Or, at the same time, it probably isn't. It's not until you actually go in and find it that you cause and fix the cat's true state. Until then, all possible outcomes exist.

Only as a whim of the Local Government re-organisations of 1974 & 1986. As Lancashire Cricket Club play there, Liverpool is in Lancashire, as is Manchester. They also form part of the Duchy and County Palatine of Lancashire. Otherwise it's like saying Southampton isn't in Hampshire, or Blackpool & Blackburn aren't in Lanky, as they are Unitary Authorities. Local Authority boundaries can change, traditions founded on emnity towards the Yorkists are far more resilient.

It's simple, hang around until the ConDems implode and walk back into Downing Street as the other 2 parties fight their civil wars - The LDs will lose a lot of support to the tree huggers and the blue rinse brigade will defect from the Tories and boost UKIP into 3rd place nationally. The worrying thing is that none of them deserve to run the country.

But what about the day after ?

It was the culmination of a 2 -3 year plan which involved getting sufficient riders onto the pro tour to then gain enough points to qualify the numbers for this race, and then Wiggins, Millar, etc rode themselves to exhaustion at the head of the field for most of the race to set Cav up. A brilliant team effort and a trademark finish from the Missile. And don't forget GB came top of the overall medal table with Wiggo's silver in the time trial & Emma Pooley's 3rd in the women's pro road race, and 1 each of gold, silver, and bronze in the junior races. ( And HTC Highroad riders won 3 of the 4 senior road races - not bad for a team that's about to fold )

But surely the way the timing is done is that the two ends of the route are using a common reference time source and the elapsed flight time is taken from the observed departure time at one end and the observed arrival time at the other. Therefore, as time is relatively slower at the Italian end, ( as it is travelling faster with the rotation of the Earth ) the recorded time taken with reference to the common time source will be earlier than expected, hence the travel time is recorded as less than it should be, and the neutrinos appear to be going faster. Personally I reckon it's option (3) from my list anyway.
-
A 'law' in physics is simply a theory that has yet to be proved incorrect.
-
1 ) As time is relative to the observer, and the effective rotational speed experienced at any point on the Earth's surface increases as you get nearer to the equator, then assuming the route traveled by the neutrinos runs on a north-south axis, ( CERN to Italy ), the neutrinos will be seen traveling apparently at different speeds at either end of the track. 2) They've made a mistake 3) It's God playing tricks Take your pick.

I don't 'want' promotion, I want Saints to win every game they play - promotion will be achieved as a consequence of gaining sufficient points across the season, and given the start we have made I will certainly be disappointed if we end up missing out, but there's another season starting next August and the circus will begin again. A Preston fan I work with, ( imagine THAT in an office in Bloomfield Road ! ), said a couple of seasons ago that the Prem was a nice place to visit, but a rotten place to stay, ( mind you they've never experienced it ), and there is no doubt here that the Blackpool fans would go through last season again without any hesitation, including the last day roller-coaster, ( something we have also gone through both with success and disappointment ). Hell, even the Skates would jump at the chance of another season rubbing shoulders with the World's mercenary elite, ( and some not-so elite ). The Prem is indeed a cesspool of greed and shady dealing, but I for one would jump at the chance to see Saints upset ManUre, Chelski, Spuds, & the Arse once in a while, and we will most definitely be on a much better financial footing than with Rupes.

Interesting to see what this site lists as the age of sexual consent around the world - particularly that it is states it is 13 in Spain, 14 in Italy, and 12 in the Vatican City ! http://www.avert.org/age-of-consent.htm

Yes, but unlike the banks, these failing businesses were not 'too big to fail' and unable to ask for a Government bailout. I am not arguing the semantics of job security in the public & private sectors, where I admit there is more 'risk' in the private, ( but don't assume the public sector had been immune prior to the last 12 months ). The difference between public & private sector employment is that quite a lot the public sector is not operating in a commercially competitive environment, and the 'business' will never be in a position to 'fail' - be it the NHS, the Fire Brigades, the Police, or even the Civil Service. What I am countering is the assertion that public sector pay is (1) higher in a like for like comparison, and (2) has been afforded inflation indexed pay rises, which I can tell you from bitter experience is patently untrue.

From a Guardian article in 2009 "Here is the history of pay rates, according to Alistair Hatchett of IDS. Between 1993 and 1999 the public workforce was squeezed and downgraded: there were severe shortages, as always happens if pay falls too far behind the world outside. There was a good catch-up between 2000 and 2004: nurses and teachers were recruited and pay rose. But from 2005 until now, pay was cut back again: 2% across the board was the rule. Last year when inflation was 4% the public sector got 2.5%." And then, of course, there is the old chestnut about 'average' pay being higher in the public sector : "But there are five times more unskilled workers in the private than the public sector. The Office of National Statistics' labour force survey shows that only 8.6% of people in the private sector are in professional grades, compared with the 24.5% of public employees who are professionals. All the way up the scale, managers, professionals and skilled trades are taking a 70p an hour pay cut by working for the state." With a much higher proportion of unskilled workers, the 'average' is bound to be lower in the private sector. http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2009/jul/06/public-sector-private-pay And then there's this from 2008 : "The 2007-08 pay round can be described as one rule for the private sector, another for the public sector. The private sector is starting to show the marked impact of inflationary pressures, while the cap on public sector pay is keeping a lid on economy-wide figures. Private sector negotiators achieved rises of almost 45% more than those in the public sector, with the mid point (median) of deals in the private sector reaching 4% while in the public sector the figure stood at 3%, and when weighted by numbers of employees, was only 2.75%. This strongly reflects the NHS Agenda For Change settlement (also 2.75%) covering 1.2 million staff. The upper quartile of employees in the private sector (top 25%) received rises of 6% or more." http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:eqb3uhwWZ38J:www.lrd.org.uk/issue.php%3Fpagid%3D1%26issueid%3D1267+public+sector+pay+relation+to+inflation&cd=75&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk&client=firefox-a

That's the problem with casino captalists, 'I'm all right, sod the rest of you'. Get your head out of your arse and recognise that we're ALL being screwed, ( especially those poor unfortunates that have to suffer the 50p tax band ). The post above was merely pointing out that the assertion that public sector workers are getting inflation linked pay rises is incorrect. In fact most are getting their pay cut in real terms, not just in relation to inflation, which the Government is fudging by switching the index used to measure it. As for public sector job loses : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/jobs/8764101/Public-sector-job-cuts-put-110000-out-of-work.html "More than 110,000 public sector workers have lost their jobs in the second quarter, with job cuts in the sector already five times greater than expected for the year."

Could you please find a non- Daily Mail source to back up this assertion. http://www.communitycare.co.uk/Articles/2011/02/17/116300/local-authority-social-workers-hit-by-pay-freeze.htm "Local authority social workers and other care professionals will not receive a pay rise in 2011-12, Local Government Employers has announced." http://www.emergencyshorts.co.uk/story/4990/fire/Fire_Brigades_Union/Fire_Brigades_Union_takes_first_step_to_industrial_action_ballot/ "We’re already facing a pay freeze at a time of raging inflation and major frontline cuts" http://www.nursingtimes.net/nursing-practice/clinical-specialisms/management/pay-freeze-confirmed-for-those-earning-over-21000/5027466.article "Pay freeze confirmed for those earning over £21,000" http://www.teachers.org.uk/files/school-teachers-pay-2011-document.doc "The Government has confirmed its intention to impose a pay freeze for qualified teachers in 2011 and 2012. With RPI at its highest for twenty years and expected to stay above 4 per cent throughout 2011 and planned increases in pension contributions in April 2012, teachers face a significant real terms pay cut of more than 10 per cent over the next two years."

1) the rise of the Solidarity movement in Poland - the first step on the path that culminated in the fall of the Berlin Wall. 2) Chernobyl 3) Six day war - so much geo-political fallout as Israel becomes the dominant military power in the region 4) The Iranian revolution that overthrew the Shah - a focus for Islamic fundamentalism thereafter. 5) The Russian invasion of Afghanistan - put Bin Laden into a position of power as the CIA armed him to the teeth

You do realise that for some of us understanding this sort of thing IS our life - or at least the bit that pays the mortgage, puts food on the table, and clothes the kids. -
