  1. As with the high take when he knew he would get clattered late in the second half - the one where the ref got floored.
  2. Any player can mis-kick - if it's a striker everybody laughs it off, if it's a young keeper they crucify him.
  3. Sensible post. ( Out of place on this Forum though )
  4. All these 'cup finals' coming one after the other, it's really putting pressure on their squad.
  5. You've gone waaaay off message with that opinion !
  6. So, that's home against the champions, ( who've just put 6 past Arsenal ), and away at Newcastle - both with Gazza in goal, and we only conceded 1 in each match. No exactly a disaster.
  7. Brave claim by Gazza.
  8. Anybody got a decent stream ?
  9. Why is this an indictment of Saints fans - do you not think fans of other clubs do this ? Streams haven't taken me away from games - generally I am out and about until after Saturday lunchtime, so it's too late to start travelling nearly 250 miles to a home game. I do go to some away games, those within reasonable distance. If there wasn't a stream I'd listen to R5, but I will not donate a single penny to any company run by the Murdochs, nor submit to BT's bid to take over all televisual broadcast sports. Streams enable long distance and overseas fans to see much much more of their team than MOTD might deign to show.
  10. "By William’s death, the Anglo-Saxon aristocracy was all but replaced. In the Domesday book of 1086, there are only four large English landowners." http://europeanhistory.about.com/od/NormanConquest/a/The-Consequences-Of-The-Norman-Conquest.htm "It has been estimated that only about 8 per cent of the land was under Anglo-Saxon control by 1087" Wood, Michael (2005). 11. No you've all got it wrong, he was really a visiting chiropodist - William the Corn-Curer.
  12. Signed
  13. Just imagine you're in a Sherman knowing your shells will simply bounce off the Tiger, and that bloody great cannon is trying to locate you.
  14. That WAS a public holiday up to 1859.
  15. Who was it who said the other day that they preferred to use the EuroStar when all the French passengers coming here had to disembark at Waterloo.
  16. Liberated by whom ? The descendents of the Normans still provide the bulk of the upper class. And the Angles were just another bunch of incomers, anyway.
  17. PS - Bazza : I know that you work tirelessly to disprove the possibility of a connection between you, but this thread is typical of the sort of thing old Dunce would start.
  18. Of course, when the World Cup starts, absolutely nobody will be attaching a St George's flag to their car, hanging the free give away from the Sun on their bedroom wall, or going to the pub to watch the match with a red cross painted on their face. We can get as Nationalistic as anybody else, when we need to.
  19. Is St David's day a public holiday ?
  20. As long as you remember not to load the shells filled with paint !
  21. "Any good young players Pompey had have been forced into the senior team due to their financial troubles." Err, isn't that what we did under Poortvliet ?
  22. Or they are not up to date with their inoculations.
  23. Would that apply to Sunday league footballers ?

  25. Plus vulnerable ammunition storage in the turret.
