This. We may or may not stay up this season, that's in the laps of the footballing gods, or at the whim of the Fates, or down to Lady Luck, or voodoo - whichever it is I don't care, the world won't come to an end. I support Southampton FC; managers come and go, players are generally mercenary buggers, but I'm no plastic -Red & White is forever.
-
Don't worry, our next 4 games will not be as difficult as the 4 we've just played.

No loans in the Prem once the window is shut.

I guess it's all about your perspective :
-
But they didn't contribute much even when they stayed wide, we ended up all too often playing long through the middle as there was no effective attacking width.
-
We'd get the standard Redkrapp press conference "It'll be a hard job, this squad is just not good enough."
-
We have had worse starts - as I have posted elsewhere, in 1998 we had 0 points from the first 4 games, with a GD of -10, including 0-5 vs Charlton. We followed this by losing again and by the 9th game had only gained 2 points. At the end of that season we stayed up with 41 points.

Do we all still have our 'Great Escape' T shirts ? They may need an airing. Just remember that the season ends at the final whistle of the 38th game, and relegation doesn't mean the end of the world. I REFUSE to be a bed-wetter.

1) We won't be the only team beaten by 5 at Arsenal 2) We have actually had worse starts to Premiership seasons 3) We are currently one win away from 14th 4) We will beat Villa 5) The sun will come up tomorrow At least 4 of the above are facts !

Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker on Twitter:"Five now for Arsenal. Abacus at the ready..." Run out of fingers already ? ***t.

Only one way to sort this --- FIGHT !!!!

I think what matters is where we are in relation to the teams around us - if we are within 2 or 3 points of 16th place it's a different situation to being cut adrift. ( Assuming that is that the next 3 months pan out as Alps predicts ).
-
Probably no point either in reminding people that Gazzaniga, Clyne, and Yoshida were all brought in during the summer.
-
This. Worst case scenario is that we start planning for next season as we are already down according to some.
-
Devil's Advocate question :- If the squad is as poor as some of you are making out, what difference would changing the manager make ? ( And again as I am typing there is a goal - Danny Fox being far more effective in attack then he ever is in defence ).
-
Get's him in the country - why did Tevez go to Wet Sham ? As for the game, first goal unfortunate, second poor positioning by KD and why was someone as short as Punch on the end of the wall ? Third was down to Fox, and as I'm typing this another deflection FFS. What's our worst defeat in the Prem ? I know the 7-0 & 8-0 but were they in the old Div 1 ?
-
Well that, at least, makes me feel so much superior to you then ! We used to regularly go riding, and kept my children's ponies in the back garden.

Basketball and baseball.

Will watch the Open and the Masters, but otherwise golf has very little appeal for me, tennis is a major no-no, and F1 is not as essential as it used to be, ( probably due to half the races not being live on terrestrial TV ). I am, however, enjoying having so much cycling available to watch, both road and track racing.

Go to Fratton Park ?

PST BID ON TRACK AND WITH ADMINISTRATOR PST's bid to buy Portsmouth Football Club is with Administrator Trevor Birch and still on course to be successful. But in a move welcomed by PST, Mr Birch has given both the Trust and rival bidder Portpin additional time to finalise their bids, notably to satisfy the Football League on a number of issues. 'We have said all along that our bid is robust and credible, and the best option for the creditors and the football club,' said Colin Farmery spokesperson for PST 'To all intents and purposes our bid is submitted but, given Pompey's recent history, we fully understand and support the need for this process to be as thorough as possible and welcome this decision by PKF. We will continue to work to the timetable set out by the administrators. 'We are pleased that Trevor Birch thinks we are capable of concluding a deal and will work round the clock to agree and finalise the deal as soon as we can. 'In the mean time we would urge all Pompey fans who are able to attend the match at Fratton Park against Walsall on Saturday and give Michael Appleton and the team their full support,' he added.

Do you mean that Frattoniser is Frattonising ?
