  1. The point about the Wimpey was the inaccuracy in the original film concerning Barnes Wallis trying to requisition one from the Air Ministry for the bomb tests.
  2. Yes.
  3. Genetics. Some climbers will corkscrew clockwise in response to the movement of the sun, and will grow straight when grown in artificial light, ( you can also make them grow the other way if you move the light source ). Other plants are merely programmed to go one way or the other, and I suspect your beans fall into this category. It's probably something to do with growth promoting chemicals being either left-handed or right-handed - mirror images of each other but with differing effects. ( The same can be seen with the sugars, left handed sugar molecules cannot be digested by humans ).
  4. Wayne Rooney's hair transplant was from Colleen's pubes. Doctors said it was the best place to find hair for a c()nt.
  5. On what do you base this statement ?
  6. RE the correct accent for orcs : Given that The Shire is supposedly based on the area around Stoneyhurst College in Lancashire, then Mordor, being on the other side of the mountains to the east, must be Yorkshire. ( How appropriate ).
  7. Every day is an opportunity to learn.
  8. "It is humiliating to be utterly beaten by these n i g g e r s." "I prefer land to n i g g e r s". I wonder who said this ?
  9. It's like a car crash, I just cannot believe how you keep making a fool of yourself.
  10. Probably because 2 were Scottish.
  11. In Enemy at the Gates, the bad guy ( Ed Harris ) has an American accent, the good guys ( the Russians ) all have English ones. What a pointless debate this has become. ( And if anybody missed it, post #39 was intended to be ironic ).
  12. I was more concerned with the story-line inaccuracies in the filmed trilogy, especially the elves somehow turning up at Helm's Deep. Absolutely disgraceful abuse of a much loved masterpiece of English literature.
  13. And what is an Orc's true accent then ?
  14. It was dodging the traffic as it was only playing chicken, it was really a duck.
  15. Care to comment on the inaccuracies in the original ? Such as Barnes Wallis not being the chief designer of the Wellington, that Gibson did not devise the twin lights system, etc, etc. Surely they are equally integral parts of an accurate story ?
  16. If a picture paints a thousand words, what the *** is this ( by Jackson Pollock ) saying ?
  17. FWIW, the orginal B&W film is NOT entirely historically accurate : http://www.sirbarneswallis.com/DamBusters.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dam_Busters_%28film%29#Historical_inaccuracies If the only issue in the new film is renaming the dog, I think that's an extremely understandable and very minor point.
  18. Only if you are in that mac !
  19. Answer ( courtesy of Mrs B ) : because God is a Citeh fan.
  20. Remember she comes from the 'ALL men are potential rapists' school of feminism and she has to be sensationalist or nobody would know who she is. I hope all mass media formats will now just shun the increasingly irrelevant, prune skinned, old trog. ( As for her main raison d'etre, my wife is always asking why would women want to be equal when they are already superior ? ).

Paper tape readers, punched card sorters, OCP switches, 7-track open reel magnetic tape units, green screen 80*25 CRT monitors, chain printers, - you could shut down an ICL system by typing 'DIE', it came back with 'OK' and stopped. Those were the days. ( This is danger of becoming the 4 Yorkshiremen sketch ).
  23. Might have something to do with a pampered and privileged lifestyle.
  24. Pretty girl (bella-donna )
