French jornalist Romain Molina says Liebherr wants to sell
Mallagroth replied to Bewildered's topic in The Saints
Makes sense. Fair enough they are playing a great game so far if that is the aim. Couple of cheaper signings in of middling quality and jobs a goodun. If she relegates us though she is ****ed as the clubs value will plummet. Lets see if her advisors have judged this right. -
Yep this, it really is getting hard to support them especially with shocking short sighted statements like this one. Actions are all that counts at this point and we need faces in the door immediately or we really will be in **** come start of season.
-
Les or his advisors really don't seem to grasp the PR of this situation. They opened the door with Lallana and now it can't be closed. Anyone with an inkling of leaving will unfortunately be thinking **** I need to get out now. Anyone we want to come will be wondering what's going on in the background and that will put them off massively. By letting players go one after the other simply because they ask to shows that there is not enough backbone. The big clubs are gleefully bending us over and taking our talent in ways that has never happened before because they know we won't put up a fight, it's just a matter of a nice figure of money to get the deal done, or at least it seems that way.
-
So as far as I can see, the club have decided if someone asks for one of our players then we say okay how much irrespective of how it effects the team or what we could get by being patient, i agree this is alarming. It would have been far more profitable to hold onto Chambers for another season and this is the first true indication of the rumoured fire sale/asset strip. Bet saggy chops wishes he was here now, he's be making Rosie a fortune in all this transfer dealing. I'm giving the club two weeks to get some new faces over the line with all this money otherwise i'm joining the mongs and going hyper wobble.

I thought he was abroad concluding transfer negotiations? Someone mentioned it on one of the now lost and gone positive threads

Can't wait for the game, hopefully some new faces that aren't yet buried up Brendan Rogers arse.

Will this be the best transfer window for Saints ever?

I refuse to get negative about what we all know has been coming since Mopo announced he may be off and some of the players suggested they might go with him. Maybe it's because I was lucky and been through what most seem now to be feeling, in the first two weeks when the Argie left. I've come full circle and now think it's great that we're not fighting it and just clearing them out for top money. (Chambers at the prices I've heard I simply don't get though). At that point we didn't have Koeman, Tadic or Pelle. AS CB said we will rebuild and perhaps have a better foundation this time than a league 1 team. Just need to take some deep breaths… although I might need some oxygen if something else positive doesn't happen this week. If Koeman can get players to sign and keep the team playing as a unit despite the state the club looks in from the casual observation then like CB_Fry said the manager could have us flying come Xmas. -
Because of the amount of money we are making, we have the chance to do what has taken Everton 10 years to do in a much shorter time. Generate enough financial turnover while increasing club prestige to purchase prospects in Europe looking for step onto higher level of prem ladder. Everton couldn't get the financial clout to speed this consolidation period up. Our big money youth transfers are giving us an edge that others in our position have never had before. This is why they are all getting so worried. If they can't kill us this season, we will be knocking on the palace doors, and this scares the **** out of those who want it to be a closed shop.

Chambers is great player and looks to have bulked up this preseason like Shaw did for last. I think selling him would be a massive mistake as we could double his valuation in 9 months.
-
Maybe they wanted to leave for big money, and told the club to do one. If I hold anyone responsible it's Mopo and Cortese. They jumped ship and the rats are following. I believe that this is simply because Cortese was such an impossible individual to deal with that the players would have feared kicking off about a move knowing the guy wasn't rational and would happily take them to court if they farted in his office. The new board is clearly more level headed and willing to negotiate, the slime balls have taken advantage of this. I personally wish Les/Kreuger/Rogers had taken a more firm stance like Cortese with regard to transfers and do it with Lovren. Lallana had been with us too long the PR about his loyalty was in his favour, Lovren is a merc and now is our chance to look strong and reimpose the rule of the law. The person who feeds with the chequebook should be running the show not those receiving.

Thankfully there are still voices of sanity here.

Haha good on Fonte and Boruc. This is what we should be doing on here, laughing at the predicament and accepting it in our stride. We will have prem football and we will make a fight of it.
-
That's bull**** and once again a complete misuse of a quote to make a derogatory headline by the mail. Channon did not call our club a joke if anything he was more referring to Liverpools bizarre transfer policy and lust for our squad. 'Lovren leaving is another blow. How many players do Liverpool want from us? It's getting beyond a joke. I do worry about the Premier League.'

Will this be the best transfer window for Saints ever?

Has anyone actually said that? I hope we have and am surely not alone in this. I hope that this window turns out to be good as in my OP and it doesn't meet the doom predictions of others. -

Fair play to him if he does, last season he was very exciting to watch. Either of us could be right, I guess we will see over the course of next season. It's going to be another interesting subplot to watch. -

Lallana is a good player, but yes I believe in my opinion that he has been over hyped by the British media. He had a great season and did a fantastic job for us on our journey to this level. Can he step up to be as useful at champions league level? I'm not so sure. Roy made a decision that he wasn't good enough to be his first pick after spending time with Adam. After the way he acted I hope I am right. We got rid of someone who clearly was up his own arse, either way that is a positive mate. -

Shaw played one full season with us as first choice left back? Also he is the best left back in the premier league in your opinion, you wouldn't get a consensus on this across all the fans of other clubs and British media. I think you're well off the mark. He is a great player though and a shame we couldn't have him with us for another year. -
Haha great point.

Spot on there is remaining doubtful of how foreign players will perform and there is calling for your Director of Football to be sacked.

These facts don't seem so necessary on the negative doom predictors version of the summer. According to some of your posts we have sold 5 already? What is the obvious flaw to the whole summer. I believe we have shipped out want away players. It is a shame that they played well for us last summer, but we are changing system and there is nothing to say they would have coped well under this manager. Lallana was one of our least impressive players under Adkins system if I recall the Adam should be stripped of his captaincy threads from not so long ago. -

Yep I agree, it has the potential to go horribly wrong, but at the moment it's actually all quite okay. Most of the negative feeling and doom mongering is speculation at what could happen and what the negative effects on team morale could be. I will join with the pitch fork wielders if it all goes as bad as some predict. -

I don't understand? Is not what I have said also just as true as the other threads floating around, (but with facts). I agree we will see in September. -
This is spot on as usual. The best thing about going for the unproven at this level type is that there is always the outside chance of identifying a Suarez.
