A very succinct and well expressed opinion. I agree entirely with the bit in bold. Nineteen really can't resist a dig at MLT (or McMenemy for that matter), exactly in the same way as one of his alter egos Flashman at the Charge, had to regularly have a dig at Crouch. Apart from that, as you say, there really isn't anybody having a significant dig about the new owner or the manager, just at a player or two who either isn't performing because they want to be elsewhere, or because they are not up to the standard required. One or two have praised the sentiments of the OP, but apart from the statements of the bleeding obvious, there are gaping holes that can and have been shot in his argument.

You'e quite right, Nineteen. If I'd seen that "if", it would have justified your whole post. It's obvious that you intend to post something in the form of a debate, but don't realise that you present it as fact instead.
-
Well, that's the trouble with you, Nineteen. You just can't brook that somebody might dissect your dissertation bit by bit and prove what a load of tosh it is. The usual self-assured claptrap epitomised by all your other aliases.

Usually I find myself in agreement with your opinions. Not this time. We'll be mid table at least, whereas the Skates will go down unless they get a new owner who spends some money on replacing some of the quality they have shipped out. On Match of the Day, both Hansen and Shearer thought that Pompey were the favourites to go down. So in that eventuality, we will be one division apart.

We don't need Wotton for leadership qualities. We have Davis and Murty who are perfectly capable in that department. What is the point in having Wotton purely for his alleged leadership qualities when in all other departments he is completely useless, even at this level?

You're the one living in the past. You're like a dog with a bone. For crissakes, stop your petty b itching and move on.

How do you know that it is a certainty. A probabilty perhaps. But I see no evidence that attendance numbers have fallen, quite the contrary. The number of ST sales is quite significantly up on those for the last regime. It is a bit early in the day for you to start sermonising about what our new owner may or may not do under certain circumstances.

Sorry. Meant dead ball.

This report echoes the impression I got from the Radio Solent commentary. The other thing that came across was that the strike force that would have been the envy of every other club in this division, could not function to its full potential, because they received hardly any service. Both of them might have scored some additional goals had they had a chance from spot kicks, but there were precious few of those either, so poor were we at getting into their last third. Also, it seems that our midfield was overrun by theirs. Why do we persist with that donkey Wotton? I'm pretty sure that Gillett would at least have been snapping at the heels of their midfield players, not letting them settle. Another thing that I noticed was how Merrington had admiration in his voice when he said that it was almost impossible for our back line to catch their forwards offside because they played along our line and then turned to break through every time, often beating us for pace. Why aren't we as cute about disciplined attack tactics? When we were a half decent team having just been relegated from the Premiership, we often found that we were often frustrated at home by teams who played 5 across the middle with just a lone striker and the opposition would weather the storm by snuffing out the threats with the crowded midfield, frustrate us, then hit it over the top for their mobile forward to run onto. Perhaps we ought to play like that until we get together a team capable of dealing with this division's tougher teams. Also, it is hard to imagine why we couldn't get any width to stretch Huddersfield midfield. Although a disappointing setback, it is probably a good thing that we got this pasting, as it ought to concentrate Pardew's mind beautifully as to where we need to strengthen and how urgently that surgery is. As to giving away a penalty a match in this division, we cannot afford it. We need to be more disciplined in defence.

Judge not lest ye be judged and all that guff about motes in eyes, let he who is without sin cast the first stone, pots and kettles, people in glasshouses throwing stones, etc,

I'm quite content that the new people know precisely why things went wrong with this club, so it will be easy to avoid the same pitfalls. Just because we are owned by one individual means by itself that we will not suffer the divisions caused by the rampant egos of several individual shareholders. Most on here don't have to be geniusses to know that stability is to be preferred to constant change where managers are concerned. Where employees such as managers and players are concerned, the old adage that if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys should never be ignored. Lastly, this is a business that relies on the continued attendance and support of its customers, the fans, to both survive and thrive. I'm completely confident that the new owner realises that and will not abuse us or take us for granted like the other fella did. What was his name, now?

So the two Dutch managerial non-entities have had a major falling out with each other. Who cares a toss? They're gone, Lowe's gone, Wilde, Askham, Wiseman, Gordon, Hunt, Richards, all of them are history. I really can't be that bothered to waste time considering who was to blame, (Lowe was) how things might have been had some other scenario come to pass if Pearson had not been dismissed, had we played with a better blend of youth and experience, etc. Let's just be thankful that we have been delivered into a future that is full of hope and positive expectation, owned by somebody wealthy, highly proficient in business and professional, led by a manager experienced in British football at this level and above and able to identify and sign top level players capable of gaining us promotion back to the Premiership. It's going to be an exciting journey, these next four or five years. Let's look ahead, rather than over our shoulder.

I don't know. What does he look like? I forget.

I think that your going off half-**** over this all, firing blanks

So, accepting your premise that a family of four living in a house together and all saints fans can post on here under four separate aliases, out of Nineteen Canteen, Sundance Beast, Flashman at the Charge, Speculator, something or other bear, etc, which one is the father, which the mother, which the sons? I'm guessing that Nineteen or Speculator for dad or mum, as Flashman and Sundance were both particularly nasty pieces of work and far more juvenile. If on the other hand, these are all multiple personas of one individual, then as the psychiatrist said to his wife on Fawlty Towers, "there's enough material here for an entire conference".

We should tell them £1 million at least, or they can go and take a running jump. We don't have to sell anymore. Lambert was £1 million, so I don't see why Rasiak would be less.

Hopefully you made her pregnant, thus improving the Skate gene pool.

It applies to several fans from several clubs, not just us. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=scummer&defid=1178441

I suspect that as a defence, any poster prosecuted by you would only have to prove that you had been banned from this site several times under several aliases for insulting other posters. The judge would then be advised by his councel that there is such a creature on internet forums who by virtue of such actions, comes to be labelled a troll. He would then soon realise that the definition fits you to a tee and throw out the case. Easy.
-
Anyway, I'm off to bed. Talk amongst yourselves, Nineteen...
-
What am I assuming? How many people on here know who you are enough to make your reputation suffer? In any event, quite a few could point to many of your posts in their defence and have the judge throw it out on grounds that you were provocative to them and they responded; the internet equivalent of handbags at 6 paces.
-
The problem with any prosecution arises where the participants' true identities are unknown. Undoubtedly if a known personality such as Lowe, Crouch, Askham, Wiseman, etc, were libelled/slandered, whatever, on here, then they might insist on finding out the identity of the culprit and sue their sorry arses through the courts. Now, although Darren Wheeler posts openly under his own name, you don't and although you have posted under several aliases, I suspect that for the vast majority on here, nobody really knows who you are. So how can your reputation be impugned?
-
I was just responding to David, Minsk, who said that he didn't think we would get much from Swansea. I wonder what Pardew has in mind as the price we are looking to get? Personally, I would love for Swansea to make their feeble offer and have it rammed down their throats and told to either be realistic, or stop playing games. It rankles that they got Dyer for a relative pittance and here would be a chance to get something extra to compensate. As you say, if there are no serious offers, both Poles would have the best incentive to produce some goals to put themselves in the shop window for moving up before the World Cup.

Welcome to the forum, LA. Yes, we all knew who you meant. All you have to do is press the Quote button and then write the response under.

Please leave it open, mods, it's been good fun swapping a bit of banter with our residents Skates. Nineteen has told us all how pointless the thread is, so he can leave it be, or be called a hypocrite for taking such a continuing interest in contributing to it.
