  1. I have spoken of football matters on here many times. In fact, my last posts on here before this were about the 1980 match against Ipswich which ended 4-3. Yes, in my opinion you do have an agenda, and have had since Cortese took charge. Your nose has been shoved in the dirt far too many times for you to resist this opportunity. You have taken these accounts and given them a headline. You didn't just provide a link so people could digest and discuss, YOU made the headlines. Those headlines are driven by your agenda that you have against Cortese. I apologise for not realising that these accounts have just been made available. It does make me wonder how you just happen to come across them the same day they were published (or for accuracy, maybe one day later). I guess it was just pure coincidence that you were purusing the companies House website and luckily came aross them? I don't need an apology from you Steve, I am happy to step out of the way and let this mess that you created spiral into another negative summer for the Saints. Another summer where forum members are diverted from what is going on the field to what is going on behind the scenes and drawing out every little detail until such a time that everyone that has a monetary interest in this club are driven from it. Maybe SISA will take us over this time like they did with Coventry, aren't we lucky that never happened? Aren't you glad that those conmen from a semi detatched house in London never took us over? Aren't you glad we didn't go into admin again? Aren't you glad we're not being run like that mob down the road? ML said he will walk with us through the hard times and support us financially when it got rough. And when I look down and I see only one set of footprints, that isn't where he stole from us or conned us out of money nor stung us for a loan, those footprints are where he carried us my friend. And now you look at those footprints after he is deceased and you question the man who cxarried your club for you. With the full and conscious knowledge that he cannot answer you. this is an unfair thread. It is an unfair slant and biased headlines bent on destabalising Cortese. BUT, in order to point the finger at Cortese, you have to disrespect the dead, and that is what you have done Steve. And so, accept my apology and whilst you sit there smug in the knowledge that I got it wrong on the dates, remember this, you are trying to disrespect ML and the legacy he left. And so, as I walk away I applaude you teve, I applaude you because I have rarely met someone who is willing to F**K this club over in order to snare Cortese on the back of accounts managed by the deceased, and the deceased that have no ability to respond... clap, clap, clap
  2. I'm not sure you even deserve a response. But I pointed this out in my post you... er... prat! And Steve brought it to our attention, er, yes, something else I pointed out in my post. I think, like others on here, you are squirming because it doesn't say what you want it to say and you are dig dig digging for stuff that isn't there. But a few smoke and mirrors and you can make it look like you want it to. As to the rest of you, you are right, I understand that there are jitters and wabbles about this stuff. But like him or loathe him, Cortese is NOT Lowe. Cortese is doing this job for his deceased friend and the guy's name we still sing on the terraces! ML, for those of you that may not go (for good or bad reasons alike). Cortese, is not going to screw over the family of his deceased friend you muppets! Wake up and smell the Italian coffee. he may be a bit of a **** from time to time. He may not recognise the family essence of this club, but he knows about numbers, and he knows about loyalty, and I don't mean the sort of dealings and loyalties that Lowe and his mob knew. Over time, Cortese could be swayed on his views and the way he treats individuals. BUT, some of you lot have to stop trying to beat him round the head at every god damn opportunity. Have you not noticed that Saints need your support. or maybe we should all boycott the ground, march on Cortese's house and demand his resignation! Is that it? is that what you want? if not, shut up, take this year old report for what it is, OLD, take a deep breath and sing it with me... Oh when the Saints, Go Marching in, oh when the saints go marching in. I wanna be, in that number, when the Saints go Marching in! OH WHEN THE SAINTS....
  3. Nice one! Let's all panic and slit our wrists! Let's all throw ourselves off the Itchin Bridge! Steve, this club is no longer run by Lowe. Nor is it run by those deviants down the road. I know you'll say you're just printing what's available, but, from here, it has "Agenda" written all over it. The loan, is repayable AFTER 5 years. The loan is by far and away the biggest debt, but, it wouldn't suit anybody with an agenda to admit that this is an UNKNOWN length of time. Is it payable when the club is sold when we are in the Prem? Is it repaid when we make it into the Champions League? Is it a 99 year long loan, depreciating over that period? Is it wiped off after 10 years if we make it to the Prem? I don't know, but neither do you. This privately owned company published these figures in companies house last June. you have accessed them a year later and have pushed an agenda and created fear and division on this site. Seeing as ML is no longer with us, it suits the agenda to direct all our hate of the situation at Cortese. I note well that we are in the final push of the season and everyone together, behind the team is what we want. But, no! We have to divide the fanbase once again, just so we can take personal swipes at the deceased owner or his friend. It serves us all well that we're sniping at each other, about figures from last season, which, if I'm not mistaken, we started on minus 10 points and then bought in january on here, because a similar group of parasites werre complaining we hadn't won promotion, we hadn't invested enough ion the team! And then all hell broke loose when we didn't wade in with millions thios summer, or in January! This divide by the fear of Lowe has to stop! those that dislike Cortese, just don't like him. Stop trying to dupe decent honest fans into believing we are steaming into oblivion like those lot down the road, and that Cortese is at the front of the hand outs from this massive pot of cash that ML left behind. I support the Saints. Cortese is in charge. ML saved this club. we are on the brink of automatic promotion. That is where we are today, let's leave the past in the past. If you have some relevant, up to date factual information on the loan, then share it with us. If you don't, jog on...
  4. At home to Ipswich town in 1980/81 season. 3-0 down, 3-1 at half time with Keegan penalty. Second half serge against the likes of Alan Brazil, Eric Gates, etc etc. we won 4-3. Best game ever!
  5. We used to be in debt. ML bought us (saved us) and put more money in. Through a banking meltdown, we have continued to (slowly) develop this club (training ground was mentioned), and at this stage, Saints, have great potential. This jok of a 'journalist' has taken some detail, thrown it up in the air and read the tea leaves about the future. Has Lawrie Mac had a hand in? IMO, he doesn't need to help the Mail guess on speculation, it's what they do every day of the week. In fact, it shouldn't even be called a Newspaper, but a Speccy Paper, or 'Not so' Broadsheet. The mail may have a point as we may get bought out by an arab in the next 500 years and in that time, they can turn to this piece of twitter and say 'told you'. So, how about we all stop reading/quoting the Daily Mail, it has been proved to be THE most inaccurate group of writing (didn't want to use news paper), there has ever been, on a daily basis. Anyway, another day, another body blow, but what a great game. Will we ever win on sky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????
  6. I never minded Nik going to games, being a supporter, complaining about prices, parking, buses or whatever, but STOP doing it as the 'fans' representative. You are NOT. You are Saints Trust representative, which, is NOT representative of Saints supporters as it contains Nik, a couple of strangers, a guy who didn't even know he'd signed up, and Nik's dog! Even in this IFO dossier, he is talked up as fans representative, often giving the fans view in TV interviews. This is just wrong, and using this Saints trust card again is sickening. I am considering writing to IFO and ask them to reconsider their opinion of Nik. Sure, let him back in, but wipe all trace of Saints trust from their records, it is a non-entity and holds no weight with the fans whatsoever. And, Nik using this again, just goes to show how unstable the guy is. They talk about the saints failure to publish its charter this season, where's the Saints trust charter this season, list of members, newsletters, updates, official demonstration in an outpouring of support for the trust secretary. It's all rubbish. STOP IT NIK, JUST STOP IT.
  7. So, Saints lose a game of football, and now Nigel isn;t good enough, in over his head. The Chairman is an idiot and doesn't know what he's doing. And those same people want these two guys to whip the cheque book out and sign more players, a CM and ST apparently, and why? Because our left midfielder is injured. You couldn't f**king make it up. No Hammond to blame today, suppose everyone will blame Kelvin or maybe there's a new target of Fonte now? We lost, we'll lose again this season, probably more than once, get used to it! Oh, and most of us weren't even born last time we beat Tranmere! (not a dig at those of you that saw that game!) Now, pick your bl**dy bottom lips off the floor you bunch of pathetic spoilt children and start 'supporting' not 'sla**ing' your team! jeesh
  8. I have not posted here for quite some time. I got bored of all the anti-saints fans that post on this site. The other part that annoyed me was that about 50% of those remaining, that actually were saints fans, sit back and say things like "that's ridiculous", "he's entitled to his opinion", blah blah blah, meanwhile, these 'people' are attempting to destroy our club! There is a group out there, yes it is happening at Saints, no, we're not too small, it's got nothing to do with what division we're in, it's personal! These agenda's go far beyond financial gains (or losses), and come from more than one source. These people don't like you, don't like the owners and think that Saints fans a re so thick, they can get away with nearly anything. They're probably right...
  9. No Offence? Err, I didn;t start these threads, I argued agaist the OP and then backed up my arguement with 'actual' games where he played well, both commented on by 'our' supporters at the game and on the radio commentary. 50% of the people don;t argue against it, most are in agreement with me, and that is because it is a handful of people, including yourself, that want to bash our players everytime we lose. You've been to several matches and yet you think Hammond 'frequently' misplaces passes, now I know you;re on drugs mate. Yes, he has given the ball away, but, playing Guly in the hole has allowed Hammond to control the Centre Mid and also gives Kelvin the opportunity to bowl the ball out to the wide Centre Backs. He is always available for the ball and covers the attacking midfielders. In some games this season, he has been immense. I think you forget which league we're in. Hammond is a very good Centre Mid at this level, and to think we might get prem quality means you're one of those that think throwing money at the situation is the be all and end all. We have Hammond, he is our captain, this is fact, not opinion. He needs to be supported, he may have an off game now and again, BUT, overall his season will be good, just think he should score more. But then if he did, he'd be in the Championship, not League 1. If you saw the value in Telfer, then at league 1, you have to concede, Hammond is by far the better. i never saw telfer make a defense splitting mode or turn the defence as Hammond does. Hammond will play well next game and the next, then he'll have an off game, blimey, wish the rest of our team were as consistent, isn;t this why Puncheon's out on loan? Isn;t this why we're bemoaning lambert? Guly has only just been slotted in. Who's the permanent Right back? Butterfield or Richardson? How many times do people put Harding down? Should Dickson play there? What about centre Back, Jaidi, Seabourne or Martin to partner Fonte? And the biggest issue, Morgan or Chaplow. Personally, singling out hammond from all of the other decisions to make, you are barking up the wrong tree mate. Adkins knows hammond is a decent midfielder, who plays along side Hammond is the key question he'll be asking himself. But hey, maybe Nige should give you a call, I'm sure he values your opinion on one of our best players this season. And without Hammond, morgan off form and let's say Chaplo0w goes back in january, you;re suggesting we get rid of Hammond? OK, without Hammond, Morgan or Chaplow, who's your centre pairing? You must have a replacement, as you;re so sure Hammond should go. 7 games is a few, but I suggest you watch Hammond a bit more closely, he will surprise you. A very good player at this level, as is Harding. People should remember where we are before mouth gets into action. Suggestions for 2 centre mids that will tear this league apart and cost no more money than hammond please, after you...
  10. I just get fed up with saying it andf pointing it out. Also, there are countless games last season where Hammond was the best player by a country mile, remember Huddersfield at home? Anyway, can't be bothered to keep banging this drum, people on here want to slate our players because it's easy and it makes them look interesting. Call it your opinion if you like, but when the captain plays well week in week out and even in his quiet games, controls the centre mid, to me this is great. Alos, we are in League 1 FFS, if Hammond was Premiership quality, he'd be premiership consistancy, NONE of our players are Prem quality, not yet anyway. Anyhow, read, digest, concede: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?25474-Hammond-amp-Jaidi&p=863332#post863332 http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?25386-Hammond&p=868502#post868502
  11. What a shame that some posters on this board cannot look forward. Looking backward to those heady days of -10 points, or relegation from the Championship or humiliation in the Premiership must seem just like yesterday. I was having a chat with a friend yesterday and mentioned that after the loss to Carlisle, this forum will be attacking the management once again. He asked why? And I tolf him that there are too many Southampton supporters with short memories. Supporters who can;t remember only winning 10 or 11 games in a season, those that can't remember 22 games without winning a game. Certainly too many out there that can;t remember what it means to be a Saints supporter. I for one do not expect to win game after game. Not because I don;t want us to, but because since I have supported Saints, we never have. Certainly in modern times, we've not put together a string of wins of say 20 on the bounce, and yet, this is what people on here expect? Question, how many games on the bounce do you expect us to win at any particular time? Is it 5 or 6 or 10 or 20? Maybe a pinch of realism is needed in a game where it is a 2 horse race and there isn;t really a lot to choose between the two, unlike Haymaker v's Ordinary Harrison.
  12. Hope those guys that rob footballers houses don't read this website. Times and dates of when his house will be vacant, I don't think this is very smart or necessary. I mean, why do it?
  13. I love this guy, it must be pardew though (probably not, but maybe a friend who aspires to such), picking the team with a brandy in one hand and a whore on his pole. No wonder we're doing so much better now! Being a professional is one thing, but as you can see from this statement, being a professional and doing a professional go hand in hand with some. I'm just glad we have professionals running this club and not just running their mouths. I can't imagine what state this club would be in if the likes of leftback had any influence on the day to day running of this club, certainly wouldn't be Saintly.
  14. Reminds me of, not plays like. It's those shoulders
  15. Rivaldo
  16. Hammond controlled the midfield today! Fonte was exceptional, Seabourne strong, Guly awesome, Puncheon worked hard et, etc. Today was a great team performance. It's exactly games like this where a player such as Hammond is so important. Shifts the ball around, dictates the play and is always available. He was not the standout player of todays game, BUT, he was sup[erb in everything he did, gave the ball away once. Hammond is a very good Centre Mid at this level. At the beginning of the season he underperformed, he needed OUR support. Maybe some of you on here should start supporting our team when we are struggling, because we will not win every game between now and the end of the season, and not every player will be MOM in every game. Support the team, the players and the manager, and stop your F**KING moaning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. I think you wanted this thread http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?25588-Time-for-a-fresh-start good luck
  18. Wanted to point out this link from last season: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/MatchReport/0,,10280~47570,00.html 2 - 0 home win (first of the season), 2 penalties from Striker who hadn't, up to that point, been banging them in regularly for us. My old man pointed this out, and he is right, it kick started our season, although we lost our next home game against Bristols Rovers, we then went on to be beaten only ONCE in the next '16' and winning 13! Is this a turning point again?
  19. Just want to make the point (again) to all those Hammond haters, another good game from the captain today. IMO, this was his normal standard game, although, if you check the post match thoughts thread, others at the game thought he played particularly well, although I think Morgan was the better of the two. However, he was certainly not sh*t today, a waste of space or any other particularly crappy things you want to say. I have a felling I will be coming back to this thread EVERY week, just to make this point, and I will. It's time some of our fans started supporting our players when they aren;t playing well. Sometimes that's why they need us. Forget this, "they are paid X amount and should be bettter" rubbish, everyone has a bad day at the office from time to time, let's allow our players to not be perfect all the time.
  20. I agree with most of the positiveds today and my MOTM was also Barnard. However, after all his flack received, I would like to point out for the record, it was Puncheon's closing down and robbing their defender and sending in that cross which caused the havoc in the penalty area that led to our second penalty. Puncheon started off as normal, kept getting on the ball and kept losing it. He miscontrolled the ball, gave it away, etc. etc. However, on about 35mins, he almost put barney through with a great through ball and the crowd applauded his vision and execution. From that point on, he was more positive, and the luck started going his way. I have felt for Puncheon this season. He's clearly been off form, but with Lallana out, he has had to swap from his favoured right wing to his unfavoured left wing. However, he has never stopped trying, he always wants the ball and he always tracks back and supports Harding. So, although he wasn;t outstanding today, he got better and he setup our second goal. I really hope his confidence and luck returns as Saints are so much better when Lallana AND Puncheon are playing well. With lambo, my personal opinion is that he was put on a diet of some sort and it is the wrong diet. I actually believe, and laugh all you want, that he is on a low carb diet and heavy on protein. I think the guy lacks energy and his thought processes are too slow. He needs carbs (not complex carbs though).
  21. The people round me were booing the guy from the Football League. That was quite categorical. And to be honest, if you remember when this happened, the length of time COrtese was on the big screen for (3 - 5 seconds), 'most' people were watching the pitch and not lingering on the screen.
  22. Why have you made such a turnaround? Why are you so easy to turn? And it was you who started this thread and asking all these questions when you yourself, but just a couple of days ago were spouting this, and I quote: "I do not doubt Adkins can be successful. It is way too early to assess whether he will be as good as manager as Pardew or to credit him with having solved problems which, in reality, I believe were simply the inconsistency that comes with being a League One side." So, you have answered most of your questions yourself, the rest is just opinion, which, you have obviously decided to ignore and believe what you want to believe and not contemplate other people's opinion. Thread should be closed, you already have your answers.
  23. Look, basically Legor Third Coming is stating that Pardew wasn't good enough to get us promoted and HE believed in him. Now we have Adkins and Legod is panicking because HE doesn't think he's good enough to get us promoted. HE believes that we all persecuted Pardew last season, and that we should therefore all feel the same as HE does about Adkins and persecute him also. However, we don't and Legod is frustrated with , er, um, er nope, is it us or Cortese, or is it the Janitor? Who knows? If it's any help to you Legod, Pardew did ok. Adkins will do fine also. Cortese likes you, he told me so
  24. Yep, he had it all going for him and he threw it all away, I agree, he is a kn*b!
  25. I have been called all sorts of names for defending Hammond, apparently I'm his bum boy. I have also been defending Jaidi. I am so glad these two played well today, not because it proves me right, in that Hammond isn't sh*t and Jaidi isn't way passed it, but because we NEED these two performing at the top of their game. Like I said, not sure if Jaidi will play every game, but, against big burly Centre Forwards, there is no one bigger or burlier than Jaidi. And Hammond, away from home particularly, he has been a rock. At home, he needs a bit more confidence in order to regain some of his excellent standards of last season. But, I think they will both improve and both be key players for us this season. What I want now is 2 things, 1. these two to kick ar*e for us at our next home game so people can see just how good they are, and for that to continue for many games to come. 2. When they both play well for the next 6 or so games, everyone on those 2 hammond hater threads, come on here and kiss my ar*e!
