  1. Love the Austrian tie-in here
  2. The Times also saying Hughes is "likely to be given one more match to turn things around – against Manchester United on Saturday – but another defeat could spell the end of his eight-month spell in charge"
  3. Dominate's the wrong word, I just mean he and Lemina are guaranteed a starting place. Romeu at his best is far better defensively than either of them but we haven't seen it from him since Puel left.
  4. Got to feel for him. I'd never question his attitude and it's not like he's been much worse than most of our players, just plays in a position where Hojbjerg and Lemina clearly dominate.

    Hughes OUT

I don't understand why it's easier to rebuild in the Championship, with less money.

    Hughes OUT

    Love this!
  7. I assume he plays because we insist on having a left-footed defender on the left of the pair. That's the only reason I can think of, because the rest are right-footed aren't they?
  8. It's pretty hard to disagree with honouring people who were killed because they're trans.
  9. It's 2018, mate.
  10. It runs deeper than that, unfortunately.
  11. It's confidence and collective mentality. We've seen all these players play better than they are right now.
  12. Where's this from?
  13. It's a message of solidarity and a mark of respect given the esteem with which they hold those words. See Celtic, Dortmund etc singing the song too.
  14. Football has an emotional hold over people. It's the only thing some men get emotional about. Imagine if Markus had died in a helicopter crash, because that's what this is like.
  15. What a shame to have their title winning story be linked to a tragedy like this.
  16. Two things I'll never forget about that game: - the Vergini own goal - the fact I'd become so bored of travelling to watch rubbish games against Sunderland home and away that I decided to give this one a miss!
  17. Not sure much has changed in the last three or four years besides the usual inflation and Saints becoming crap.
  18. They were pretty warm about the performance but sceptical, as I think we all are, of Hughes bringing on Davis and shutting up shop with 15 to go.
  19. I was right in front of the Lemina/Redmond pass as well. Don't think it's anything to worry about, just frustration at the miscommunication.
  20. Thanks folks - turned out there was a place called Cleos round the corner from me in East Village which had every PL game and some foreign stuff. Enjoyed everything except the game itself!
  21. If we watched that team in perpetuity then the victories would start to lose their sweetness. Those great years created a sense of entitlement which lingers now.
  22. I'm gonna be in Chicago for the Liverpool away game on the 22nd and was wondering if anyone knew of a good spot to watch the game around fellow Saints fans. The Globe looks quite good.
  23. I think they're quite good.
  24. It very much is their business, but ok.
