The Times also saying Hughes is "likely to be given one more match to turn things around – against Manchester United on Saturday – but another defeat could spell the end of his eight-month spell in charge"
Dominate's the wrong word, I just mean he and Lemina are guaranteed a starting place. Romeu at his best is far better defensively than either of them but we haven't seen it from him since Puel left.
Got to feel for him. I'd never question his attitude and it's not like he's been much worse than most of our players, just plays in a position where Hojbjerg and Lemina clearly dominate.
I assume he plays because we insist on having a left-footed defender on the left of the pair. That's the only reason I can think of, because the rest are right-footed aren't they?
Football has an emotional hold over people. It's the only thing some men get emotional about.
Imagine if Markus had died in a helicopter crash, because that's what this is like.
Two things I'll never forget about that game:
- the Vergini own goal
- the fact I'd become so bored of travelling to watch rubbish games against Sunderland home and away that I decided to give this one a miss!
Thanks folks - turned out there was a place called Cleos round the corner from me in East Village which had every PL game and some foreign stuff. Enjoyed everything except the game itself!
If we watched that team in perpetuity then the victories would start to lose their sweetness. Those great years created a sense of entitlement which lingers now.
I'm gonna be in Chicago for the Liverpool away game on the 22nd and was wondering if anyone knew of a good spot to watch the game around fellow Saints fans. The Globe looks quite good.
