  1. Nah, this was a few years ago when Blackpool were in the Prem. Beat them 2-0 at St Mary's and he curled it in from outside the box, top bin. His last goal was against Yeovil...and it was a pen.
  2. Shame the video doesn't include his goal against Blackpool in the cup a few years ago, that was a cracker. Someone who didn't want to be seen in the photo, clearly. Daniel Levy?
  3. I will be sad to see him go. A good servant and clearly a very popular guy around the training ground. A real shame that so many fans treated him as a joke. I hate hearing the ironic cheers whenever he makes a pass. Eh? Guly wrote the comment about missing people

    Dani Osvaldo

It's worth pointing out that there's no shame in struggling for games at Juventus. We wouldn't start Rickie Lambert if we had Tevez and Llorente in our team.
  5. And barely ever after that, for the next two or three seasons
  6. I don't think they are, necessarily. Certainly not Villa. I don't know much about Real Sociedad but I know enough about Arsenal, etc
  7. I always liked that Krueger.
  8. He's in and around England's first XI, playing in the Champions League and making a case to start centrally in the league's most competitive midfield. Without injuries he'd have made even more progress. If he has two injury-free seasons and still can't get into the Arsenal side regularly then he might consider a move. Even then, coming back to Southampton would be admitting defeat.
  9. Mitroglou, who's 1) been out of most games through injury and 2) is an entirely separate human being to Burak Yilmaz. Who knows, Mitroglou might make a cracking signing for someone in the Premier League! He hasn't had a chance yet.
  10. Vela is playing at the kind of level you'd hope Chamberlain will when he's 25, but Sociedad have nothing like Arsenal's money. Buying from Premier League rivals, especially big clubs, is massively expensive and it would be a ludicrous backwards step for Alex. Vela wouldn't be easy at all but there's not a hope in hell of us signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain back. That would be bizarre, £3.3m is no money at all. They would have brought him back by now, methinks.
  11. If we could get him I still think Carlos Vela is the dream signing. Doesn't strengthen the central strikers but having Vela, Lallana, Rodriguez, Davis and Ramirez to choose from behind him would be mouth-watering. And would compensate if Rodriguez doesn't come back the same, Ramirez leaves or underperforms, Lallana leaves... What I don't really know is how easy he would be to secure. Sociedad don't pay particularly high wages, I don't think, but they commanded a huge price from Real Madrid for Illaramendi.
  12. Yeah, I'm not sure what that means. Marching bands? Roaming hot dog vendors?

Four, if they all came in a run of games. Fans will forgive anyone who scores - it's more about the players and whether he'll be welcomed back into the squad. I very much doubt it.
  14. Reminds me of that story about Rickie Lambert and the Mars bar from a few years ago...
  15. He's spoken very openly (quite disrespectfully, in fact) about his desire to move to a Champions League club. If nobody at that level goes in for him (of the English clubs I can only imagine Arsenal being interested) we *might* be able to convince him that we're much closer to achieving that than Swansea. It would be expensive though. Chances are he'll spend another year with them and hope he can impress enough to secure a bigger move. He'd be an absolutely quality signing but he's openly admitted to using Swansea as a stepping stone and would doubtless do the same with us if he keeps playing well. 16. He's terrific. Our media team are very good all round Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. You may remember that we tried to sign a striker last summer. If Osvaldo had worked out Gallagher wouldn't be starting yet, simple as that. Oh Christ tonight mate. Was Daniel Sturridge good enough to play at Chelsea? Players improve with experience and opportunities. Good managers who want to blood youngsters find the balance and give the kids as many opportunities as possible without hurting the team's chances in games. Gallagher has come through faster than we had planned because Osvaldo got loaned out. Harry Reed would be getting more games if Schneiderlin, Wanyama and Davis all had long term injuries. That's how it works.
  18. Haha, come on Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Forget the championship, people were writing him off last season in the top flight! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Townsend would light up playing every week for Palace. Spurs isn't an easy team to get into, especially under Sherwood who plays two strikers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Haha! He'd be like an upgraded Puncheon to start with but he has huge potential. I'd take him for sure but he's not gonna come to us unless he's a makeweight for someone else, so no thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. When's the last time a manager did a photoshoot on the pitch humping the grass and screaming the name of the club? Declaring a decision to stay weakens his position when negotiating a transfer budget and contract. I mean, imagine this: he tells the press he loves the club and wants to stay, we all rejoice. Then we sit him down and say he'll be given no money and 3 or 4 key players will be sold. In that case he would - understandably - want to leave. From there his options would either be to stay at a stagnating club or leave with a tarnished reputation*. If the club aren't initiating talks till the end of the season then he'd be a complete idiot to say anything. * for the record, I don't believe there's a chance in hell that any of that will happen - it's just to illustrate the dangers of being so open to the press It'll all kick off if Guardiola becomes irreconcilable at Bayern as well. Barcelona might want him back and United might try to stall Van Gaal at the last minute

  24. Fair to say 99% of this can be ignored
