It would work in our favour if Barkley replaced Barry like-for-like. Martinez is a master adapter but I don't know if he can afford to leave James McCarthy on his own in there, even if Barkley chips in. Osman's played centrally before, right?
-
Must say I feel sorry for your lot today. Once our first goal went in quite a few stopped playing and by the end nobody was trying at all. Very much liked the look of your young left-back John though.
-
Ah really? Excellent. Who's gonna go in there if Gibson's still out?
-
I very much like the look of Harry Maguire. Not the kind of solid, dependable cover we need right now mind Schmeichel won't come to sit on the bench and I don't like his attitude either, but he's a good keeper. Whoever signs Will Hughes to a long contract wins, but we're fine in that area.
-
He's bloody great, one of the best in the league. England don't play to his strengths quite like Arsenal but he'd walk into my team.
-
I was given this yesterday as well - absolutely superb. Getting lost in it already.
-
I took 'no more surprises' to mean no more callups for players who haven't been in the last few squads. Rodriguez is in there, just about, but will have to play very well and consistently to get himself over the line. Looking more and more like Lallana will be there, though some of his competition is returning from injury (Walcott)

Great away performance and other results have all gone our way. Only downside is losing Morgan for Everton, but Tim Howard's suspension helps compensate. We're guaranteed to be at least ninth after the Chelsea game unless Stoke win two on the bounce and make up 17 goal difference.

Rickie Lambert back in his own box to head out from open play, 88 minutes. That's brilliant. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Cardiff have been really poor but we look good. Gazzaniga's done well besides the cocky attempted clearance. First game we haven't missed Wanyama. Cardiff play wide so Cork and Morgan can pick up on mistakes and instantly launch attacks, often via Davis. If we can make it four or it's still 3 with 25 left, give Ramirez and Gallagher some time off the bench Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well indeed, but we don't know how fit (or even how good) Davis is at the moment.
-
There's a case to be made for stability in goal as well, when you've made three changes to the back four.

The official Twitter's corrected the teamsheet
-
Long as we're confident and organised (I know, I know...) I don't think we have too much to fear from open play. We'll miss Lovren at set-pieces big time though.
-
They've corrected the teamsheet to include Kelvin on the bench ahead of Cropper. Cardiff: Marshall, Taylor, Caulker ©, Turner, Theophile-Catherine; Whittingham, Gunnarsson, Mutch, Noone; Odemwingie, Campbell Subs: Lewis; Hudson, Cornelius, Kim, Cowie, Maynard, John Didn't realise Medel's out, that's good news. Big money striker Cornelius back on the bench after injury

No Lovren!? What the bloody 'eck's going on? Must be a virus going round.

EXCLUSIVE: Manchester United plan to sign Adam Lallana
DuncanRG replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
They do need someone who can permanently operate from the position that Rooney tends to drift back into. A creative central player, the type everyone thought Kagawa would be. Lallana has the potential for that role but they've previously bid for Modric and Herrera, and should have been after Ozil or Cabaye if you ask me. -
I can't believe that made the front page splash of The Sun. I suspect David Dinsmore grew attached to the (admittedly fantastic) headline
-
Dead boring this We all know our form isn't good enough, we need to think about how it'll pick up. Step one is getting our best players back in which has already started
-
This was always my favourite
-
I really enjoyed David Meyler ignoring Danny Welbeck's attempt to start a scrap just then. Pretty poor standard in this game but Moyes bringing on Januzaj for an injured right back is a very United move. Not the kind he'd have pulled at Everton! EDIT: What a goal from Rooney, bloody 'eck. 2 all now, 25 minutes gone
-
I don't think Lambert will have a fruitful afternoon if he's alone up top against Caulker. He and Medel tend to keep those types very quiet - I'd be tempted to give Rodriguez a similar role to the second half at Newcastle.

EXCLUSIVE: Manchester United plan to sign Adam Lallana
DuncanRG replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
As good a signing as Lallana would be for United, I doubt the fans would accept them throwing stupid money at him unless they were putting greater resources into securing bigger and better players. As we know, there's no higher markup on player value than on a young Englishman in the January transfer window. There's very little appreciation for the idea that Lallana will leave but not now. If he fulfils his immense potential then it's inevitable he'll move on... but in January, after half a season on top form and with a job half done at the team he leads? I really don't see it happening. If he does aspire to play at that level then he'll be confident enough in his abilities to know he'll get a better offer further down the line. United right now is a big risk compared to a certified Champions League team in the summer/next summer/the summer after. -
Carlos Vela linked to southampton for 20 million
DuncanRG replied to killer fan's topic in The Saints
League stats since he moved to Sociedad: 2013-14: 16 games, 8 goals, 5 assists 2012-13: 36 games, 14 goals, 9 assists 2011-12: 35 games, 12 goals, 7 assists The guy's 24 and turning into an absolute stunner of a player. A three or four year contract would see him reach his peak at Southampton. I have no idea whether a move is realistic or £20m would be the right price but he is outstanding.
