  1. Agreed, man of the match with Dawson and Sigurdsson. Amazing pace when he's allowed to show it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Awful today, but ho-hum. Nothing we can do about it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Lost the midfield today. We lacked our usual passing discipline and gave the Spurs men opportunities to spread us across the pitch, which works hugely in their favour with a slower back four. Hooiveld and Fox were poor, but we should bear in mind they were up against one of the quickest moving and quickest thinking counterattacking teams in the league. Lovren struggled too. Must give them credit for their touch, skill and instinctive movement. They punished our deficiencies. I look forward to reading a tactical breakdown of the game, something wasn't quite right there and the substitutions were strange. To be honest the most disappointing part of today's game was seeing our back four yelling and arguing with one another. We conceded two abysmal goals but even under Adkins we stuck together as a group. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. What a humble guy Lallana is. You can tell he's over the moon that the club is doing so well and that he's been allowed a part in it. I don't have much of an opinion on Morgan playing for England, but he'd be a boost to the team for sure.
  5. This is a truly phenomenal effort - you guys epitomise the spirit of football clubs. Next time I have some cash lying around I'll try to pick up this and In That Number.
  6. Erm, there's not gonna be any Saints players. How many from the Premier League so far?
  7. It depends. I'd rather play Cardiff under Mackay or a caretaker than a new permanent manager, who normally gives the team a boot up the arse in the first couple of games.
  8. Just took a look at his management record... 1986–1988 Malatyaspor 1988–1989 Antalyaspor 1989 Samsunspor 1989–1990 Bursaspor 1990–1991 Karşıyaka S.K. 1991 Adanaspor 1991–1993 Bursaspor 1993–1994 Gaziantepspor 1995–1996 Eskişehirspor 1996–1997 Sarıyer 1997 Trabzonspor 1997–1998 Gençlerbirliği 1998–1999 Konyaspor 1999 Dardanelspor 1999–2000 Bursaspor 2000–2001 Denizlispor 2001 Diyarbakırspor 2003–2004 Adanaspor 2004 Çaykur Rizespor 2005 Ankaragücü 2005–2007 Antalyaspor 2008 Manisaspor 2008–2009 Kocaelispor 2009–2010 Kasımpaşa S.K. 2011 Konyaspor 2012 Sakaryaspor 2012–2013 Elazığspor Stability then, yeah?
  9. Cardiff and Hull should play behind closed doors to remind them of what football's like without any fans.
  10. Vincent Tan is an absolute loon. I wonder whether Cardiff fans might be the ones who are brave enough to kick up a serious stink against the guy who bankrolls them. Mackay will get a better job and do just fine. Wonder whether Tan might look at Steve Clarke?
  11. Spurs lineup tonight: Lloris; Walker, Chiriches, Capoue, Rose; Lennon, Dembele, Sigurdsson, Townsend; Adebayor, Defoe A lot rested but some first-teamers in there. Shame Chiriches is back but he might not be able to play two in a week
  12. Playing European football is a dream, even if it is a lesser dream than winning trophies - and it's not easy either Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Exactly, you're right. And he's not gonna be one of those types! What makes it harder is that those ideal, reliable backups often slide down the ranks at their current club - and either way these changes happen over summer. I think Jääskeläinen will be the Schwarzer/Friedel-esque figure in a couple of years - doesn't solve our problem now but I'd love to have him if West Ham get relegated.
  14. If the choice is Cesar or no keeper then I'd obviously take him, but I don't think he's the right man for us. Wages aside, he's not better than Boruc and he wouldn't sit quietly on the bench during a World Cup year. Could be disruptive - but I suppose we wouldn't sign him if we didn't trust he'd fit in.
  15. What would you do instead?
  16. It's the World Cup. Building a new system for the Euros comes when this tournament's out of the way!
  17. I doubt he'll be judged by the League Cup game alone, though he'll obviously want to get off to a good start. Sunday will be more important.
  18. You've been seeing this week how the movements of the UK government might betray the European Union's core principle of free trade and movement. And not necessarily with positive consequences! EDIT: And if we did manage to bring in a national wage cap you'd be waving goodbye to half the country's top players.
  19. Bingo. You don't get too many incidents and never have, but they're important enough to be worth fixing. Instant offside judgements are the next thing as someone said, and that would have an enormous impact.
  20. Sounds about right actually
  21. He's top quality. Thing is, half of what's made Boruc such a success is the confidence and unity he brings to the back line, and it's hard to tell who could replicate that before they arrive. Begovic is better than Boruc technically but might not have that character about him. Perhaps the Stoke fans can give us their two cents?
  22. Probably in the top four. Liverpool are a better team than us but Suarez is one of those special players that you have to build the team around. If you don't then you're not using them to their full potential. There are only a handful of teams in Europe who wouldn't be 'ten blokes plus Suarez' with the form he's in
  23. Who says they're relying on it? Nothing wrong with doing both.
  24. If he's offered an even better one (He won't be)
