  1. I'd say their entire team has been top class and Ramsey is just the crown jewel. Some of their play has been world class and their defence is becoming meaner as well.
  2. I've been very impressed by the versatility of both the new manager and the players he inherited. He's tinkered with all kinds of different styles this season and the players have responded every time, which takes an intelligent squad as well as a dedicated and talented one. Cultivated a good team spirit as well.
  3. Kingsland North, £30. It's a concession but that doesn't make much difference now with the scanners. Can meet outside the ground! Email me at duncan dot geddes at hotmail.co.uk
  4. Same, and we'll probably both be in luck - I count three halves of football this season where we haven't (Norwich away, second half of Chelsea away)
  5. We're missing what Ramirez is meant to be. If we were missing what he is I should think he'd be playing regularly. Agreed. I love the spirit and togetherness that Cortese has cultivated here, particularly since he started the run of contract extensions last season. We came through it as a team last year and will come through it this time as well, no doubt.
  6. We'll certainly compete. City are starting to hit their stride but their away form is still shakey so if we can keep things tight we've got a chance. Shame that Kompany's back as well, but is he ready for two games in a week?
  7. Big fan of this post, haha
  8. Not sure about this - only one goal was scored from distance tonight and we probably had more efforts from distance than in any other game this season. Rodriguez, Lambert, Osvaldo, Cork and Davis all had shots and a couple of them were decent efforts. Plus point for me today was that Osvaldo got a goal and looked threatening. Silly to get himself booked but otherwise a bit more promising.
  9. He wasn't too bad but it does at least demonstrate the difference Wanyama makes when he's in the team. Why did he go off, anyway? Feel like I missed something.
  10. So...you're expecting them to?
  11. Not to alarm anyone, but City's away form has picked up a little as well. Winning 3-0 at the Hawthorns...
  12. Incredibly frustrating result, can hardly believe we lost. Despite a few defensive errors and less than progressive play in midfield we deserved to win and on any other day we would have done. Oh well, need to keep our heads cause it's City next.

  14. He's only just come back from injury and was off the pace against Sunderland. Kozak looks decent so with two games in 4 days they can afford to drop him
  15. I don't think the media team know the team selection that far in advance! Reed's looked promising in the League Cup games but it's a tough position and he's hardly had any minutes in the Premier League. I'd expect a few run-outs from the bench (possibly tonight/as long as Morgan's out) before he's in contention to start.
  16. Yes! This is the role I hope Schneiderlin can fill more this season.
  17. The Gaston of last season, yes. He's not even making the bench anymore so I can't imagine he could be considered an option for the first XI.
  18. If anyone else could help me out, my email address is duncan DOT geddes AT hotmail DOT co DOT uk Thanks!
  19. Good grief You know what else Chelsea and Arsenal were prime examples of? Playing away against two potential champions.
  20. Hahahaha christ on a bike lad
  21. We'd be quicker to say he's been poor but calling someone a waste of money is something else. I'd keep that label for the likes of Torres, Carroll and Chris Samba, not players who've played 9 games.
  22. That can work when you're away at the top teams, but it does mean the front three/four have to understand how to move and find each other quickly. Lallana, Rodriguez and Osvaldo were missing each other's runs (or making them too late) all afternoon
  23. Rearrange this sentence for your chance to win an iPad Mini
  24. I think it's a combination of the two. Decision making was undoubtedly his biggest problem (taking Azpilicueta round the outside, that shot from outside the box towards the end) but sometimes, even when the 'selfish' option was perfectly reasonable, he just didn't have the class to make it happen. Rather strange because he had more space today than in most of his previous games. Start him up front, alone, against Aston Villa and let's see what he can do. We'll have far more of the ball, more runs from midfield and (unlike the majority of his appearances this season) he'll be in his preferred position.
  25. Probably the most important question I forgot to ask: will we adjust our tactics to make sure everybody stays fit?
