Pepe Reina?

I did wonder this, out the back of the Christmas period as well. Not one to play all the kids in, capable as they are
-
Hate to be a pedant but Lallana was off for Ramirez by the end of the game Still, pretty exceptional. Hard to believe almost half of the matchday squad came from our academy.

A Dimitar Berbatov penalty is one of the great sights of the English game, love it

He moves the ball an awful lot quicker than Wanyama though. Defensively there's no comparison but Cork and Davis kept our best tempo of the season yesterday - and, in fact, that possession worked well as a defensive tactic. -
It'll be good to see Cork and Schneiderlin back together in midfield!
-
I was especially impressed by his attacking. At the start of the season he was cautious and kept it tight (which is understandable) but he was properly bombing it yesterday. Good feet and decent pace as well. Should have buried that header though...

Honestly, the moment he pulled a stepover at Old Trafford was the moment I fell in love.

Spurs will click at some point and you'd imagine United will as well, though I'm not sure they'll get the consistency they need to really climb back up the table. Too early to tell how Newcastle will do in the long term. I think we've got a chance of beating one or two of those teams.

Opinions are so polarised on here between wins and defeats but I honestly believe this team is closer to the clapper's view. Incredible spirit and quality in all departments Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Agreed. Cork and Davis are adding a lot of dynamism and Lallana/Rodriguez are finding little pockets of space all the time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Takes it down from a ball over the top, moves into the area, evades three defenders and loops it into the top corner. Two inches out and it's hit the bar or saved. Top class Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Competing as we always do. Good to see but we've gotta make it count! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Being pulled out of shape too easily here - Cork's chasing shadows Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They might rest one or two but they've already qualified, and they'd have to beat Bayern by 3 goals to win the group. Wouldn't expect any key players out today...and besides, they've got a pretty deep squad!
-
Haven't heard about him in a while. Probably the last position that needs strengthening.

It's filmed in Archie's playroom, some nice drawings on the walls with a conservatory and garden in the back...

I read an interesting book by a psychologist called Daniel Kahneman which pointed out that the 'curse of Sports Illustrated' (ie if you're performing well enough to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated) is inevitable, because to earn that recognition you have to be unusually good. After that you 'regress to the mean', making you look worse by comparison. The probability of someone outdoing themselves and maintaining that level henceforth is verfy slim. It would be a pretty dramatic drop if we get beat more than once in the next few games though...

EDIT: never mind

Okay. I would concede he was not one of our sources, but he did get an assist... EDIT: And could easily have had two more - he played it into Lallana twice for big chances. -

Just watched the extended highlights on Saints Player. Anyone doubting our attacking performance needs their head checked. Some lovely football and good chances from a variety of sources.
