  1. Osvaldo will - and should - be back in next week.
  2. Lallana would be worth a go over Cleverley if they played the same position but, alas, they don't. Milner always performs for England and he's been good when he's appeared for City as well. There's a balance to be struck between club form and international experience, because you need some consistency of faces in the squad.
  3. Clyne lacks end product, not getting ahead of Johnson for me. Outside shout for the squad. Lallana would be good value for a friendly game to see what he can do. Nobody else earning it for me at the moment, besides Lambert obviously.
  4. Disappointed not to see him getting on today, but if Guly's coming on ahead of him you have to think he's not pulling his weight. A real shame, but considering the success of our selections, tactics and substitutions this season we have to trust Pochettino.
  5. One of the easiest games we'll have all season, won at a canter. Some great play, especially from Lallana, and Rodriguez almost served up the kind of worldie goal we've yet to see since we got promoted.
  6. Lewandowski's going to Bayern isn't he?
  7. Worth noting the Mirror are running what appears to be an exclusive on Fernando Llorente's desire to leave Juve in January. Looks like they have a source within the club.
  8. 86 pacey wingers
  9. Remember guys: just cause it tickles our scrotes doesn't mean it's true! (What's scary is I think most of this hysteria has some basis in reality, though)
  10. Bing bing bing You found the stupid bit, he's been here seven games!

    Osvaldo

I wouldn't go that far. It's more that doubt seems to set in quicker when the fans can't relate to the character, which is naturally more difficult with foreign players.

    Osvaldo

I'm suggesting that expensive foreign players have to be very good very quickly (Lovren) to offset a raft of doubters (the types that followed Ramirez, now follow Osvaldo and Wanyama). Fans are more patient and far more forgiving with English players. Luckily most are on the right side of reason with our new signings!

    Osvaldo

Not a sizeable one There was all sorts of whining when Puncheon went though. He's likeable, London lad and all that. Ramirez is foreign and expensive, and therefore not to be trusted. Same as Osvaldo and Wanyama.
  14. It will depend on whether a deal pops up. I wouldn't want to let Ramirez go unless there's a suitable replacement available, which is not always the case in January. I'd be happy with a stronger backup in goal and more certainty at left back, be that via transfers or movement within the club.
  15. It drives me nuts how fans at games think they know better. Fans only get a better view when the ball's somewhere along the perimeter and on the outside of the players. With 50 angles and and slow motion it's easy for TV pick out problems but, for all our huffing and puffing this season I don't think I've ever judged a significant call better than the ref in real time. It's fair to say standards could be higher, but fans in the stands are not to be the judges.
  16. It's really kicked into gear in the last few weeks after a stodgy opening. Plenty of goals now, and Arsenal in particular are a joy to watch. Only a couple of teams I don't enjoy watching. I hope four or five teams continue to keep pace at the top. I would hate to see league dominated by Utd replaced with one dominated by City.
  17. United's chances were much closer/more entertaining to watch than ours so I can understand why a lot of ours had to go. It was a tight show for time last night but just one or two other bits (Schneiderlin's run for example) would have left a better impression. That's probably why the post-match was Saints-centric.
  18. He is outstanding defensively and has made an enormous difference to our team in that regard. He deserves as much credit as Lovren and Fonte for our strength at the back. I can't count the number of times yesterday when it looked like we were going to get caught in possession, no way out for the guy on the ball and up popped Victor to take it simple and move it on into space. His passing and decision making are still issues but he's young and raw. As a black, foreign, big money player he sadly doesn't get the lenience any of our English boys would in the same situation but he'll get there.
  19. Great day and what a buzz when we scored! One of the best away vibes since we came back up. A big thank you to the chap who sorted me out with a ticket - you'll have to forgive me but I can't remember your name! Regarding the game: -Sad to see that Osvaldo is becoming a victim of his pricetag. He wasn't really at it today but still could have scored -Clyne and Lallana were really dangerous on the right hand side though Januzaj's lack of defensive presence helped in that regard -Wanyama was everywhere, as always, but he could be twice if the player if you could rely on him to land a pass -Tactics were perfect. Right subs at the right times - a shame we didn't have Ramirez as an option instead of Guly but hey-ho.
  20. Win today and we're in business, but the media attention will be irritating. I'd still be delighted with a point.
  21. Steady on, he's only had one season in the top flight!
  22. Immense credit to him for going out and giving 90 minutes at Anfield - I didn't put two and two together at the time of the attack. He really is an inspiration. Interesting to note that he rates Shaw as our best player as well
  23. I'm after a single ticket, worth a shot if anyone has one that they can't sell as a pair. Message me or call/text on 07934 902 807
  24. Hard to believe this couldn't have been avoided. Hope everyone who'd booked travel and accommodation gets their money back.
  25. Were there really no British players in that game!? If he's just got us confused then it's hardly the most heinous of mistakes to make.
