  1. I think our depth this season and last is as good as it's ever been. Only problem at the moment is up front and possibly backup to Romeu. Four dependable centre halves is fine, and we have utility players in Martina and Pied. Plus Ward-Prowse and Davis can play all across midfield if we need them to. We actually have five players who can play right back - Cedric, Martina, Pied and Yoshida, plus Targett who has filled in there before albeit not that convincingly.
  2. The club will be reluctant to go for a striker with January's inflated prices. Unless we can bag a deal like Austin, or there are long-term injuries, I think we'll settle for what we have, maybe recall Gallagher from loan.
  3. Moyes won't care one jot about this game, so if Puel takes enough interest we really should be winning.
  4. Really were dirty today. I remember a cynical swipe from behind which somehow escaped a booking as well as the Gundogan tackle that's been mentioned. MOTD was right to highlight our composure launching counterattacks just now. Escaping that Guardiola press ain't easy but Romeu, Clasie and Hojbjerg all picked the right passes.
  5. Be good to see Boufal get 90 minutes. Could he and Hesketh play together?

  7. Just the one, if there are any available!
  8. Willing to split and sell one?
  9. Proud of our fans out there. Let's get them at St Mary's
  10. Come off your line Fraser!
  11. And it should have been! They were there for the taking. Fancy us to equalise though
  12. That's the luck we needed. Into these Saints!
  13. Didn't wanna say anything, but I saw that coming. Time to stand up and be counted
  14. Looks like it. If Martina had Austin to aim at we'd be ahead by now. Should be anyway really!
  15. I remember saying after West Ham that we wouldn't face such poor defending all season. Turns out I was wrong.
  16. Get ourselves together and these are totally beatable. Romeu has been great so far but not clicking going forward yet. Miss Davis and Austin.
  17. The latter, but Bravo could be vulnerable. Energy levels permitting we should get in his face.
  18. God, the Inter fans must be utterly miserable
  19. Think I'd dispute that Romeu is more intelligent. Wanyama was always in the right place and Romeu has a habit of going into challenges when he should stand firm.
  20. This game isn't as important as the JPT final as the result is of less consequence, but as a symbolic moment they rank alongside each other. I'm gutted to be missing it.
  21. And the answer will be no. Living costs have outstripped wage growth for years and a change wasn't really on the horizon before Brexit. Adding the weaker pound to the mix makes it even harder, for all the potential advantages it brings.
  22. Exactly what I thought. There's nothing better than watching an academy boy thrive and Koeman didn't really deliver any of those moments. Maybe he would have done had Hesketh stayed fit.
  23. Eh? That's really not how I remember it. His passing was poor for the first stretch but he had an instant impact on our defence which didn't leave us for his whole stay here. If Romeu plays as well as he is at the moment for three years, then he might be better than Wanyama. Long way to go.

Feel free to suggest a reason that makes all the abuse worth it. It's not rape, it's behaviour that should be discouraged and is rightly criticised. You were asking why Evans is still criticised for being a slimeball despite being cleared of any crime. (Interesting interview with Evans in the Sunday Times today, by the way. A little more contrite than usual) That would be well and good if it was a balanced judgement. Unfortunately there are far too many cases of women being quizzed about what they were wearing, how much they'd had to drink, being laughed at and disrespected. These are problems you don't get when you say you've been robbed or assaulted. Believing someone when they report a crime is not incompatible with presumption of innocence - you treat the accuser with the seriousness and respect they deserve while you collect evidence. If there's not enough, so be it. In a case like this they probably can't, though it's unwise to speculate if you weren't in the courtroom. I'm talking more about the vast majority of rapes which never make it to trial. Proving rape in court comes later, I'm talking about the investigation stage. When people ask for victims to be believed, they only want them to be taken as seriously as people who report other crimes. That doesn't happen enough at the moment.

I'm highlighting the reason this is a false equivalence. The predominant reason rape victims are not believed is misogyny. That is inescapable.
