  1. Well the relationship should be mutually beneficial. What is the point in the club investing 10 years of time, resources, and money for a player to walk away from the club, the moment he is on the verge of the first-team? Shaw should be grateful to the club for honing his talent and giving him a massive opportunity in life. Why should the club be grateful to him for not walking away at the very first opportunity?

Probably just trying to take some of the flak off of Dejan and Adam to be fair. A bit misguided really considering the board granted him his dream move for supposedly sentimental reasons.

  4. Looks a decent player but he's getting on a bit. The likes of Man City could afford to pay £8m for a 29-year old utility player, but not sure we can. Should be looking for players aged below 25 IMO, already spent a lot of money on two over 27.

  6. Already doing training with the ball so would surprise me if he is out for another month. Nice to see him call Koeman an 'extraordinary man' though...bodes well.

  10. Watched it on Sky and the new Tadic song was the one I heard the loudest. Although we've just nicked it from Twente, it sounded decent.

  12. Don't know why we should be grateful, we developed him since the age of 8, it's the very least he owed us.

  14. Largely agree with that but I'd give JWP a 7 and Davis a 6. Thought that JWP was one of our better players, especially in the second-half when he was used more centrally. Feel his assets are wasted out on the right and we looked more balanced when he switched positionally with Davis. Pelle needs to be more aggressive and sharpen his decision making, I thought he was carried through the game a bit. Hopefully he won't take too long to adapt, a goal in the next couple of games would do his confidence wonders. Bertrand was very solid, Wanyama a beast, Fonte assured, Morgan not at his best, Davis wasteful. Tadic's assist was outrageous - just a shame that bit of skill at Lovren's expense didn't get us any points. Massively encouraged by that performance though.

  16. We shouldn't be doing any business with Spurs. Don't want to open the door for Poch and Levy to get their slithery hands over Morgan.

  18. Andrew Halford speculating on twitter that the lad might have depression. Sad if true, but I'd sooner diagnose Halford with pseudologia fantastica.
  19. Good to see Gardos training with a football in the image gallery. Surely can't be too long before he is available for selection?
  20. Ship and Mitre is class, quality selection of ales. Used to live the next road over from Dale St. (Victoria St.) so was in there quite a bit. Loads of quality bars in that area - Lady of Mann has a decent courtyard if the weather is good, and there is also Bier Keller if you like your Weissbier.
  21. Glad I'm not the only one to struggle with that.
  22. He tweeted to gain maximum public exposure after our Chairman had publicly stated he was not for sale. Difficult to believe he would have tweeted after a private meeting as what currency would the tweet have otherwise? No one would know what the fudge he was on about. The timing was deliberate and follows a tactic used by the likes of Lovren and Shaw - albeit to a lesser extent, with his tweets about Williams/Dodds sacking after he had already told the club he wanted to leave - to use social media to put pressure on the club.
  23. Ha, do you think footballers live in a hermetically sealed world where nothing said in the public domain affects their mood/morale? Only have to look at Morgan's reaction to Krueger's talkSPORT/Sky Sports interviews for that. I can only judge personally on what was said in public, but compared to say Pellegrini's handling of the Hart/Cabellero situation, I thought Koeman could have done more to foster genuine competition between our two goalkeepers.
  24. Don't think Koeman handled the situation particularly well. Forster was a target when Pochettino was in charge so he may well be getting directive from above, but still, he could have been a bit more diplomatic in the way he handled talk of competing for the no. 1 spot. Will be incredibly frustrating if Boruc wants out as we are effectively back to square one on the goalkeeping front. Probably need to go in for someone a bit younger with potential, like Alex McCarthy at Reading, if we want genuine competition there. Turf Gazzaniga out on loan and have KD as third choice.
