Fixtures out tomorrow - who will we get first game?
Toon Saint replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
I'll miss the first two games, balls. Happy with that though. Even happier when I saw Liverpool's first 6 away games. -
His movement is wooden, he constantly mistimes his aerial 'challenges' (if they deserve that term) and he is infuriatingly over-elaborate with his chested/back-heeled lay-offs. Probably a fraction more of a threat than Lambert is between the posts, but he's much less of an all - round player.
-
Best is Morgan. Most potential is Mane.
-
I Google imaged 'Dom Gape' and I'm a little confused.
-
Lol. Mayuka and Reed in CM for Saturday then.
-
Good job I'm going end of February then ;-)
-
Cheers for the advice. I will check it out!

Heading there with the gf end of Feb for her birthday. Stupidly booked the Ryanair flights without realising just quite how far away the airport is - though compared to other flight times it shouldn't make too much difference in terms of time lost. Only there for 2 nights/3 days so would appreciate any advice on places to go/things to see. Any hotel recommendations would be welcome as well. Ta x

Van Gaal - "a lot of Saint players were offered to us"
Toon Saint replied to Plumstead_Saint's topic in The Saints
Mayuka and Gazzaniga, I hope. -
We had a massive height advantage over Villa tonight, can't help but feel JWP would have made that count. Morgan and Tadic's set pieces were bordering on woeful.
-
Frustrating game. Forster very shaky. Pelle was as quiet as I've seen him. Quality of delivery very poor from set pieces and in general play. Build up play from midfield was often too slow and would have been nice to see Cork given more than a few minutes. But we remained patient and scored another stunner in a game we probably would have lost last season. Hope Davis gets fit for City game as we really missed his guile tonight.

Saints prepare new contract for Nathaniel Clyne
Toon Saint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
You'd hope that we would have thought to offer him a new deal regardless of interest from elsewhere. In other news, Brendan Rodgers is a tit. -
Hope the black box has an 'autopilot' function.
-
You'll never take our black box! This story just makes me lol at Spurs, Poch and Levy. Bit of an indictment of their own transfer policy, and suggests once again that Mr. Levy is bereft of ideas and imagination. Funny that the cult of the individual continues unabated despite our successes this summer.
-
Lol at the Sky Sports coverage of the recruitment team. Paul Mitchell repeatedly asked whether 'this was the place you would spot someone like Graziano Pelle & Dusan Tadic, and convince the manager to sign them'. Think Koeman formed an opinion on both without use of the 'black box'.

Great tribute, but wasn't sure about Krueger referring to Markus Liebherr's 'monstrous heart'.

Just as I was checking out with a ticket for my Dad it booted me out. Anyone with a ticket going spare?

Kate Terry from Apple starting to show her potential.

Big Vic so quick and slick.

He needs to become more media savvy and shed the wide-boy image, but he definitely has potential as a coach and made quite a lot of these points while at Spurs, which was refreshing to hear. Levy is a joke of Chairman; a complete narcissist puffed up on his own sense of self-importance with little talent for implementing long-term strategy. The man is like a pendulum, swinging from one hair-brained idea to the next with no patience to ever see it through. Sherwood recognised that and wasn't afraid to say as much (in slightly more restrained terms) once he knew he was getting the chop. I know he often spoke about the difference in 'pressure' between managing at Saints or Spurs, but fair to say, he was probably quite envious of Poch's lot and the support he was provided with. A penny for Senior Pochettino's thoughts now...

When will the media stop writing 'despite losing......in the summer'
Toon Saint replied to Saintru's topic in The Saints
The media like creating/sustaining narratives, so probably no time soon. -
Judging from his instagram feed, Guly seems to be more flâneur than footballer nowadays. I noticed that Fonte left a comment the other day about hoping that 'things work out for him soon'. Surprised he hasn't got a club sorted as he'd definitely offer something at Championship level (maybe even for a relegation threatened PL team) but aside from appearing in awful Brazilian rap videos, he just seems to be doing a lot of travelling and little training. If he doesn't find another club I wonder whether we'd have any sort of role for him available at Saints? The first-team squad obviously miss his presence, but then again, not too sure he would be decent coaching material like Jaidi. Anyone aware of his situation?
-
What about if he is seen to block the "pathway" for the likes of JWP and Harrison Reed? LR seemed to put a big emphasis on that in his recent presentation.
-
Cheers Monk. Any word on contract extensions for Clyne and J-Rod?

Anyone know what's happened with Sam's knee injury? I see from his personal twitter account that he had an operation on Oct 21st but haven't heard any news from the club on the nature of the injury, and when he is expected back. I'm guessing it is something he has aggravated in training recently and the staff have decided an operation is the best course.
