I was behind the goal (level with the crossbar) in Milton Road end for that game. I can make out my Dad's bald dome (in the yellow jumper) in the photo used in the Guardian article. I'm sat to his left, aged 10, face obscured by the crossbar. Still the best game I've ever watched as a Saints fan. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think Stuart Armstrong will happen - he's been consistently linked over a period of time and we always seem to let Celtic sort out their CL qualification before doing business. Might see some movement on that one at back end of next week. Then I'd still like to see two more in - a DCM and a CB - assuming no key players leave. We still have plenty of time, but as you say very quiet on the rumour front. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think my problem is that I only ordered membership earlier today so the credits don't seem to have applied to my account yet. I might have to wait until the system refreshes itself - whenever that will be. Anyone with any info on how long their membership £10 credit took to apply? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Anyone managed to use £5 membership discount for Swansea game using the website? Can't for the life of me work out how to do it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Getting someone like Sanchez in would be good succession planning for when VvD does leave - a bit like when we brought Romeu in when we knew Wanyama would be going the following summer. I'm guessing Bednarek will mostly play in the u23's next year so it will give us a season to bed both him and any long-term VvD replacement in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

He liked the birthday message from FC Groningen which was tweeted after Saints message so that is probably telling. Bit pathetic a 26 year old staging a sulk over social media against the club who pays him very handsomely and has made him captain. Pretty sure Celtic made him stay another season against his will but he got on with it. Needs to do the same with us, otherwise Pellegrino should review who wears the armband - I got sick of Fonte sulking his way through half of last season as captain, so don't want the same again. Other Premier League Transfers - Deadline Day
Toon Saint replied to Lighthouse's topic in The Saints
Lukaku transfer puts into focus how cheaply we let Mane go. Barely a struggle and sold right at the beginning of the window to the first bidder. At least we seem to have toughened up this summer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
He can be great on his day and he definitely had his most consistent season last time out. Still, he can be capable of some awfully dozy moments that ultimately cost matches - I'm thinking of that Andy Carroll equalising goal in the game we ended up losing to West Ham at home, where he could have snuffed the through ball out but just let it pass under his foot, seemingly completely unaware of the danger or anything going on around him. Don't think his concentration levels are good enough to ever be a nailed on starter IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I saw some references to an article in the printed version of Le Parisien earlier (apparently stating we were frontrunners for his signature) but unclear if that article itself is a re-hash of the Sun article. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Who is this Murray Groves fella and what is a football associate? Looks like a stock image profile and not followed by anyone of note. I'd say ignore. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sad to see him go but too many false dawns. I thought he'd crack on after that away game vs Bournemouth but he never really looked like sustaining any form despite being given a lot of chances. Good that we are making a profit on him despite him having the best part of two seasons in the wilderness. Hopefully it works out for him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Away on a stag do this weekend but just to recap and make sure I have this correct... According to various media reports, we were actively considering German candidates including Tuchel and Schmidt. But we never had any serious interest in Tuchel after he ruled himself out of the job. And of course we only had a quick glance at Roger Schmidt, because he has already left for a club in China. Now there is mysteriously no German candidate involved on a very short short list of FdB and Pellegrino. FdB we so nearly appointed last year but chickened out because of perceived bias towards Dutch people. Mauricio Pellegrino is unemployed and sounds a lot like one of our previous managers so naturally warrants an interview. A mystery candidate is thrown in the hat to excite and from the previous fluff about looking to Germany for an appointment. Oracle Les always has 5-6 managers he's considering at any one time should the current incumbent leave. But all those managers happen to be unemployed and therefore showing no current signs of why they might be a good manager at all. Very conveniently, and coincidentally of course, it does mean we won't have to pay any compensation! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wilson mentions other German managers we will be considering other than Tuchel. Nagelsmann? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Puel will be licking his lips at those opening 11 games. So many interesting possibilities for 0-0's in there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Puel Sacked? - As Reported by Crook of Sh*t
Toon Saint replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Puel had already left Nice so was a free agent. Nigel was the last in work. It's not just the managers we appoint it appears to be everyone we consider for the position has to be already out of work. Why limit ourselves to a pool of the unemployed if Les says he always has his eye on four or five mangers he likes the look of? Surely we should just approach the best man for the job and not be rummaging around the bargain bin for a gem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Puel Sacked? - As Reported by Crook of Sh*t
Toon Saint replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
By the way, why do our managerial shortlists always comprise out-of-work managers? Are we that worried about paying compensation that we wouldn't approach the best possible candidate for the job if he was in another role? Other clubs above us and below us in the league pyramid seem to have no truck with this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Someone needs to tell them that Schmidt has already moved on so needs to be discarded from shortlist. #snailspace Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Had to block that Will Britt as he kept swamping my twitter feed with EDL nonsense. Wouldn't really worry about anything he has to say about Les Reed as he's clearly a bit dim. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
