  1. On the plus side, at least our strikers are starting to show some scoring form. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Patrick Vieira? Nicknamed 'Le grande saucisse'. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I watched a very average Sporting beat Rio Ave 1-0 earlier this year. Semedo didn't even get in the team. Our scouts have obviously seen something in him, but I wasn't too encouraged that he wasn't a first team regular at his age in that team. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Isn't wee Ross in Portugal at the moment? Might be time to cut the holiday short, quite a few things to be sorted at the club. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. If we get less than £60m for VvD it will be poor business IMO given the amount of competition for his signature and when factoring in that Celtic will be due their 10%. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Why do people think there will necessarily be an official announcement if Puel stays on? Surely that would be an admission his job was under threat and only put a ridiculous amount of pressure on him at the start of next season. Anyone remember how this outstanding character got on the following season after a 'positive' end of year review?: http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/confirmed-brendan-rodgers-stay-liverpool-9378954 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Never before a season has ended has so much emphasis been put on this end of season review in determining the managers fate. Even if Puel survives the review he's been undermined by how much attention the likes of Krueger and journo's like Jeremy Wilson have given the process - so effectively he'll be on a hiding to nothing when the new season starts. Given the majority of the fanbase want him out, various players are dissatisfied, and the board are clearly toying with the idea of sacking him, surely we should just get it over and done with. Puel's total lack of charisma is uninspiring enough, but if you remove his authority by effectively giving him the dreaded vote of confidence, you can see things unravelling pretty quickly among the squad. I just don't see the point in delaying things any longer and letting the uncertainty creep long into the summer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Spurs is a weird one. Thought it was Walker that was off and not Rose. What sort of money can we expect for Bertrand? £25-30m? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Except we played entertaining football under Adkins. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Not sure if he is stretching anything out but he is constantly looking down at his shoes and pulling up his socks once the ball goes into the opposition half. Seems like an OCD tic or something given the amount it occurs, and it's not as if his socks are down by his ankles. I've seen him caught out a few times when the opposition suddenly counterattack at pace (especially Spurs away) as he's too busy concentrating on his socks. Ridiculous really. 11. Many won't like this, but surely Brendan Rodgers would be the outstanding candidate should Puel depart. Committed to attacking football, tactically flexible, a big reputation for developing young players and is proven in the EPL. Sure he's a bit of a tit and has said some bizarre things about the club, but I'm sure most would get over that in time. I know he's a boyhood Celtic fan but you'd think the chance to prove himself back in the EPL would be too good to pass up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Iheanacho would be a marvellous signing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Desperate line up from Claude. Last roll of the dice? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Completely agree. Would love to see us just put up something of a fight to keep him. Mane fee was conditioned by the length of contract left, but no excuses not to demand £60m or no sale for VvD given the length of his deal. Do our business early and if we really feel we have to sell (we don't), then drag it out until the end of the window after a bidding war. Everyone knows we will meekly give in to the first willing suitor and sell for £50m on 1 July. Meanwhile every club we are negotiating with for players will bump up their prices, and we will spend the rest of the summer haggling away. So crushingly predictable. 15. The Times reporting that Lander have offered £190m and want 100% of the club. Close to Liebherr's valuation but she will retain a minority stake until Lander meet their commitments to financial investment. This lot won't go away... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. He scores them with his left foot, he sells them with a feint, he scored three at Wembley, to prove he was a Saint...
  17. We needed him to have a big game yesterday and he just offered more of the same. Parrying shots and crosses that he should be catching, poor positioning for free kicks, not getting down quick enough, poor distrubution, and not doing much in the way of shot-stopping either which used to be his forte. Agree with the above comments about De Gea and the JWP save, Forster would have let that one in. His highlight this year has been clearing a ball off the line that was a result of his own gaffe. I'd sell him this summer and replace with Tom Heaton but can't see any interested takers to be honest, especially with the wages he is supposedly on.
  18. Ross Wilson has a lot answer for. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Even if we get someone in before 1am, which is unlikely, if we were scrabbling around for Jordi Amat as a last minute loan, then the calibre of the player we bring in is likely to be utterly w@nk. Awful from Les and Ross. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Les has had 6 months since he knew Fonte wanted out to sort a replacement. Given the injury to Virgil 10 days ago you think that might've accelerated our search for a new CB, but the only concrete link appear to be us trying for a player already injured, in which the deal broke down. So poor...just completely undermines our chances in the EFL final. Puel should feel let down. No doubt we'll get some backslapping piece in the Torygraph in the next week or so discussing our amazing transfer policy and how we never panic buy. There doesn't appear to have been any future planning for Fonte's exit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Can't sleep. A few lines and JD's down listening to Doris Day on repeat. So proud of our team tonight. Romeu was immense Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Jose Fonte payday Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Not to mention having to rely upon Maya every game. While he has had a decent season by his standards, he should only ever be a squad player for us. Fear that if we get rid of VvD this summer we might be facing a similar situation to Swansea next year after losing Williams - fielding an inexperienced back line who have had no time to forge a partnership together. £10m is all very nice but Fonte has been the one constant in our defence over the last 7 years. What price for that experience?
  24. We could keep hold of him for another three seasons and still command a massive fee. Not sure why so many are resigned to him leaving this summer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Jay Rod is in there if you look closely at 00:15. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
