  1. Verbal seems to forget that he was suggesting that it was a Columbine style attack and that it was a conspiracy by the 'Republican Right' to suggest that it was a terrorist attack motivated by Islam. I think he is wide of the mark as are Pap's theories but I don't think they warranted such an outraged and angry attack. Pap is a likeable lefty and often comes up with interesting slants.
  2. I am really sorry MLG I should have looked harder. Maybe hospitality. Cheers
  3. Thanks for the idea but I needed two because one is for my young nephew
  4. I could not see any ticket information on the official site
  5. Pap the beauty of the freedom of speech is that people get to comment on what you say. The biggest threat to it is people talking crap. I rarely agreed with you but I always could just about see where you were coming from. This time you lost me!
  6. Well I interpreted Verbal's points as suggesting that the Boston Bombing was more closely associated to a Columbine style attack than a Islamist inspired attack. I am with the latter. I do not think there is a Republican Right conspiracy to portray the attack as a terrorist attack, I think it was. Anyway after what has happened to the poor people of Chechnya in the last two decades you can probably understand why Chechens have issues settling down and why their faith is often at the extreme end.
  7. What Viking? I am merely suggesting that I think that the attack was made by two Islamist guys who became radicalised on-line. Verbal has suggested that it is more like a Columbine style attack by College students and that to call them terrorists is part of a behind the scenes plan by the Republican Right. I think he is wrong.
  8. Verbal do you still believe that this is a Columbine style attack or an Islamist motivated terrorist style attack? Or are you being a little paranonoid in thinking it is some sort of theory put forward to further the agenda of the American Right?
  9. I would suspect that that the brothers were 'Islamist' terrorists motivated by a hatred of America shared across many Muslim people's across the world. Today's Al Qaeda terrorist is not necessarily part of some organised structure but is merely united by the Internet. The modern terrorist can be radicalised on-line and then educate themselves as to how to cause an atrocity without reporting in to some higher figure and I would believe that this is what these brothers have been up to. Perry Mason Pap may struggle to defend these guys but I am happy to listen to all the evidence. I think that you are wide of the mark when you say that the brothers were motivated by a university/college campus type motive. These style rampage's are in my opinion driven by a sense of resentment at being left out from the 'in crowd' and the 'college football' circles. Labelled as 'drop outs' a bitterness manifests itself and ultimately ends in a massacre. Unfortunately the gun laws in the States make them very vulnerable to these tragic scenarios. Its why gun laws need an overhaul. You criticise Pap for being Paranoiad Verbal but your Paranoia is very visible in your association with the 'Republican' Right and the cranks views you attach links to. Gun laws are rejected by a sizeable part of the American population because they don't like the Government telling them what to do. Whatever we may think of American gun laws many normal Americans object to gun laws for reasons we probably cannot relate to.
  10. How can you compare the measures taken to capture a fugitive to martial law being used by one party states?
  11. I think it is marvellous that Verbal is back not because he bashed you but because he enhances the quality of debate on the lounge. If you are Rick Astley then he is Bono. I think he is guilty of being a little paranoid thinking that conspiracy theories are somehow the tool of the right to stir up hatred. When you have millions and millions of people then you will inevitably have different viewpoints from those that look at events from a different angle and those that wish to attract attention. Conspiracy theories are generally quite interesting and thought provoking - taking the official line is rather North Korean. You are wrong because you are unable to differentiate between Martial law used to suppress the people and Martial Law used to protect the people. Measures taken by the Government would more than likely have been supported by everyone in Boston. I have been a bit hard. I generally enjoy your take on life even if I normally disagree with it.
  12. Marvellous to have Verbal back.
  13. It goes against the grain for people to earn out of charity. Traditionally people who had made good retired to put something back. Today it is now just a nice little earner for someone. I never give to any of the high profile charities just to local ones. I notice that David Miliband has gone to work for a charity - $280,000 a year.
  14. If the coal industry was still functioning today it would be full of Polish miners because the miners would not work for the same terms and conditions. Don't get me wrong I recognise the tragedy of the pit villages but in part they were let down by their leaders. So confrontational instead of practical. Wilsoin had full unemployement, so did the Soveiet Union but ultimately you have to create wealth.
  15. The coal industry was an asset until the Unions made it uncompetitive. Normal people would have sat around a table and discussed how we would be best placed to go forward. Sadly not the NUM who thought they could win as they had done in the seventies.
  16. Viable I am sure, so was Leyland until the Unions made it impossible to produce good quality, competitively produced cars on time.
  17. She actually liberated the rest of the country from being held to ransom by the Unions. More people benefited than lost and thats why she won three elections.
  18. Demonstrations subdued because protesters would have had to get out of bed by 9.00am
  19. That's an interesting one because the left cannot stand him and the right have no allegiance to him. Who will be demanding it?
  20. I would suggest that it is her enemies that are far more obsessed with her. She sorted out the unions who held back the rest of the country. They made our manufacturing base uncompetitive and ultimately unviable. Who was going to invest in British manufacturing in the late 70's when the Unions ran the show? For that reason you can put much of the blame for the demise of our manufacturing on the Unions. She is having a high profile funeral because the British people voted her in three times.
  21. It seems not http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1321407/Sacked-teacher-Katharine-Birbalsingh-Im-glad-I-spoke-failing-schools.html
  22. Congratulations. Harder work to begin with then they take care of each other.
  23. Wise words on greed from the £60,000 a week footballer. Thanks for that Joey.
  24. It takes a real loser to have to wait until their enemy dies of old age before they can celebrate.
  25. 10 year rule should be standard! End the career politician! Politicians should be motivated by a sense of duty.
