Agreed. What we have is a squad full of losers. That's not a personalilty-based observation, it's history. So many of these players have been part of a depressing team at SFC for so long, I don't think they'll ever recover here. A move away for the likes of McCarthy, Bednarek, Stephens, Smallbone...even KWP, it'd do them as much good as it does us. We genuinely need a clearout. Last season papered over the cracks - this is a mentally weak team. There aren't many I'd retain, given the choice. I realise this will not be the case, and the club will see most of the existing squad as strong options in the Champ, and sure enough many of them could go on to another Champ team and walk into it, but here, with us...I don't see it. Bednarek is a prime example. Two relegations, two 9-0 defeats (I think?), god knows how many own goals and goals conceded while he's played; Just knock it on the head. Let him move, for his sake as much as ours. He joined for £5m as a reserve and somehow has ended up being first choice, not because he's got better but because the squad has got worse. Even if we managed to scrape by next season and limp back into the PL, it'd just be rinse & repeat of this season. We need a hard reset, the club's been rotten for years now. It's a shame because it was on a perfect trajectory up until Koeman got poached.

Genuinely wouldn't be worse, but I wouldn't want him soiling our memories of him.

They're 4th, aren't they? What are they expecting?! Deluded twats.

Ross Stewart: [walks into Staplewood] Juric (to his assistant): "Who's this?"

Wondering if his team selections are down to the attitudes of certain players, rather than playing Aribo as a centre-back for a laugh. The ones that are playing for him were cast aside by RM (e.g. TP, big Les, Sully), and the ones RM loved aren't getting much of a look in (Downes, Fraser, Stephens etc, though I know the latter has also been injured). Just shows what a shitstorm the whole place is tbh. Players should give 100%, regardless of who's the boss. They play for the club and the badge, not the man in charge of the teamsheet.

Fingers crossed

Sulemana? He wasn't exactly pulling up trees there.

What are your thoughts on it?

I don't think it really matters tbf

Hard to disagree with any of that.

If ever there was a good advertisment as to why daytime drinking is not a good idea, this is it.

Not sure, sound's like he's dribbling over his CP season ticket whoever it is.

This co-comm is a fucking weapon.

Forgot I wrote this, just saw a notification in an email, but having read it back I felt bad. Was having a bad day! Whoever inherits this has a hell of a task on their hands, and I know most Saints fans are behind the man - we all should be, myself included. In light of the info regarding the kind of deal he's on, SR have played a sensible hand. I really hope it works out for him and the club. He certainly doesn't seem like a 'hipster' appointment. It probably comes across a bit weird to write this, but I just felt like I owed an apology to some people running a football club who don't know I exist 😄

Soundgarden were definitely not metal. #juricout

Fair point, I hadn't seen the 6 month contract bit. Looking for the positives, at least he's very different to RM.

It's not pivotal, but experience is key in most aspects of life. RM knew the league, but knowing the league isn't everything, it's just one element. He fell short of many of the others. Like I say, I hope I'm wrong, but this screams Ankersen trying to be clever again to me.

This fucking board, I swear! Man has only one club he's acheived better than a 40% win ratio at, and that was a Serie C club. He lasted no time at Roma - in fact, this is the Wiki entry: "Jurić failed to turn the team's fortunes and was regularly criticized for his management style and poor results; he was eventually dismissed on 10 November 2024, after a 2–3 home loss to Bologna that left Roma 20th in the Europa League table and only four points ahead of the relegation zone in Serie A." He was at Roma for less than TWO months. His record at previous clubs is better, admittedly, but still doesn't scream "Leave this to me guys, I've got this!" Maybe I'm being pessimistic, but it doesn't inspire confidence (probably because I've got no confidence in the board to get the appointment right). The thing we need is experience, and knowledge of the league. This guy has never managed outside Italy, let alone the UK. They're too 'hip' to go for someone like Moyes, clearly. If it comes off then I hope he proves me completely wrong.

That was encouraging. 1st half was a mess, but that's understandable given the circumstances. 2nd half was the first bit of football I've really enjoyed this season. Genuinely thought there was a chance we could score, and the players were all trying. Thought Matty F was brilliant, and good shows from Archer and also Suga when he came on. Decision not to give foul on Matty at the end suggests ref might be a Koppite to me, but otherwise I'll take it. As lovely as a cup run would have been, we've got more pressing issues to be dealing with. Would have been nice, but it's not season-defining to be out now. There's a faint pulse, that's what the second half showed me. This team should easily have had more points on the board if they were allowed to play.

Thought he was alright until that!

God, we're really missing Jack Stephens...
