Adam Blackmore @bigadamsport 5m So I asked #saintsfc Mauricio Pochettino a few questions about contract talks for him & certain players - interview up @solentsport ASAP
-
Lallana should be commanding a higher fee than anyone else at this club, even Shaw. Plays in a position that tends to command higher fees, contributes more to the team and at the beginning of his prime. £20 million would be an insult

"I want to keep progressing with the club" - Adam Lallana

If Ashton has managed to get a hold of the two big stories doing the rounds tonight (funnily enough, timed perfectly to overshadow Les Reed's statement) I'm fairly confident this is Cortese and Co's masterwork. Would not surprise me if NC is trying to unsettle players/fans in an attempt to turn them against KL and encourage her to sell up.

Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC · 53m MP: "It flatters me that #saintsfc are being compared to @Everton because they have always been in the top six in the league." #saintsfc MP: "The comparison is good because it shows we're doing things in the right way here." #saintsfc Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC · 1h MP: "@Everton are playing great football under Roberto Martínez. Pochettino press conference to start soon
Bewildered replied to Lallana's Left Peg's topic in The Saints
Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC 43s Reed: "We talk about the future every day. We’re both comfortable with the situation." #saintsfc Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC 1m Reed: "We would like to focus on the remaining fixtures of the season. We will pick up the contract talks over the summer." #saintsfc Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC 1m Les Reed: "Both Mauricio [Pochettino] and myself are very happy with the way we’re approaching things at the moment." #saintsfc Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC 1m Reed: "As we stand, there have been no enquiries or offers for any of our players. That is the truth." #saintsfc Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC 44s Reed: "Reports that some of our players are negotiating transfers are misinformed." #saintsfc Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC 1m Reed: "No club has been given permission to talk to any of our players." #saintsfc Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC 42s Reed: "We want to improve the squad going forward and retain our current players." #saintsfc -
Selling Lallana and Shaw at the first opportunity would set the tone for bad season, even if all the money is put back in to the team (which would be hard to believe) - Replacements will be on a hiding to nothing as they will be quickly and constantly compared to those we sell, likely unfavourably. - Likely a different manager, MP would be out of his mind to stay here under a board who will sell sell off anyone worthwhile. - Lack of football knowledge at board level could mean some dodgy at best managerial appointments - Those good players who we don't sell this time will probably be demoralised and looking for a way out themselves - Disgruntled fans who are more likely to turn on the team during bad performances and generally create an edgy atmosphere at St. Mary's which could affect the team, especially the younger players Not to mention we are an average side without Jay Rodriguez, take Lallana and Shaw out and we are **** poor as it is.
-
You forgot MP: "It is as I said before, we are calm about the situation, we will sit down at the end of the season" #saintsfc MP: "I am not the one you should be asking about that, I don't know." #saintsfc
-
United would probably try and use the opportunity to offer us their trash, like Buttner for example.
-
It is inevitable that Shaw will leave this Summer IMO, but it does make it harder to trust anything the Chairman et al says if we have been negotiating a deal to sell our most valuable asset behind closed doors at the same time he has been doing interviews saying we don't need or want to sell.
-
Indykaila, I can't believe he still peddles his nonsense. http://indyliar.wordpress.com/

Oh no 11th!
-
I was looking forward to Moyes ****ing a supposed £150m away on transfers in the summer.

I was reading Adam Blackmore's twitter the other day and it seemed like he was suggesting a certain ex-board member was using his friends and allies to plant stories in the press in an effort to destabilize the board http://tmi.me/1e95sQ Of course Blackmore may be creeping into conspiracy theorist territory, but let us not forget the desperate attempt that was made by some to convince us that Cortese only left because KL wanted a quick sale of the club.
-
Corriere Dello Sport ran a front saying that former Ac Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri has agreed a deal with Spurs to take over as manager in June. If true, that is the the club Poch is most strongly linked with out of the way.
-
Seemed like the standard vague, non committal answer Poch gives everyone when asked about the future (I don't know I have not discussed this topic with the board, we are solely concentrated on finishing the season as strongly as possible etc etc.)
-
Well, given that there is a possibility he will go, I would hope the club is drawing up a list of potential replacements that they can approach should MP decide to leave.
-
Really poor performance. Cardiff came to sit deep and steal one and they did just that. Chambers, Shaw, Lallana, Lambert and Fonte were well below par today, the crossing from the full backs was just terrible, Lallana and Lambert just didn't do much and Fonte looked like he didn't have a clue what to do about Zaha. For positives Ramirez played well as did Cork, although with Ramirez appearing to injure himself again, you have to wonder if he was fully fit to begin with. Gazzaniga had a few unorthodox moments, but in the end he was not at fault for the goal and his late save made sure the scoreline didn't become more embarrassing.
-
I'm about 75% convinced he will sign a new deal here, but I would hope that the board is thinking about possible successors if worst comes to worst and MP decides not to renew his contract and quits. If Guan's info is true, the club is in a good position to attract a more than reasonable replacement (though I would rather MP stays).

http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/fabio-nunes/leistungsdaten/spieler_138350.html Catching the eye by only making 2 (substitute) appearances for Latina since moving there in January...
-
All a part of their master plan to finish higher than 7th next season, buy all the players from the team in 8th.

West Auckland got a late goal and won 2-1.
