Not sure where the idea that players can't improve comes from? Yes, Bazunu was poor two season ago, but he's very young for a goalkeeper (a position where players don't peak until into their 30s) and I'm not sure he can be reasonably blamed for anything other than the second Stoke goal so far this season. I'm not his biggest fan, I'm a bit miffed with Ramsdale for wanting to go and play backup to Pope for a season rather than be the best keeper in the Championship, but I'd rather have Bazunu in goal than Alex "Near Post" McCarthy. Maybe let's try supporting our players rather than constantly go on about how dreadful they are for performances two years ago?

It will be interesting to see the team we put and possibly give us an indication for the type of manager Still will be. It's pretty clear to everyone that 3ATB with two holding midfielders didn't work against Wrexham or Northampton, but in his defence, we probably had one training session between those games, and a boatload of CBs for him to have a look at. Clearly we'd prepared that system for Wrexham with little time to change things. The main headache I can foresee is that he's kept Stephens as captain, and he's probably our third-best CB - if we go to a back four, who misses out?

Highlights here:

McCarthy had at least three options, plus hoofing it, in the end he picked none of them and didn't even pretend to try to save the subsequent shot. He's had a whole season and two pre-seasons until RM, if he hasn't got the hang of it by now, he never will.

Sign a decent keeper and I think we've got a good chance of staying up. Go with McCarthy and we'll beat Sheffield United's GA from last season in near-post goals alone!

I stand corrected, although I'm not sure that's an improvement on being managerless.

We don't need to have a huge step up in quality - we just need to be the fourth worst team. That's the goal for next season. Managerless Leicester and Ipswich are obviously in the mix to go down, Wolves, Forest, Everton, Brentford didn't exactly light up the league last season either. A number of teams will have points deductions too. We don't need to light up the league, and I think our cup game against Liverpool with a weakened side shows that we've got the tools to give it a decent go.

Penalty bottle-job aside, we did very well with our pressing to create the chance, and Aribo did well to find Brooks who should have been rewarded with a penalty.

Think we should see Stewart on sooner rather than later. AA needs to be on the right wing, he's much more effective there.

Because AArmstrong has been really poor when played centrally and done very well while on the wing, he's a good runner but his hold up play is poor. We miss him when he's not out on the right, Brooks hasn't done as well as we'd hoped there. Better to play the most Che-like option we have in Mara and hope Stewart has 30 minutes in his legs, and that Che is back for the second leg.
