  1. I thought Bertie's whole thing was that he was settled in Surrey, part of the reason he came to us was so he can commute down the M3 and stay where he was when he played for Chelsea? Why would he up sticks to Leicester in the twilight of his career? Brighton should be in for him, though obviously a sideways move he would be a hell of an upgrade on Dan Burn at LB for them.
  2. Cedric marking at the back post on an injury time corner costs Arsenal an away goal in the Europa League...
  3. Kyle Walker-Peters is Southampton’s only new fitness concern before Monday's game. The right-back has a minor leg injury after Sunday's win over Burnley, while Oriol Romeu, Will Smallbone and Michael Obafemi are long-term injury absentees. “We had two hard sessions today," Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has just said. "Kyle had a little problem with his leg, but the rest are quite fit."
  4. Sounds like Rice could well be out for the Euros, step up JWP..?
  5. To be fair, they are the only club in all of Europe to have injuries this season. And did you know they don't have any fans at their home games? That makes them much easier to play against, since all other clubs are still allowed fans (presumably, I haven't checked).
  6. Particularly as we're struggling against their aerial threat, so we bring on Salisu who was absolutely dominated in the air by DCL.
  7. Really don't understand that sub from Ralph to weaken us in midfield.
  8. Park the bus and invite Burnley on... the last thing we should be doing.
  9. GTFI. Pope unbelievable but can't save them all.
  10. Bednarek down with a head injury, ref plays on, Burnley nearly score?
  11. Game on!!! Absolutely shocking defending but a great finish.
  12. Better. More please.
  13. They have dominated us. This one is on Ralph.
  14. That's where the commentators chime in about "using his experience" if KWP goes down there. Probably was a foul but stayed on his feet, then gave away the pen.
  15. That's not even close to how that rule works. Stonewall.
  16. Lots of teams were after Eze but he didn't want to move out of London.
  17. City and Chelsea fans are pissed too, they both play in Europe in the week so would surely make sense to have their game on the Sunday to give them the extra day to recover, whereas us and Leicester aren't involved in Europe. Slightly bizarre from the FA.
  18. So this is the second thread today that SKD has derailed with pointless negative diatribe. Enjoy the ignore list. JWP had a very good game, Sterling was awful. We should have scored more but their keeper was excellent.
  19. Very nice it is too, some lovely beaches. Anyway, Leicester: I'll be watching it with my Leicester-mad father-in-law so if we could just give a good performance and not embarrass ourselves, I'll be happy. Theo on the bench for me, Ings/Adams/Redmond/Armstrong as the front 4, rest of the team picks itself.
  20. Good to see Prowsey rocking a Saints store bag on duty, he's already started tapping up Kane as Ingy's replacement
  21. It's the hope that kills them
  22. The difference is that City never seem to sign duds, or when they do, they sell/swap them and get most of their money back. Chelsea spent crazy amounts of money in the summer and I think most of their big signings could reasonably be called flops (Werner, Ziyech, Havertz, Chilwell; Kepa in the recent past) with Mount dragging them up the table almost single-handedly. United have spent big money on van de Beek, Telles, Dan James, Ighalo, and Dalot in recent years - not to mention Alexis Sanchez. Millions and millions wasted. City's biggest transfer failure in recent years was probably Danilo, and they swapped him for Cancelo who has been outstanding.
  23. I'm now far more invested in Everton - City than I would have been otherwise! Richarlison is a horrible cheating player, can't stand him, rolling around at every opportunity. Foden is way too good, I'm very happy he's English.
  24. Good performance, very happy for Redmond to get the goals and the assist, hopefully that will boost his confidence for the next few games. Adams scored a great goal too, VAR or no that should give him encouragement too. But how shite were Bournemouth?! Not paid too much attention to them this year but haven't they been in the argument for automatic promotion most of the season, never mind playoffs? I know they've had some injuries but surely they should be doing better than that against one of the worst defences in the PL.
