  1. DANNY fing INGS! Great free kick from JWP, best delivery from him all season and well-read. Need one more before half time please!
  2. Dominating so far but a lot of possession-for-possession's-sake. Pressing high and working hard, Bednarek especially is very high up. Goals in this for both sides.
  3. Would rather have Yoshida any day of the week.

    Danny Ings

Absolutely love the way he charges around at full speed, his desire to get to balls first is excellent and was again last night. Like others, I wasn't impressed with the signing originally but he's come good so far this season. Hope he can stay fit and keep banging them in.
  5. Hope you enjoyed it Mack!
  6. I think he would be a solid CB as the junior member of a partnership - alongside a Fonte or VvD (or even Yoshida) he would do well. Playing alongside Stephens I can imagine doesn't fill you with confidence.
  7. JWP, Hoj stay on the pitch while Redmond goes off? Bizarre.
  8. Would love to see a pass map for JWP. Everything backwards, even the commentators calling him out on it.
  9. 1-1, Altrincham penalty
  10. No pleasing some people on here apparently! Looks like a good appointment on the face of it, has overseen the recent good times for England and I expect the FA will be sad to see him go. (As an aside - seems like a fair few people have handed in their notice since dear old Les Reed joined the FA - coincidence?) "The move marks a return to the South Coast club for Crocker, who was their Academy Manager during a golden seven years in which they produced the likes of Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott, Callum Chambers, Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw. Prior to this he was Academy Manager at Cardiff City - the club he himself had represented as a youngster - and during this time they also enjoyed great success, turning out Aaron Ramsey, Chris Gunter, Adam Matthews and Joe Ledley." 11. Horrific defending. Tierney looks dangerous every time he has the ball. Add this one to the games-where-we-dropped-points pile.
  12. Bertrand absolute genius!
  13. Personally I would have Yoshida, clearly our best central defender, over Stephens or Bednarek, and if we are going with four at the back then Romeu over Hojbjerg or JWP as they've both been awful all season. Then obviously Djenepo instead of Obafemi, if no other reason than to save us the inevitable substitution when Obafemi gets injured. I understand Ralph's thinking to a degree - we're not scoring enough goals and Arsenal are terrible defensively - so Stephens and JWP play for set piece threat, JWP, Hojbjerg and Cedric play because he's obsessed with having players that can cover other positions, Armstrong plays because we needed to change something in the midfield. Obafemi is the only slightly strange one but must be there for pace against their slow defence.
  14. Had a brief look on Twitter and their subreddit during the game, around 75% of the Twitter comments were people complaining about TCWTB. General consensus among the Pompey fans is that they were awful and lucky to get past a Harrogate Town team who outplayed them for most of the game. Still, buys Jackett another game or two and brings them within a game of the third round drawer, so maybe it won't all be four nothing
  15. Gutted to lose like that after brilliant defending all game, but a massive step up from last week and something for us to work with.

  17. Wow, not only a goal but a good one! Well done Armstrong. We can go on and lose with some dignity now.
  18. This is going to be a waste of time and won't solve anything. Tories will lose votes to Brexit, Labour will lose votes to Lib Dems, SNP and Brexit, and who knows what will happen in NI. I'll vote for whoever is most likely to kick that Tory pr*ck Jack Lopresti out of his seat. I suspect lots of people will.
  19. I know there's not much point comparing passing stats with City... but I'm going to anyway. We've made 40 passes (66% success rate). They've made 260 (94% success rate).
  20. Aguero and Jesus starting for City. They want 10.

  22. Prediction: Saints 1 - Leicester 2 - VAR 2
  23. Already eight points off the playoffs, 13 points off the automatic spots. Ipswich top, 14 points ahead of the Blue Few - and they've played the same number of games as PCFC so can't even use the games in hand excuse! Big game against Lincoln next week - clash of the League Two Champions. Lose and they could be in the bottom three
  24. I don't think VAR has overturned a single qualitative decision in the entire league this season - only offsides (black and white) and attacking handballs (black and white (in theory - Spurs proving that wrong today)). It's a shame, I was a big fan of the idea of VAR and thought it worked well in the world cup. When they didn't change refereeing decisions in the first couple of weeks it was clear it was only going to be an offside corrector.
  25. That was stressful. Ref atrocious, their pen was a joke, sounds like a bit of a 'mare all round for VAR today. Only used for offsides in this league.
