I judge strikers almost solely on their goal scoring record. His is mediocre at best and he doesn't appear to offer any real pace or amazing technical ability. I've no problem with signing him for 4/5mill but to use up a decent chunk of money when things are apparently tighter at the club now, would be worrying

I mean a marquee signing, the club needs it. If we announced we'd signed Lukaku the same day as we sold Shaw and Lallana I'd be over the moon, if it's pelle it just confirms the clubs lack of ambition now.

I don't think it's that big an ask to want at least one decent signing considering what's happening at the club

Meh, we've replaced our manager with a better one and I'm pretty sure well be upgrading at Lb this summer too. I just hope the club have lined up some major signings already because they're in for a pr nightmare if they sit on that cash for too long

Based on being a top scorer in La Liga and Seria A. He played 13 games for us which is nothing and had the same goalscoring record as Rodriguez in his first season here.

Yet he's good enough for Roma, Juventus and Inter Milan? Come on now, he's an immense player just a complete head case.

I know the players might not be keen on him but there's no reason why he shouldn't wipe the slate clean since it happened up MP's watch. I'd definitely be happy to have him back, he's miles better then anyone we're being linked with.

I haven't watched England for years so not a lot to compare to progress wise, but we were appalling last night. Rooney simply shouldn't be in the first 11, and the whole attack seems to just rely on mindless runs with no end product, the level of actual skill on display is horrific. Even though Sterling was one of the livelier players he's a nothing player, just another Theo/Young/Townsend.

tbf Sterling is a better player then Lallana, I don't think you'd get many people outside of Saints fans saying otherwise
