We wouldn't be any better than last season if it weren't for Lovren and Wanyama

Puncheon to Palace - Perm Signing (Confirmed)
Pastor Patrón replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
I'd quite like them to keep Gaston, I think he'd be ideal for our system but he needs to improve his mental game, I don't think it's lack of effort but he can be so slow on the ball and isn't up to the pace of the premiership atm. He can see some good passes but most of the time seems to have the ball nicked off him whilst he's casually dribbling trying deciding what to do with it. The only problem is he hasn't shown any improvement in this area whatsoever, which you would've hoped would come after a year playing here. -

Yeah because we're now in the Prem, he didn't give a toss about us when we were in League 1. He's a handy squad player for a bottom half premiership side but comes across as borderline autistic. -
Poch to leave at end of the season?

Awesome, I wanted Di Matteo last time anyway. -
How can anyone not want this guy in their team, lad is a f#cking unit. [video=youtube;SkLJQu-fHw8]

No doubt, I wouldn't particularly care about losing Shaw, I'd only be worried about the effect it may have on the other youngsters from breaking up the group.
-
A straight swap of Shaw for Lukaku would tempt me

It's filled more with people moaning about people tbh.

I feel like the parental thing to do would be to not tell you until I'm convinced you've adopted a more polite and genteel tone.

I've never even noticed you posting on here which is quite some achievement for someone with over 6 thousand posts, do you have a new avatar or something?

Indeed, I was roundly mocked for suggesting Rhodes would be a good signing in the summer as signing players from the lower leagues is beneath us now. Then when we do sign expensive flops you're not allowed to criticise them as they cost lots of money so are clearly really good and we've just been blinded by our days struggling in the lower leagues and aren't used to seeing such quality footballers.
-
No, it's not my job to, I'm not a football scout and since none of the proposed signings could be validated either way it'd be utterly pointless. What we paid for him is entirely relevant as it shows you don't have to blow the bank to get a good player.
-
But he cost £1m so that doesn't really make sense? He's a great player but lets not pretend he's some once in a generation miracle.
-
He's 32 next month, it'd be a great deal for everyone as long as the right replacement is bought.
-
I'd still sign Rhodes, it's good to have different options within the squad and someone big and awkward who knows where the goal is would be ideal in some games. I guess we could get Muriel for £15mill which doesn't seem ridiculous since we've got nearly £40mill not doing a whole lot in Lambert, Osvaldo and Ramirez. I'd rather we signed Kyriakos Papadopoulos over anyone else though.
-
I'd say he's more suited suited to our system. Rhodes is good but strikes me as being very similar to Peter Crouch. Muriel seems to play in a similar way to Henry and proper Ronaldo, which is exactly what we need.
-
Wtf are you talking about?
-
Luis Muriel would be ideal upfront
-
Osvaldo's worse then Ramirez. At least Ramirez has age on his side and isn't renown for being a headcase.

Jordan Rhodes would be better

Top teams are built around a solid defence, so I'd prioritise a keeper then a centre back.

But Billy Sharp is a better goalscorer then both?
