  1. Rather enjoyed that. Maybe we didn't create many chances, but neither did they. Santana and Cork great. Can play together obviously. Don't care if they were own goals. Scoreboard doesn't care either.
  2. I too hope to be at that Perth event, but I am feeling a little pessimistic about the result. Felt Everton were outplayed at times against MUFC, but they carved them up on the break. Our back four will have a tough time containing them I fear.

    Big vic!

Thought he was very good. Chased and hassled and not afraid to muscle opponents. Saw him miss one pass from memory, but he wasn't alone there either.
  4. Actually Newcastle finish with Arsenal, Cardiff, and Liverpool. On their form I'd pick three losses there.
  5. Take a point given our threadbare squad and the next three games. Davis puts the ball a foot higher we go 1-0 up. Shaw puts his cross a foot further forward and Lallana buries it. Ref opens his f***ing eyes and we win. Small margins. Toons lost, which is nice. They have Arsenal followed by I think Fulham, and finishing with Liverpool, so no guarantee they'll get any closer. Stoke and Palace inching closer too, but shouldn't pick up the points they'd need. I hope.
  6. Not if he actually wants to play CL next season, although I generally agree with the rest of your thoughts.
  7. I come to Glasgow's threads for reasons I simply can't fathom, but I stay for images like this.
  8. I did. For a millisecond. But I was already thinking of a trip to Melbourne around then to see some footy. Melbourne Victory is at least a real club to be fair.
  9. Nah its easy to blame him if you're a complete squeezer, and there's plenty of them on this forum. Ok so he gives away a free kick maybe. And then three other blokes don't do their jobs and ball goes in. Yeah totally Gaston's fault that. Spare me.
  10. Cue standard Lambert is tired squeezers. Not to mention the anti-Gastons. Neither of those two cost us the game. This fu*@&ng forum is full of mouth breathers.
  11. I'm not reading this whole thread cause it's too late in the night. But anyone complaining about "no plan B" can get f#$%ed. As for our depth today no Schneiderlin and no Wanyama. I was happy with the point up till a good strike took it away from us. You make mistakes you lose games. Simple cause and effect. They made two. We made three.
  12. I was wondering about the send-off stats the other day. Not bad to get this far into the season even without one. Came closish on Saturday though with JWP. If Elmander had chosen to go down. Quite a lot of yellows I think, but who care about fair play tables.
  13. The second penalty against United looked pretty average. The third was just Sturridge being a diving pr*ck.
  14. Well yes he did give the ball away cheaply, but beyond that no one did their job very well to keep them out. Lovren and Fonte both get drawn to Elmander. No one closes the other bloke who puts the shot in. Boruc makes a decent save but pushes the ball back out to Snodgrass, who no one has bothered to track. Ball goes in net. Fonte is 100% at fault for their first. Under no pressure and has lots of space to move up, but turns and passes blind instead. Leaves JWP with a choice of getting a red card or leaving it up to the keeper. Can't fault his decision either way in my opinion.
  15. David Moyes. That is all. Norwich have indeed done well on a smaller budget, but they'll almost certainly be back in the Championship come August. That's more to do with the manager than the money people.
  16. Call my cynical, but I say he should have levelled the bloke and taken the red. Free kick outside the box and we could have defended easily for five or six minutes. Would never have given up two goals so poorly. Coulda, shoulda, woulda.
  17. Dominated and gave up two sh*try goals. Good moments for Sam and SRL. Lovren can ice his scrotum with a smile. F*ck it... 3 points banked and we move on. Newcastle lost too
  18. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-03-12/pardew-gets-seven-game-ban-for-headbutt/5314244?section=sport Likely to improve our chances of finishing 8th you think? Not that 8th is hugely different to 9th, but I like my team to finish as strongly and as highly as possible. Got to hurt Newcastle's run in.
  19. Was 50/50, but I wouldn't have been surprised or p#ss*d to see Lovren sent. Ref's discretion I guess. 1.30am - always feels better going to bed after a win.
  20. Ugly, but got the job done. Just like some of the women I've known. Defended reasonably well. They had no clear cut chances, but we didn't create too many either. SRL unlucky not to score. Don't think he was as bad as some already suggesting. Bank the 3 points and move on. Norwich next week. Hopefully it will be like shooting canaries in very small cages.
  21. I like Ramos's numbers, although I have to admit I haven't seen much of him playing. I'm bit of a Hertha fan, but hard to watch too many of their games in my neck of the woods. 14 goals in 20 odd games is not too shabby, even in the Bundesliga. Not too many Colombian's have played in England.
  22. Reminds me of this. Norbert Meier managing Duisberg in 2005. Sacked two days after this incident. What a c*nt.
  23. I thought NC's vision was CL qualification, which is what all those summer signings were supposed to have bought into. Doubt if they expected to happen in one season mind you. Not suggesting you personally bought into that idea, although clearly a lot of people on this forum did. So no, I am NOT the only one talking about Champions League. Although when I talk about it I'm just sharing what a stupid concept it was. Especially the idea we'd get there in one season. The results from those 18 games have been good enough to keep us in the top half, thanks in part to the results from the 10 games immediately preceeding them (22 points from 11 games). And then we were hit with injuries, which our squad is not strong enough to deal with, and a mad bloody Italian pr*ck. We are at best a top half/midtable team. Expecting more at this point is folly. There'll be changes in the summer, but I fervently hope MP is not among them.
  24. Holding us back from what? 6th? CL? League Titles? Surely at this point the only thing holding us back from those is money, and the aggressive use of it. We're about where we might have hoped to be at the start of the season. Anyone who honestly believed we'd make top four is a moron.
  25. A simple and correct summation, as opposed to people trying to read into everything and predicting catastrophe. We are at best a midtable team and will stay that way until we become more clinical in front of goal. That was the only difference that mattered. They created a few chances and took them. We didn't, again.
