  1. Giroud is a criminally underrated player IMHO. His link up play is utterly brilliant.
  2. I would assume issues are around the contract, and any penalty clauses for being relegated...that's the issue I'd have if I were Carrillo.
  3. If they have run out of patience why bring in Carrillo, who must surely be a Pellegrino buy?
  4. I really want us to sign Slimani - I think he has massive potential to be prolific in this league.
  5. The problem is we need to buy players that will improve us - I'm not sure this Monaco bloke sounds like he would, and I wouldn't trust anyone that Pellegrino brought in. The real negligence here is on not replacing the Manager. That is what needs to be rectified and will be the reason we go down.
  6. The reason he won't have joined us is due to league position and Manager, I would assume.
  7. Genuinely, why do people think Walcott is any better to Redmond? He's been poor for years. If he hadn't played here, you wouldn't want him. I equate him to Lazar Markovic, or last season's Jesus Navas, in as much as you wouldn't really want him here - squad filler from a bigger club. The fact we've missed out on him is rubbish from the club, but I'm breathing a sigh of relief. I don't really think we need players massively to get out of this - maybe a striker. We definitely do need a new Manager though.
  8. Ha, lighten up guys, it was a joke!! Jeez, some of you need to get out more.
  9. Was it your girlfriend?
  10. I quite posting on Sotonians midway through last year - I enjoy most of the posters there and have good debates, but there were some posters that I just couldn't bear to be around. The fact that I would prefer to be around the likes of Batman/Shurlock/CB Fry actually shows how much these posters **** me off. However, there are some brilliant posters there that I miss chatting with, and there were some excellent debates. The issue is that some members are so entrenched, and have so much invested in their opinions that they will argue that black is white - even when they are clearly wrong. Oh, and then there is the racist bigots as well, but we all know who they are on that site.
  11. The fans for forcing out Puel. Blood on their hands.
  12. Stoke fans be like...
  13. We used to win pretty much every game 3-1. It was great.
  14. Got a tenner on Watford at 50/1 at half time...
  15. Would prefer Slimani myself. A lot of untapped potential there (IMHO).
  16. True, McCown is actually a very underrated QB - especially later in life. Did a good job at the Browns, did an excellent job with the Jets. With the amount of injuries in the NFL, I am surprised that back-up QB isn't taken more seriously. Eagles have the right idea in keeping hold of Foles who (apart from the year at the godawful Rams) is a decent replacement level player.
  17. The advantage that other teams have at the moment at St Mary's is that they are much better teams than we are.
  18. Missing Rogers and having to play Brett Hundley is crippling TBF.
  19. Nah, what he's trying to do is downplay the size and ambition of the club so that he doesn't lose his job, as the club is effectively 'where it should be'.
  20. Obviously concussions are a major issue in the NFL, and I know Rugby Union is now taking it far more seriously. Here is an interesting interview with Larry Johnson, an NFL RB from the 00's. One of the main illnesses from playing in the NFL is CTE, caused by repeated head trauma's, but can only be tested for after death. Out of 111 tests, 110 deceased NFL players had the disease. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/american-football/42364622 After Aaron Hernandez took his life earlier in the year (he was in prison for killing Odin Lloyd, his friend) his brain was also tested and he had the disease - he was 27 at the time and had been out of the league for 4 years. His wife has sued both the Patriots and the NFL for causing his death as he had very advanced symptoms, very early in life. I would be very surprised if this wasn't something that was suffered by a number of football players - certainly from bygone era's.
  21. Wages and fee.
  22. Shame they wouldn't let me keep that name...but them's the rules.
  23. Sam is the mouthpiece for Saints so there is always a lot of positive messages in it. But, looking at what has been said: - We made much more money by waiting until January. - Hoedt seems to have been a replacement for Van Dijk (not so sure about this with Yoshida's form, but we'll see what happens with a change of keeper I guess) and not for Fonte. - We will bring in multiple players. - One is likely to be Walcott. - No real mention of who will spend the money - there is no implicit or explicit suggestion that Pellegrino will be that man.
