Not entirely garbage, we have some senior members back now. I said it a few weeks ago that Ralph needs to manage the minutes of everyone to ensure they all get a chance to impress before the semifinal. Djenepo/Adams should have started I’m fully expecting HT subs from Ralph, but this season Ralph has almost always left his subs till 80+ minutes unless forced
-
Yep he saved one at Stoke away in 2017 I remember that one
-
Penalty to WBA.

The commentator and others talking about our players either playing themselves ‘in or out’ of the FA Cup Semi, but let’s be honest 9 of the 11 playing today is pretty much cemented. Forster - is cup keeper even with a howler he will start Back 4- definitely won’t change, Salisu isn’t coming in for Bednarek CM- JWP and Diallo will start we have no one else From the 4 attacking players, Ings and Armstrong are nailed. Only cases can potentially be made for Walcott/Redmond who could be replaced by either Adams or Djenepo.

Don’t worry, I’m sure LCFC fans were saying similar when they went down 3-0 yesterday. This is the PL, it’s about how you manage different spells in the game. I have faith we will improve from the shitshow we have conjured up so far. Not good viewing atm I acknowledge!

Have to say we really did get away with WBA goal when they showed it again. I mean I’m not gonna complain because of the recent calls we have had against us, but I think fans really should be able to hear the VAR refs so we can hear what they are thinking.
-
Have to say in these early stages the defence is not giving me much confidence
-
That should have been a goal in my opinion!!! I’d rather have had that sort of luck in the semi next Sunday!

WBA put ball in net, but flag is up.

Yep, I’d love to know what some of their fans would think if given the choice of FA Cup vs Top 4 I’d like to hope they’d all choose the cup but there’ll be some in their camp who may see a top 4 finish as elevating their status a bit more and give them more financial backing to complete for a cup in the next few seasons.

I’m going to use very basic numbers figure but assume the following: 50k wages x 52 weeks x 2 yrs = £5.2m Signing on fee / similar = £1m That means Walcott for the next 2 years will cost us £6.2m in both wages/signing fee. Name me anyone else of Walcott’s ability we can get for that sort of total cost. Plus the fact that he loves the club, started his career here and Ralph sees his professionalism each day I think it is a no brainer. I’ll be honest tho, ideally I’d love someone else better to start (as we all would) but I think he is a good squad filler to have. The club obviously saw the same with Shane Long but sadly he has fallen off a cliff- Longy was 33 at time of signing his deal (Walcott 32 if he signs this summer), Long made 26 PL appearances in 2019/20 (Walcott on just 15 PL though), and Long scored 2 PL goals in 2019/20, whilst Walcott currently on 2 PL this season. Obviously the club use more statistics than the simplicity of mine above [MLG note], but our decision to offer Walcott a deal is partly because we think he will be a PL level option for us for 2 years but sadly Shane Long never quite did as soon as he signed the new deal.

Let’s see if Leeds defend better with 10 men than we do 😉 I thought the follow through was unlucky there as he clearly got the ball first but the second angle on the monitor did him no favours so he had to go.
-
I’m not sure maybe the point MLG trying to make is with the additional resources, if utilised correctly could make WHU/Leicester become mainstays for the top half of the table (of which we too are competing for), and then in turn it makes it harder for us. For example, if competing for a transfer, player X may prefer WHU/Leicester because they have a season in Europe over us. Let’s be honest, we wasted our potential after the high of 2016 - but as illustrated above I think there is no guarantee WHU/Leicester will maintain this sort of form consistently even with ‘additional resources’
-
Fair play to WHU, get your transfers right plus with some shrewd signings you can have an amazing season. Plus value of their players will only skyrocket if they continue like this, I'll give credit to Lingard who's playing decent - some of us wrote him off last November: https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/topic/58314-january-2021-transfer-window/page/4/

Final audition for Wembley right. I think Ralph will definitely start Redmond, Armstrong and Ings on semi-final day. So then the last spot up for grabs is between Adams/Walcott/Djenepo/Tella. It feels nice to finally have options off the bench - I'd start Djenepo and Adams though over Redmond/Walcott for this one to give them some minutes, with Ings and Armstrong. Otherwise, the back 4, goalkeeper and 2 number 6's pick themselves.

3-2 win though!!! GET IN
-
Adams fuck me how have u missed that!
-
Surprisingly, I’ve not heard anything yet! I’m sure it was referenced in the build-up or something 🤯
-
-
Ings/Redmond both overrunning it there.
-
We need more training on how to counter attack. Other teams score from our corners very easy but we struggle - another moment there where we couldn’t capitalise
-
So did we manage this comeback because Ralph does have a Plan B?
