... another thing I have just learned ... is that this is a tech related thread and I've gone off on a tangent rather! Apologies to all concerned.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. You say that as though it's a fact whereas it is actually just a misguided opinion No we haven't! We lost the manager and a few players at the start of the window and since then we have brought in a new manager who, in my opinion, is an upgrade on the previous one and we have at least replaced the players that have left. Some people on here (no names mentioned) automatically assume that those players aren't as good as those that have left (I tend to disagree) so I would describe the window, more realisically as being one where there was some initial bad news and since then all good news as the new players came on board. Yes, it is a wonder actually as those same people seem expert at ignoring the good news and just focussing on the changes that happened a good number of weeks ago now and refuse to stop talking about how bad everything is. Now sure where I said I couldn't handle it. Just said the total negativity of people on here ****es me off. Like stating that Taider is another bad news story! No it's not! A player that came on loan, has never played for us and has left ... so what? I seem to recall that some people (no names mentioned) suggested that the signing appeared to be a 'downgrade on last year and not a very inspiring signing'. Yet when he leaves, it's a 'bad news story'. Exactly the type of no win whining I was talking about.. Whine when he signs and whine when he leaves. I have learnt one thing today though and that's there's no point in trying to argue against it as some people have the negativity so ingrained into their very persona that there is no way they are taking the blinkers off.

Maybe it's to prioritise both. Ever thought that was possible? I'd rather have a go at the cups and do well in the league than just abandon the cups as we did last year even if it means finishing 9th instead of 8th.
-
It's not the suggestion that the problem it's the constant banging on with the same old theme. It's not fair, we're ****, the board are crap, all our signings are rubbish, we've done the worst business in the whole world, we're doomed, we're going to get relegated, etc etc etc.
-
Yes., there is problem. The forum is full of whingers and bedwetters with nothing better to do than complain about every ****ing thing they can think of. Apart from that, it's fine.

What a bunch of whinging ****s on here tonight. FFS... All ****ing doom and gloom. If you want to be depressed go and watch Eastenders. Not a transfer rumour amongst the lot of you, just childish pathetic arguments. We are where we are. Get over it. Trying to argue that Crystal Palace haven't had a bad transfer window because they haven't lost any big name players.... They never had any to start with FFS. Just pointless bickering.
-
Blimey! I thought I'd come to the 'Transfer Rumours Only' thread ... turns out I'm in the 'Artur Boruc Instagram' thread instead! My mistake.

Can't see why he would have played last night if we were planning of getting rid by the end of the week. Just doesn't make sense.

Ok, that's great. Thanks.

Thanks for the info but how did you find that? Just wondering so I can track Saints games down myself. Cheers

Just had my 'Potentially Sneaky User' email from PLP. ?

Me too Carfest or Reading?

Just had an email from PLP but not what I expected when I read it... It was a preview of the weekends games on PLP! This is what they had to say about Saints v WBA : Southampton v West Bromwich Albion ***KICK OFF 02:00 AUGUST 24 NZT Most pundits expected much depleted Southampton to cop a severe beating at the hands of Liverpool (the team that had pillaged their playing stock the most during the summer) but it took a late goal to finally subdue them. That performance should give the club a lift as they go into their first game at home. Having said that they are still an untried combination with most still trying to remember their team-mates names so fluency could be an issue. West Brom started the season with their traditional draw where they once again failed to hold on to a lead. This issue dogged them throughout last season and could be terminal this year if they don't sort it out. In Saido Berahino they have an up and coming star and if they can get him heavily involved could cause the Saints some problems. Any game involving The Baggies has a high likelihood of ending in a draw but there was enough of a defiant spirit shown by Southampton last week that makes me feel they can give their fans something to lift the gloom left by the multiple summer defections. Key Player: Ronald Koeman. The Dutch coach will have to engender a spirit of unity and purpose if he is to have a successful season. Managed it last week away from home as huge underdogs, can he do it at home where they will be firm favourites? Davis: 2-1

I just bought a month from the Taiwan site. Only been on to watch one or two matches so far so maybe they haven't caught up with me yet. Can't make the game this weekend so I'll have to watch it on PLP on Monday. I guess I might get the email after that.

The late BBC news said it was something other than matters previously made public but didn't go into details for obvious reasons but seems like this is gathering pace. What always strikes me when stories like this come out is how ****ing stupid the protagonists must be. Never mind about whether this is what you believe or not, to put such things in writing, presumably from his work email account... in a high profile job like that, you've got no ****ing chance. I wouldn't risk anything untoward in an email as you just don't know where it'll end up and I think it's safe to say that I'm unlikely to attract the attention of the national media. If the article is true, then he does come across as a really odious bloke.
-
Oops. Haven't had one of these yet but I suspect it'll be coming soon. Glad I just bought a month to start with!

Brilliant. Just shows that Lambert is a hypocritical ****.

There are no problems pre season. It's only a problem come the start of the season and I saw very few problems in the performance today. People seem to automatically think that change is a problem. We have a different team to the one I started supporting 35 years ago and we have a different team to the one I was supporting last year. No problem.

This. Yoshida seems to get a lot of grief on this forum when he really didn't do a lot wrong today. No way at fault for either goal yet people seem to want to slaughter him just for being on the pitch. He's a Saint FFS so support him.

Well, there's certainly something he wanted to say that in the end he didn't but not sure why what he did say would cause offence. Seems like he's still passionate about Saints and cares about our future. I'm sure that after today's game he'll be less concerned.!

Wrong. Just plain wrong. On another day we'd have scored three, a combination of poor finishing and bad luck did for us today. We created plenty of chances which, on another day, we would have taken. You seem to think that we should somehow be better than the team that finished second last year, have spent £100m since then and were playing at home. With that in mind, we had no chance, but in the end we did. We played exceptionally well. If we play like that every week we'll easily finish in the top ten.
