To be fair they have 8 or 9 players that are wanted and definitely good enough for the big payers. Its remarkable that they have kept players happy so long. Id personally have Daniel Levy put in charge of brexit negotiations, he knows how to get top deals done and has helped build something very special at spurs on a reflective budget comparatively.

Gash seems a bit unfair - surprising we were no better or worse without VVD points wise. After his injury we played 15 league games - W5 D4 L7 giving us 1.2 points per game. Average that over a season at you'd have 46 points which we had last season. We did concede a lot however - in the 17 games we played without VVD we kept 6 clean sheets but conceded 30 goals in the other 11 (2.7 goals a game) and that was despite setting up ultra defensively in nearly every game we played. The extra protection Mario (hopefully) offers should help.
