I'm probably patient than most and would never sack a manager after 3 games, however after watching us again yesterday and then seeing VVDs interview I strongly sensed something wasn't right. I stuck £30 on Puel to be the first premiership manager sacked this season at 14/1. He was 8th favourite in the list last night.... Just looked again and some bookies now have him as 5th favourite and his odds have dropped to 10/1. Not a massive movement but combined with the speculation about Tadic

Absolutely no chance we will improve on last seasons league finish, but would finishing 14th and reaching a cup final be seen as year on year improvement? I'm sure Reed will say so

The club must also take ALOT of blame, they have played their side in the media and failed to convince Fonte to sign a new contract The "Southampton way" also hasn't helped - he's our captain, he is 32 (nearly 33) one of our longest serving players and a regular starter. Put all this together and normally fans would have confidence to say "he's going nowhere" But we are Southampton and we are a selling club. It was completely feasible the Fonte could be sold by our club and rather than question the club people are simply blaming Fonte!!!

Newcastle were first to do this, buy cheap sell high and they also had a few seasons of success (5th in 2012) But they pushed there luck and similar to us thought damn this is easy..... Last season they had a negative net transfer spend of £90 million as they desperately tried to salvage things.... We all know how that finished!!
