  1. Really? Arsenal signed Paulista last January. Quick google shows Reid signed new deal last March http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/9744721/winston-reid-signs-new-long-term-contract-with-west-ham You have a case for Spurs but had Arsenal really wanted him, they would of got him.
  2. http://brandfinance.com/images/upload/bf_football_50_low_res.pdf Just realised this report is from June 2015 so not really a new story but found it an interesting read nonetheless Man United Top. Gets to us on page 9.
  3. I think we all know he would of gone to Spurs or Arsenal if he knew they wanted him as their first choice target. They clearly didn't as Arsenal got Paulista and Spurs got Toby and Wimmer.
  4. Turns out only 3 of the 7 we sold are good enough for a top 6 club, and Morgan isn't even getting high praise yet but think he'll be ok. I'd argue that we sold Puncheon to Palace for what 1m? I reckon he would of probably been more of a success at Liverpool than Lallana for 24m less, we really did pull United Arsenal and Liverpools pants down for most of the players we sold apart from Clyne (1 year od contract left) and Morgan (reasonable price for both partys).
  5. More likely to get relegated than finish above Leciester
  6. Carroll is reported to be on around 80k a week and they would of signed him on that before they knew they were getting even more premier league money that we get this or next season so basically 100k a week equivalent to now...Jokers. How they've got that Olympic Stadium is also a sham.
  7. Noticed Tadic did that Saturday....He'll be off soon then
  8. That was Sullivan. Maybe he really just didn't want to go there in the summer but said, well pay me this and I can't really say no
  9. Beattie has a few goodens I think
  10. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3403830/West-Ham-owner-David-Gold-claims-Charlie-Austin-s-Southampton-deal-not-bargain-wages-100-000-week.html I really don't believe he can be on that much. The cheek of him to come out and say that when he probably doesn't have any way of knowing for sure how much we have offered to pay him. I believe I saw glass ankle Carroll is on near that when they got him, he cost 15m and has been injured for over half their games!
  11. Still reckon he could do a job in the championship.
  12. Gotta just use the Rickie Lambert song surely. Miss singing that song, was so weird hearing us sing it on my stream saturday with him sat on the bench poor fella.
  13. Think Austin will only get in with injuries up front. I have no doubt that Roy Hodgson will be picking Rooney, Kane, Vardy, Sturridge and Welbeck if all fit so can't see anyone else getting a look in.
  14. The amount of headers he has been winning that he has no right to recently is ridiculous. If he could finish like he did v Germany 9 times out of 10 he would be a top class striker.
  15. If that Freekick didnt go in it could of been a whole different game to what it was so well done JWP, hopefully he kicks on and scores a few more during the rest of the season.
  16. copybat
  17. 3 games in 7 days and lots of rain......simples
  18. Close thread.
  19. Sky Sources: Charlie Austin on the verge of joining Southampton after passing medical in a 4m pound move. https://twitter.com/markmcadamtv
  20. I've had a sneaky feeling Charlie Austin would join us since QPR went down. The way he was saying he will only move to the right club for him and his family, which I assumed ruled out Newcastle and anywhere up North that would want him. So a move to a London club, Bournemouth or Southampton (closest PL clubs to where he's lived most of his life) seemed the most likely options. I also heard once that he was a saints fan when he was younger but that might be BS
  21. Probably because it's saints and the mainstream simply don't care enough to look into it.
  22. 12/13 he was in the Championship with Burnley as well. You can't argue with his goalscoring record though, so if he stays injury free for say 90% of the games we play he should be a very good signing.
  23. You make some reasonable points but I think the best one is Dr Barry Gale and the subsequent 6-1 & 4-0 Villa and Arsenal thrashings. The club should employ him permanently FFS!
  24. I'm excited, no doubt that he will be a great signing if he stays injury free.
  25. I don't think we can unless we play a foreign player at left back, Cocu the most likely one to play there after Bertrand and Targett?
