Don't know why you'd assume Sunderland are already 'done' and Newcastle aren't they're only 2 points behind them
-
Will change my answer if Swansea beat Sunderland tomorrow of course.
-
Villa, Swansea and Norwich. Reckon Big Sam will get them out of it somehow.
-
He went to my old school so I know a younger chap who was in his year and he said he's a saints fan I think. Maybe one that would stay for a while should he come good.
-
I'd take a fully fit Austin in a heartbeat. Problem is he rarely has been fit this season and we already have 1 striker constantly injured for the past 18 months, we aren't going to risk paying for another one.
-
Would people hypothetically pay more at the gates for more signings?

no. -
Near on impossible to replace those 3 players with our budget. They are amongst the top players in the world in their position.
-
Could add Cork to that list also as well. Second half of last season was far worse than the first half.
-
This season just shows that Toby, Clyne and Morgan are far bigger losses to a team than Lallana, Lovren, Shaw and Lambert. Seem to bottle games more and far less solid defensively
-
I'd agree we need a AM that can shoot and score goals as we have been lacking that for years. CM/DM though we have JWP, Davis, Wanyama, Romeu, Clasie and Reed who can play there 6 players for 2/3 positions. Also Slattery might be breaking into the first team next season.
-
Why so angry? Is it because I pointed out the obvious? Sorry won't happen again sir. People like you are why this site has gone so downhill and all the good posters leave. Well done you angry obnoxious troglodyte
-
Would of been an even tidier investment without the 100m waste of extra training ground fees and Gaston, Forren and Osvaldo fees and wages
-
Shocked at how many really wanted Shelvey on here tbh, also regarding Tonny Vilhena fight Oscar and Costa had a massive bust up/fight yesterday starting from a bad tackle as well
-
The last position we need to look at improving and a very inconsistent player for 10m. So glad you 2 aren't involved in our transfer dealings.
-
I would hazard a guess that everyone was and a load of teams the size of Leicester in this league went for him, he choose the team in the best position. Like most would in his situation.
-
I think this season can be saved but it will have to start right now and that means staying in the FA cup and winning our next two home games in the league otherwise we really will be in a relegation battle.
-
Well it's the captain, vice captain (and Northern Ireland captain), club captain and oldest home grown player. It's probabaly not a friendship group as such. It does make sense that this would be the group to have a serious discussion about our clubs form and issues they feel need to be dealt with.

SSN just reported one of the possible CBs Big Fat Sam wants is Steven Caulker.. QPR want to sell but need an agreement between all 3 parties. Let him go surely? Have Stephens as 4th choice CB he's got to get premier league experience somehow and from Caulkers display against Liverpool he couldn't of done much worse than him and he'll be on 1/5 of his wages if that.
-
Perfect signing if we can only have one this window would be a quality young AM that can shoot from distance, score goals and also play up top if needed.
-
Of course he isn't gonna walk FFS! Re the investment argument above. I think the main thing we are missing and have been for years is an advanced central midfielder that can shoot. Payet at West Ham comes to mind. If we had another option to Davis/Ward-Prowse (both awful at shooting and finishing) we would of finished higher than 7th last year and we'd of been easily in the top 10 this year.
-
Just saw that, if there was a chance he would choose us over them seems like our sort of signing. Would of been much more of a chance in the summer though, chance has probably gone if it's between us and them.
-
RE- Reed, IMO Wanyama's head is already somewhere else, if he's not going to sign a new deal might as well get rid in January if anyone is willing to pay a large fee and have Reed replace him in the squad. I don't think we'll see much of a difference
-
And unless Ramirez has a move back to Bologna or somewhere lined up in January I don't understand why he isn't on the bench. We saw against Liverpool that he can make a difference when we are behind with 15 mins to go. Plus Harry Reed? Played very well when called upon last season, can't even get in the squad this season. His development well and truly stunted.
-
If there was one game I wanted us to win before the season started it is this one. Win this and we'll only be 2 points behind them after the dodgy start and shocking recent form just shows how crazy and close the premier League is this season. Please for the love of saints win this one lads.

I saw that picture on a twitter Saints page then went here, he probably got it from there.
