JWP is nearly exactly 5 years younger than Morgan Schneiderlin, at his age Morgan Schneiderlin was embarking on his second year in the 3rd tier of english football. How would he of fared if he was in the top division at the same age? Impossible to know for sure but I would bet he would nowhere near the level he was the last 3 years for us. JWP being weak in the tackle as so many have put it reminds me of when Morgan first came here and Pardew told him he had to toughen up, hopefully he will improve this area in his game along with other weak areas. Some posters before saturday seemed to forget that 20 years old for a CM (the most demanding postion) in the premier is extremely young, you'd be hard pressed to find a younger player in a premier league team in his position this season. The attitude towards him by some of the posters on here is incredible you'd think he was skate Oh yeah he was! Also how come they keep saying that Targett is our first Hampshire born player to represent us for 30 years or whatever? Wasn't JWP born in Portsmouth?

The fact is over the last 3 years nearly everyone if they had to choose 11 from those 3 years would pick Clyne Morgan and Toby. You can debate all the other spots in that 11 but not those 3. I don't think even the stupidest football fan in all the land would not pick those 3. This is our problem how can we afford to replace these 3 with players as good as them and them to fit in straight away?

I've got a feeling 3-5-2 would suit us as an option with Soares and Bertrand as the fullbacks and VVD Fonte Yoshida CBs. They'd have to all play to play this system well, as our full backs tonight nowhere near good enough at attacking and Caulker isn't confident or good at bringing the ball forward. Very bemused why Soares didn't start? Unless he had an injury but then why have him on the bench? Same with Mane.

The first thing you mentioned was wrong so didnt bother reading the rest, Davis is very often and is better at, playing further forward, being the creative mid-fielder.

Totally agree with you apart from it's 5 clubs with the money, 3 from being huge clubs and 2 from billionaire owners then there's spurs who aren't spending because of a new stadium. The only hope is that every season 1 or 2 of those 5 clubs **** up and an Everton, Southampton, Stoke, Newcastle, Swansea or my tip this year Crystal Palace spend over half the year mixing it with the big 5 like we did last season and maybe just maybe (but almost definately not) going the whole way and sneaking into the top 4. It's the only thing that'll make it interesting for fans of a team outside the big 6 bar a good old relegation battle for the lesser teams.

It's more the lack of a Morgan Schneiderlin (Spider) covering the fullbacks with Wanyama, he really was always there to cover his anticipation and reading of the game is something we're really missing, I think with Clasie and Romeu/Wanyama or both we could do better at this that we are currently
