TRUE... this should be open-and-shut legal wise... either we have the legal right to buy him at the agreed price in which case we should and if we are prevented from doing so , we should take legal action .... or we don't and in which case we should have paid the asking price since we sold a great big pile of sh1te called Lovren for a lot more....

Toby was never going to be at this club longer that the single season in my opinion..... he was simply too good.....

Nathaniel Clyne Joins Liverpool - Official
JonnyOldBoy replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Clyne has been driven purely by the money.... If he used a purely footballing decision with regards his move away it would have been to a team that gives a LOT more freedom to their players. This is why Lallana has looked so useless at Liverpool and why LOVes-himself-REN was put under so much pressure that he clearly was not used to. Liverpool are a vague and aimless team. The year they came second was simply a result of Suarez, and without him they would have not even made the top 7 that year. Brenda has not got a clue about how to build a proper team and he thinks Clyne = a problem solved for him... Huge money is making a mockery of the game in England and there are way too many square pegs in round holes in teams. Manure having Falcao beggared belief, Super Mario at Liverpool being two obvious examples but there are many more. I have faith in RK and he can build teams... I think this coming season will be one step back though for us to take two steps forwards and I think a top 7 finish this coming season will be a big ask. Not impossible..... but unlikely. Not a problem for me tho... -

no animosity... just a shame he has signed for that total pile of sh1te of a team... he is a total idiot... but many footballers are... but having said that, for me he was looking a bit 2-D of late so in that sense I am happy Saints are moving forward with the money for him in the bank and cheers mate for your time at the club... -
Because Toby would have to agree with any deal in the end and its reported that he is only interested in three options..... AM are not going to be able to shift him to anywhere just because of a highest bidder. Its in everyone's interest in this particular situation for this to be sorted sooner rather than later....

Schneiderlin Joins Manchester United (Official)
JonnyOldBoy replied to Bewildered's topic in The Saints
You need to get to more games buddy... Lallana had inferior pass-completion stats than Davis in his last season for us... and then went on to have a season with Liverpool where his pass completion stats were horrific.... He was class in Championship and lower, and was showing signs of promise in the Prem.... but the stats don't lie.... he was never worth £25M in a million years.... And Lovren had so much protection from our midfield in his season that he looked a lot better than he was.... I stand by what I said. Morgan is one of our best players and that will be a loss but as for the rest... at the stupid money they went for , bravo...... -

love all this talk of us "continuing to sell our best players".... Lovren was iffy at Saints at the best of times, Davis had better stats in almost all departments that Lallana in his last season , and Lambert was looking like a horse well past the time for pasture.... Now we are selling Clyne who is increasing looking like a one trick pony and is replaceable for sure and Morgan , who as everyone would no doubt agree was and is one of our best players but wants the next step up which is fair enough after the service he has given. I fully expect him to flourish in the next few seasons unlike headless chicken Lallana and Clyne who will just become an ordinary player in a less than ordinary side. For me the catastrophe would be loosing the likes of Fonte, Victor and JayRod.... maybe its just the way I see things.... lol.... -

Clyne was great for Saints... but he was becoming a one-trick pony with roasting a player on the outside and a bending back cross being his display-of-choice... I reckon the "biggest" clubs see this [ as does Woy ] and he is not ticking their boxes. Liverpool on the other hand have one of the poorest scouting systems in the Universe and they would not know or care about such matters. I know he is/was a highly rated played for us and I would rather see him stay that go , but if I am honest he is not the player many think he is and will become increasing sussed out in the Prem and certainly will not get the freedom he had at Saints when he is at Liverpool. The guy is still developing and if he had any sense he would have signed a two year extension back in January and then left in a years time or..... left this summer on a considerably better personal deal. He has been badly advised. From our point of view, so long as we have another player in that position who is comfortable higher up the pitch then we will be fine. Also if we replace players like Toby , Morgan , Clyne etc etc then we have to accept that we are still in a building process and a modest step back this coming season to take two steps forward the next is not a negative proposition. -
some interesting posts here from budding civil engineers... However in the real world the situation as it has been explained to me is thus : Only one stand can be extended at a reasonable cost... but that would only give an extra 3000-ish seats. And it would chew up valuable space around the stadium. The guy I spoke to about this BUILDS THESE THINGS FOR A LIVING so he knows what he is talking about. SMS could have been built for an extra £10M which would have allowed for future 360 expansion to 45,000ish but the decision was made not to do this. There is a more costly option to extend the one stand giving another 5000-ish seats but this it not viable when considered against the cost of building a new stadium for 45,000-50,000 people. Other stadia that can be affordably extended possess different design characteristics. SMS was shoe-horned into that site and this was one of the original features influencing the design(s). So in summary , SMS in my opinion ( and his ) is unlikely to ever be extended..... the fact remains to be seen whether or not the club ever do desire a higher capacity... and it will be interesting to see what is in store for that chunk of land once the planning info becomes public domain... interesting chat... so not sure why the aggressive kn0b feels the need to be abusive ? but hey ho..... ;-)
-
You need to read more and randomly spout less... just a suggestion...
-
Completely incorrect.... The stadium design means that expansion to 45K costs about 90% of the cost of a whole new stadium.... I will believe the people that actually build the stadium , rather than a comparison from some other random stadium.
-
Can anyone shed any light/credibility to this : I was speaking to a town and country planner 18 months ago who told me "off the record" that Saints had purchased a chunk of land near the M27 Junction 7... The land was purchased with the first stage of planning permission required to build a new stadium ... I have since lost contact with this person , but he was a genuine T&C planner , I know that for sure , and see no reason why he would make that up... Using good old Google earth I can see only one real viable chunk of land , and thats the land that has been used for exploratory drilling just next to link road from the junction to the transmitter roundabout.... anyone else heard anything similar ? I also spoke to someone who makes chunks of stadia for a living earlier this year and he confirmed the price to extend St Mary's to 45K would be roughly the same as building a new Stadium from scratch.... so who knows... maybe there is this secret plot in Hedge End !?

I have it on the jungle drums that Saints will have a third kit...... -
Brand value has to do with ability to attract investment and revenue. The reason we are higher than many Spanish clubs is simply because the Spanish Economy is in ruins and brands over there struggle to attract anything , let alone cash.... regards our sponsor.... I would never ever let my kids wear a shirt with Wonga on it for the very least ethical grounds and that says it all...
-
Would LOVE the Don to go to Liverpool.... would be so funny to see him **** everything up there....
-
Assuming Spiderman and Victor both jump ship and ply their trades elsewhere.... anyone know of any replacements that can do what they did and score some goals as well ? Its been a while since saints had a regular net-popper from midfield....
-
I disagree.... success in the Premier League and success in the Europa cup are completely different goals with completely different ingredients to succeed. I think we have just the right mix to be able to go quite far in the Europa with a mix of regulars and up-and-coming players... whereas in the Premier league, there is much less time on the ball and younger players need to be acclimatised to this heady football theatre carefully.
-
Some people miss why Saints will get a VERY different experience out of the Europa League... We have a deeper squad that any other club outside the top 5 if you include our younger up-and-coming talent and I fully expect RK to blood youngsters as often as possible in our Early games. Opposition mostly will be weak in terms of talent but strong in terms of strategy and I think RK is perfectly equipped to deal with that and improve our younger players. Clubs that have struggled with the Europa league have done so simply because they have no robust squad that could be spread to cope with the schedule.... We do....

Liverpool is NOT a massive step up... and here is why.... The TOP FOUR in our league have the clubs that are a "massive step up" , and any club likely to punch through into that top four... Do people seriously think BR and his shambles of a team can get anywhere near top 4 next season ? Chelsea and Arsenal for me next season are certainly top four teams.... Then probably Manure.... then one from 7 teams but it won't be Liverpool... -

Clyne should leave SMS for £25M+ this summer to a top 4 club if he leaves at all.... if he does not then A. He is an idiot and B Saints are idiots. If he joined Liverpool it would surely make him one of the thickest people on the face of the planet.... -
good luck to the fella and we should not stick a stupid price on him,,, just maybe stitch up a player-plus-cash deal if possible... To be honest Toby and Morgan at this stage of their career need champions league in my opinion and both can go with the blessing of most fans I would hope... I am expecting Yoshy to be one of our most improved players next season and have no worries with him as an automatic choice so long as we sign cover....
-
Ramirez is not good enough for the Premier League... I find it incredible that some people think he is...

Spiderman and Clyne are gone.....

Reading in-between the lines of what has been said by Sterling and his Agent... I think something has happened at Liverpool to make Sterling not want to stay there.... I really think its as simple as that. I do not think it has anything to do with money or loyalty. So for me its nothing like Lallana who basically was tapped up at the World Cup via Gerrard and was lured my money and "bigness" of Liverpool... For him it was greed and short-sightedness but for Sterling I think there is something more personal playing out here.....
