Matt Le Tissier has just tweeted "Heard J Fonte on @talkSPORT this am doing his best to receive a warm welcome at SMS on sat #alternativefacts "

Be a strange one, would've thought a move for him would've come back in the summer when maybe we weren't sure if he'd find his fitness again. Would be strange given that he has shown bits of his old self to now move him on at what is not a substantial amount of money. But who knows..

Think i'll wait to see if we get to a cup final before getting one next year, knowing that I can just buy one when I decide I want a better chance at tickets
-
I'd probably go with Patrick Van Aanholt vs. David Moyes if I was a betting man.
-
Sign our 4th left back but don't address our non-scoring strikers?
-
I'd say it was more Saints C vs. Arsenal B (maybe even A- as they had Mustafi, Bellerin, Walcott, Welbeck, Perez who all start either regularly or intermittently)

Saints Reserves v Arsenal Reserves - FA Cup Match Thread

Højbjerg is our answer to John Stones. A player that everyone goes 'but he definitely WILL be brilliant one day' to avoid saying he just really isn't that good. In fact, i'd say he's absolutely ****. -

Absolutely. For all the demand for a striker and CB, that's more of a lack of bodies, whereas our midfield has a serious lack of quality (Romeu aside). -

Am I the only person who has been getting really, really ****ed off with the positioning of referee's lately? They seem to always be in the way, often even cutting off avenue's or being right on the first touch of a player. -

I'm not saying they couldn't have, i'm saying the idea that you can say 'I won't rest them today i'll rest them for the next game' has the same results is just stupid -
Saints Reserves v Arsenal Reserves - FA Cup Match Thread

Some people seem to think it's as simple as play them today and rest them on Wednesday instead. Other people with brain cells realise that the chances of a player pushing his body to breaking point is much more likely to happen after playing two games in three days, especially when one was as demanding as Wednesday night was. -

We've rotated heavily, but let's not pretend we don't have a massive injury list that means half these players would've been forced to play anyway. -
Nothing to worry about in that Arsenal line up really, and ours is weakened obviously but we have a lot of injuries and all but Isgrove, Garcia and Lewis have played regularly this season for us so i'm happy with it.

Yeah I know he had strong Southampton connections but its still not often you see a team from another Premier League team sitting in the away end supporting someone else!
-
Amazing!! Often tell people that hollow, distant roar from the away end is one of the worst noises you can ever hear, but in that case its just beautiful.

Yeah sorry its because I copied my post from another thread but didn't do it properly. All fixed now.

hopefully fixed, my bad!

Here's a list of some of the best footage posted on Twitter, for those of you who don't use it. Enjoy: Saints' video of the fans singing 'que sera, sera' after the game': A fan who managed to record the goal as it went in! More 'que sera, sera' as the players throw their shirts in after the final whistle, filmed by a fan. Another fan who managed to film the goal going in Bizarre video of the day probably goes to this guy, spotting Sam Vokes of Burnley in the away end singing 'que sera, sera' Proper footage of the bundle and euphoria in slo-mo, courtesy of the club themselves And I know this has been posted already, but this clip of the goal with the titanic music accompanying it is sublime https://twitter.com/Ahoybjerg/status/824398129260793856

What a shame that a 90,000 seater stadium only allows each team 31k tickets. Nearly a third of the stadium will be going to non-supporters. I have 5 home games and 2 away games and a membership, shame that the 2 away games don't count especially as one was the Arsenal game in the quarter final. Think there's going to be a fair few empty seats at Arsenal and West Ham!

Oriol Romeu signs new four and a half year deal!!
saintwbu replied to Wimborne_saint's topic in The Saints
A tough tackling, blood and guts fan favourite who has a great temperament and doesn't make rash tackles and get himself sent off, whilst providing great composure and ability on the ball. He's perfect! -
Awesome in both legs, despite some missed chances (although that chip in the first leg was sublime, desperately unlucky that it hit Lovren). I've been critical of him playing on the left due to his tendency to cut back but not actually produce anything when he does it, and his lack of trust in his left foot. Last night he caused their right back and Matip all sorts of problems and played 3 good passes with his left foot, he was fantastic. Really, really pleased for him, games like these are always set up for players to make their name and I feel no matter what peoples' opinion of Redmond have been all season, they cannot deny his importance in us reaching this final.
