Careerwise, I believe Clasie would be better off in the Serie A but a move to Club Brugge isn't that bad. They belong to the favourites for the title each year, play in the Europa League, Brugge is a nice city and a three hour drive from his hometown Haarlem in the Netherlands and last but not least: Clasie still gets his fat paycheck every month. I guess the Saints still pay the biggest part of it as in Belgium (and the Netherlands) the salaries are not as ridiculous as in the PL. Moving to Club Brugge is far better than a move to Crystal Palace or Newcastle Utd, that would have been devastating for his career.

I see him play regularly in the Eredivisie and Ziyech is a great player when it comes to the passing game and he does have a decent shot in both legs. But I do fear he doesn't have the stamina to match the pace in the PL and he's not that keen on defensive duties so I doubt he will be the right player for the Saints. Also I don't believe that Ajax will sell him this week as there are big problems in Amsterdam at the moment and they don't need the money at all as they are already loaded. However, the Saints really need a creative midfielder...

I was hoping for Stefan de Vrij but Hoedt seems to be a good choice. Welcome!

Yup, too bad it didn't work out for Clasie in Southampton but it's not unexpected considering the pace and the physical aspects of the PL. Feyenoord already has enough midfielders, otherwise I would have loved to see him come back (when he was willing to cut his wages in half... ) Edit: his lack of appearances wasn't down to have bonuses to [ay Feyenoord. All the bonuses have been paid already (3 million euros), it does make you wonder what targets were planned for those bonuses...

Yeah, I know what you mean but one day...

You're still hoping Ziyech might make a move?

Yep, and making stupid mistakes in the Europa League and not that great when in possession of the ball. But Sanchez is really talented and given time he will be one of the best defenders in the PL. Too bad he did a "VVD" on Ajax and got away with it. -

It wasn't really a question Hypo... Words like racist and fascist are far too easily used these days but when some bigot says "we're aiming for someone more radical than Trump, someone who does not give away his daughter to a Jew..." then you know you are listening to a f*cking racist. It's an "academic" discussion wether this bigot has some nice ideas about other stuff which you may like and no, that doesn't automatically mean that you're a racist too. However, you should be so much disgusted that you're not even willing to listen to him. You can find the same racists within the alt-right movement, you better stay clear of them. It's the same with the Pegida movement in Germany, I can understand why citizens want to express their fear of the islamization of their country but when you're walking alongside neo-nazi's then you're going the wrong way... -

With the hundreds of thousands who sympathize with the alt-right movement I guess you can say there are a little bit more racists in the US than "some". Not that I agree with the antifa or BLM idiots but taking a stand against the morons in this video is the right thing to do. -

Ajax turned down a € 40m offer for Sanchez from Spurs as they already have loads of money, good for them. Hopefully they won't give in when even more silly money is offered. -
Big crowd...

Still, the EU and it's leaders have all their hopes on Trump not giving in to the warmongers in the Senate like McCain who want to increase the sanctions against Russia. This has nothing to do with farts but everything with Russian natural gas...

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES

I reckon it depends on which branch of islam is the most powerful. Verbal mentioned Wahhabism, an ideology "exported" by the Saudi's (amongst others) by funding mosques and radical imams all over the world. Take Indonesia for example, the biggest muslim country in the world (almost 90% of the 250m inhabitants are muslim). Besides the quarrels between muslims and christians on the Moluccan Islands there was never a real problem with islam. That changed more than a decade ago when Wahhabism came along so now homosexuals are beaten up in front of an audience and huge crowds are shouting that the sharia laws should rule the country. The same goes for Turkey, once a secular state but with Erdogan and his sunni accomplices this is changing rapidly and I guess it won't take too long before you'll hear Turkey is perverting islam. But Verbal is right, it's the people or groups who are responsible for the damage done and not some old and retarded book. -

Good explanation Verbal, the world would be a better place without Wahhabism. In my opinion we could do without Salafism too, as you didn't mention this ideology does this mean you believe followers of Salafism are no threat to European norms and values? -
Well, there's not much success to praise him for. I guess the average Trump fan is happy to see that the man is trying to change things in their favour but that there are too many idiots standing in his way. Personally I'm still happy that Clinton lost as we would have even bigger problems with the Russians and the Middle East with that b*tch in control. I reckon Trump won't make it till the next elections but I'm not sure if that's a good thing as Mike Pence might take over. I have the idea that he could be far more dangerous than a clown like Trump.

Maybe they're happy with the way things are going and don't feel the need to comment?
-
When Liverpool wants to pay 55m or more that's fine with me. No need to frustrate VVD, just buy Stefan de Vrij from Lazio and there's enough money left to get a creative midfielder or attacker.
-
Yep, Feyenoord sold Terence Kongolo to Monaco for 13m, too bad the Saints were apparantly not interested.
-
Incredible, despite all his limitations Cuco is getting filthy rich. He must be laughing his ass off...

Other (non English) teams that are similar to Saints 'way' ?
van Hanegem replied to eddie's topic in The Saints
Dutch clubs like Feyenoord and Ajax don't get much money from tv (around 8 million pounds each year) so they have to focus on their youth academy in order to get ahead. Playing in the PL means you do get stupendous amounds of money to buy players many European clubs can't afford. Good for Saints that they try not to go along with all the madness these days! On the other hand the youth academy does not deliver big talents for a long time now, or am I wrong? Maybe the Saints should follow Ajax in the way that they buy youngsters like Eriksen and Dolberg at a young age? Then again the competitions in the Netherlands, Danmark etc. are good breeding ponds. -
Though the EU might speak as 'one voice' for 27 countries, it doesn't mean every country has the same feeling about the Brexit talks. The Dutch have always relied on the Brits when the EU came up with some unholy plan. As the Dutch are losing their 'big brother', the Dutch PM Rutte is looking for other friends to prevent Brexit damaging Dutch interests. After all, Dutch export to the UK exceeds 50 billion euro's. Not that I believe that the Netherlands, Luxemburg and the Baltic States will convince the French and the Germans to go easy on May c.s. but hey, at least there are some countries with a 'different perspective' on Brexit.
