Ok, that’s freaky. Duckie and Delldays/Batman/Alex have finally morphed into one another. No surprise though! I can just imagine them back in the 70’s snuggling up with pints of Watneys watching episodes of Love Thy Neighbour. Anyway, didn’t get to see The Beatles as I was 12 when they quit touring in 1966. Not disappointed as the screaming was a bit off putting. My first gig though was T.Rex not long after they changed from being a hippy band into teenyboppers so didn’t exactly avoid crowds of screaming hysterical girls. When The Beatles broke up in 1970 there were so many other great bands emerging that I wasn’t particularly interested in following their solo careers. It wasn’t until 1990 that I finally got to see Paul McCartney on his first major solo tour after Wings at the Wembley Arena. He had a great band and the set list was awesome. Plenty of Beatles stuff and the best from the Wings era and his solo stuff at that point. It was probably the next best thing to seeing The Beatles although the harmonies were never going to be the same. Great gig. If you are into that stuff The Bootleg Beatles also do an amazing job of recreating that music. They put on a terrific show too which transports you back to the 60’s. Happy days! Mind you, nostalgia ain’t what it used to be 😎

I was told that….. the easiest way to spread and feed an agenda is to post unsubstantiated rumours on social media. Best advice, when someone starts off a post with “I was told that” just assume that it has come from someone who is just shit stirring. As for the manager, as has been said, if he is really that bad at many aspects of his job, how crap must the new owners be for not recognising that and shipping him out with the rest of the coaching team at the earliest opportunity?
-
Surely he is not going to adjust to playing in the EPL unless he plays in the EPL (with either us or another EPL team). Can’t see the point of him going to the Championship on loan. So he scores a few goals and gets his confidence back but you would assume he had plenty of confidence when signing from Blackburn. One of his problems seemed to be taking half a second longer in getting his shots away in the Prem, in other words, not shooting as instinctively as he did for Blackburn. Hopefully the new coaching team can sort this out and we will get the goal scorer we thought we had signed. Ralph has intimated that he is a long term project.

The guy might have turned 80 years old and his voice may be going, but what a show he put on at Glastonbury tonight. I was in tears when he sang Something and in floods when he duetted with Lennon. Throw in Dave Grohl and Bruce Springsteen and some of the greatest music ever written.. what a night. The guy is a legend.

A lady I work with has very dark skin and black hair. She has a foreign sounding name. She has a London (not cockney) accent and is British through and through in her DNA. She lives in a very middle class Kent town. She gets what would be described as racist abuse on a regular basis. I had darkish skin and dark hair and have a foreign sounding name. I was born in London and my family were born in London as far back as we can find. As a kid new teachers when going through the register for the first time each new school year would stop at my name, ask me to stand up and ask if I was foreign. Not great as a kid when you just want to blend in and not become a target for bullying. Fortunately I managed to avoid the worst of the bullying but it did make me a target and I was picked on in racist terms during my early years in secondary school. I am not pretending what I faced occasionally was anything like that of ethnic minorities and nor is Lineker, but most of us understand that there are people in this world who love to pick on people because they are different and you can’t be much more different in much of this country by having black or brown skin. I listened to a radio programme yesterday where the point was made why would you boo at people demonstrating against racism (footballers taking the knee) unless you had some sympathy for racism? If you share the views of non racists, why call out those demonstrating against racism? The same applies here. There are dozens of things to get agitated about on a daily basis, not least the latest news about our Prime Minister, his cabinet and how self serving and useless they are yet some people take the time and trouble to call out an individual for talking about racism and his experience of it. Apparently is is a reason to make fun of someone. One individual even goes as far, to deflect from this, by talking about the person’s “jug” ears. That’s ok then. 🙄
-
And “chicks” aren’t a human gender Duckie. Here’s one for you Batman. Today on LBC presenter James O’Brien referred to Priti Patel as a “brown lady.” I know how you love a bit of faux outrage about non-existent racist terms so I thought you would like to know.

Far right wing, Nigel Farage worshipping poster finds racism funny shocker!

Wrong choice for your new avatar Duckie. You should have used Jim Davidson.

Judging by the number of people who called a phone in about the effect of Brexit on their small businesses in this country it has royally shafted them. I do some part time work for a small business and the price of materials have gone through the roof and delivery times are all over the place. What used to take days now takes weeks.
-
Did you actually read what he said before you posted your (usual) asinine, knee jerk reaction? Any attempt to discuss racism seriously sadly attracts people like you like moths to a flame. Out of interest, do you think it is ok for people to be bullied or discriminated against just because they look different?

Yes I have. If you bothered to read anything properly anybody ever says that disagrees with the Delldays/Batman narrative you would have notice a response in my post at 17:58 yesterday. (Given that you don’t not respond to most of the points put to you, you have a bit of a cheek calling me out for not responding). -

Stuck record? I have answered that question even though your effort at point scoring was ruined by you trying to conflate two completely different set of circumstances. But let’s play it your way shall we? What are you thoughts on people who constantly go on social media and write posts deflecting from the main issues? Does the Tory Party pay you to do this? What are your thoughts on people in full time employment having to use food banks? What are your thoughts on Alexander Johnson’s lack of ethics? What are your thoughts on people who get kicked off of football forums and return prestending to be someone else? What are you thoughts on someone holding the position of Home Secretary having found to have bullied staff and not resigned? Anyone can play this game. It is not difficult is it? The thing is Delldays/Batman, you clearly have no problem lying (your claim not to be Delldays/Batman. Your claim to have met me despite not be able to say where and when) so it comes as no surprise that you support people with no ethics, zero moral compasses and a complete lack of humanity. Off you go now, back to trawling Twitter for more spurious half truths and nonsense to back up arguments that do not exist other than in the fantasy world of a superhero wannabe. -

I haven’t read it. If I had why would I be asking you for more information? As for housing any refugees. No. Have you? What has that to do with the Government policy to ship asylum seekers in the UK to Rwanda? Surely I would need to buy a property in Rwanda and house them there to fall in with Patel’s great plan (or should I say cunning plan as it has Baldrick written all over it). As I am sure you understand, this plan has nothing to do with making it easier to deal with asylum seekers here and everything to do with trying to deter them in the first place. Those successful won’t even get to live here but thousands of miles away in Africa. If they wanted to resettle in Rwanda, don’t you think they would go there rather than risk their lives on the English Channel? This is classic Johnson politics, deal with the issue by not actually dealing with it. In this case, it also involves not dealing with it by sending it somewhere else (on another continent, no less) and paying others deal with it for him. It makes no difference whatsoever if I house or don’t house any refugees. This government doesn’t want them here (unless they are Ukrainian of course which are the only acceptable refugees in the current Johnson populist catalogue of tick box politics) which fits right in with the xenophobic types (ring any bells Batman) who lap up the Take Back Control of our Borders rhetoric. When you get banned again perhaps you should come back next time as NigelFarage2016? Please don’t bother to come back with more deflection tactics. This is a UK issue (remember, we got our country back). These people have chosen, for whatever reason, to seek safe haven in this country - “this” being the operative word. Instead of kicking the issue into the long grass, in this case Africa, Johnson and Patel need to put their mighty intellects into to sorting out the mess that is the basic asylum seeking process in this country. They could start by treating these people as human beings and not just as unwanted statistics. -

It is hard finding information about it. Perhaps you could enlighten us on the numbers and the particular countries involved, the background and circumstances? As ever though you change the narrative and don’t deal with what is being said. What has this got to do with Johnson and the cabinet being crap, the Tories being self centred and not bothered about anyone other than themselves? I”ll humour you though. It doesn’t take much imagination to work out that if I disagree with the basic policy of shipping people who seek asylum in the UK off to Rwanda that, depending on the circumstances, I wouldn’t agree with people seeking asylum in other countries being packed off to Rwanda either. I look forward to you providing the information that the EU and UN are mirroring the policy recently brought in by Johnson and Patel in the UK. -

Many people vote to improve the society in which they live because they believe that it will benefit them and their loved ones overall as well. Of course there are those who don’t give a stuff about anybody else so long as they are ok. They are called Tories. Then you get those who take it one step further and actively, deliberately vote for policies that make other people’s lives worse. They are called Facists. Fortunately these people are very easy to spot. At the moment you can find them all over social media supporting Priti Patel and her Rwanda policy. They also use terms like “Pinko” to denigrate anyone with a moral compass. -

I know several people who support the far Left of Labour and they think that Starmer is being too tough on them. You can’t say he has given Corbyn an easy ride. No matter what he thinks of the Royal family, he can’t do anything about them himself. He has made his position clear about Brexit and has said several times that we need to make it work. People have called Tories far worse things than “scum” but I agree that, an an MP, she should moderate her language. He made his position very clear on tv the other day “Of course women can’t have penises.” He also made it clear that some individuals have issues with gender and they need to be addressed sensitively. The curry situation is nothing like the situation that Johnson is in and he has made it clear that he will resign if fined. Totally unlike Johnson who has been found guilty but clings on regardless. I used to work for him and I have never known him to be unpatriotic. Not sure where you got that from? He was a QC and defended people he believed to be innocent. Again, I don’t think that is something you need worry about given that the hard left of Labour would like to get rid of him for being too far the other way. He may lack charisma but he is a decent person and I think, after the shambles of Johnson’s era, he will be what we need to repair the damage done. Let’s face it. He could hardly be any worse. I think there is hope for you yet, but you will need to stay away from The Mail, Express, Telegraph and Sun if you want to keep a reasonable perspective. -

It was depressing watching Question Time last night. There are still people supporting Johnson despite knowing that he is a congenital liar and is useless at his job. Why? Because apparently although he is a rule breaker “he gets things done.” That is the whole point. He and his grossly inept cabinet “get things done” in a way that appeals to the headline readers of the Mail and Express but as Cooper says, it is all gimmickry. Their “solutions” lead to further problems and chaos and are not proper solutions at all. The great Rwanda plan appeals to those who worship the Farages of this world, but is it preventing people trafficking? No. The “oven ready” Brexit deal is unravelling right before Johnson’s eyes. Why? Because he did a deal that he had no intention of sticking too and his supporters love him for it. European Court of Human Rights? Pah! What do they know about anything? Despite the fact that Churchill signed up to it and it involves British judges, what has it got to do with us? We have people with zero ethics who know better than some jumped up pinkos in Strasbourg. As Trump, Johnson, Johnson’s cabinet and Farage have shown us, there are plenty of votes to be had mining the lowest common denominators. Immigrants, welfare state spongers, lefties, Trade Unions. They are all enemies of the state and are fair game. The Tories are playing these cards for all they are worth at the moment. Johnson is a maverick but his lying and law breaking is perfectly ok because he is fighting the good fight against lowlife shysters, lefties and Johnny Foreigner. What are we hearing now? Labour haven’t got any plans to do things better. Maybe because the clueless Tories pinch their policies (the latest being the shameless stealing and rebranding of the windfall tax). I have seen Starmer skewer the Greased Piglet at virtually every PMs Questions. I have seen plenty of empassioned speeches like Coopers from the Labour ranks but apparently they are either doing nothing to hold the government to account or they are holding the country back by not supporting this inept gang of crooks. Watch the Tories get annihilated in the by elections next week only to be followed by more drivel from Johnson about doubling down, blah blah blah, people trafficking, blah blah blah, levelling up, blah blah blah and his happy band of enablers will continue to make excuses for him and keep him in office fiddling away why the reputation of this country burns to the ground. -
What staggers me is that in 2022, after all we have experienced in the last 40 years, you still idolise the likes of Thatcher and Farage. This country has gone to the dogs and people like you are the reason. Another person like you (Batman) told me on another thread to get into the 21st century. You and he seem oblivious to the fact that you are no better than Rees-Mogg and are all stuck in the 18th and 19th centuries. Nationalism is regressive, Neolithic and toxic. If this country is ever going to move forwards it needs to ditch the self serving Tory doctrines, the Little Englander Farage doctrines and look outwards instead of inwards. You are quite happy to sit back and watch Johnson stick two fingers up to decency, integrity and basic human rights so long as you get your country back. It doesn’t seem to matter to you that the people you voted into power are dragging this country into the sewer.
-
Losers don’t have to accept anything. Farage himself has said that he would have continued to campaign to leave if your mob had lost the referendum vote so why on earth should those who want us to rejoin the EU just give up? There is nothing black or white about it. Some want to be out of it, some want to be in it. It is a choice which people are perfectly entitled to have. You bang on about “democracy” but how would you feel if there was a reef sun again this autumn and the vote was reversed? It is very possible that there are more people who want to rejoin the EU now they have seen what Brexit actually means. Wouldn’t it be Democratic to hear what the people have to say now we know more about what Brexit actually means to our everyday lives? Remains are just as entitled to campaign to rejoin the EU as people like you are Farage were entitled to campaign to leave. We took a Democratic decision to join the Common market in the last century. If that Democratic decision can be overridden, so can the last one.

The finishing wasn’t particularly good though and both Forster and McCarthy could probably have saved these too.

So let me get this right. I am not allowed to quote what Lenny Henry says because I am white? Ok! That’s right out of the classic Delldays /Batman playbook. I’ll let you get back to trawling the internet for things that aren’t racist. For the record he said “I’m always surprised by the lack of black and brown faces at festivals” if you have an issue with that perhaps take it up with Sir Lenny himself? He didn’t use the N word and why would he, so why bring that up? Be honest you are just trying to deflect from the fact you posted something which you said was about racism when it wasn’t about racism at all, but about “cultural differences.” Keep spinning that wheel Delldays.
-
Lenny Henry did. So have you managed to find the part in the article where it said that Glastonbury refuse to sell tickets to ethnic minorities (better for you?). Where is the quote from Lenny Henry which makes you think he is accusing the festival of being “racist?”
-
Did he mention anything about it being “racist?” I read the article earlier and not once did it cross my mind that he was referring to it being “racist.” He talks about it being a cultural thing and yes, he is right, you don’t see many black/brown faces in the crowd. Still, you put it through the Delldays/Batman filter and out it comes as another failed attempt to make a point that doesn’t exist. Does someone pay you to do this everyday? If so perhaps they should use someone else as you are not very good at it, despite your many years of practice.
