  1. I mention foreign because a particular poster usually throws that in when talking about Gao. There is a huge difference in having concerns and making assumptions that someone is “dodgy.” How many owners talk to their fans? Krueger made the point that Gao preferred for comms to come from the Board. What is the problem with that? People borrow money to buy businesses. What is the problem with that? We have a new sponsor who are going to give SFC more money than our previous sponsor. What is the problem with that? Up to this point I can’t really see what he has done as owner of SFC as being dodgy so I can’t start making assumptions based on what may or may not happen in the future. If you want to assume the worst, that is your right.
  2. The article in the Echo says that there are whispers behind the scenes that there is interest in him rather than we are actively trying to sell.
  3. No. Just pointing out that no matter what you think of Gao and no matter what you think of the vetting process, he got through it. It seems to me that we don’t like him, according to conjecture, because he is foreign, he is not super rich, he doesn’t talk to the fans, he might be a bit dodgy and he intends to carry on running the club the same way it has been run.
  4. Perhaps you need to ask the “dimwits” at the FA why they found him to be a fit and proper person to own a football club?
  5. Yep, why have reasonable when you can have a conspiracy theory instead?
  6. Whilst you just look like an ignorant person with an agenda. “Useless and indebted owner?” How much are ManU in debt? As for useless, how can you judge after such a short time in charge? It seems to me that he has spent some time checking things out and is now beginning to make his mark. There is more to running a football club than throwing money at it. Let’s see how things shape up. You seem to have a problem with people who try to be reasonable. Perhaps you should give it a try rather than to look for negatives all the time? If Gao wasn’t bothered about the club why replace Hughes with a quality manager?
  7. They should have got rid of her ages ago, the trouble is there is no decent candidate to replace her. The only one with an ounce of charisma is a complete buffoon. We are going to end up with an incompetent leader on either side of the Atlantic. Putin must think that all of his birthdays have come at once.
  8. So replace one uninspiring leader with another? How depressing. Hopefully the Tories have had it now, undone by Farage. What a way to go!
  9. Whether Gao takes us forward or not remains to be seen. We also have absolutely no idea where we would be right now if Marcus hadn’t passed away when he did. It is entirely possible that we would be in a similar position with him now getting the same flak that his daughter and Gao are getting. From what I can see very little has changed since he bought the club in terms of expenditure on the team. We were a self sustaining club under Marcus, under his daughter and now under Gao. As many have pointed out repeatedly, that has not been our problem. The problem has been recruitment. It looks like Gao is addressing the issues and if he is successful and we have a better season in 19/20, then perhaps he should get some credit?
  10. Really? They seem to be queuing up to make their confessions and some to be looking to be wearing it as a badge of honour. No surprise to see you supporting this dreadful rabble though. You are so stuck in the 70s that you think the country is in a mess because of liberal policies. The country is where it is because of the likes of Cameron and May, two of the most inept PMs in my lifetime. Both Tories Duckie. The dreadful bunch looking to replace May will only make things worse. Still, if Mcvey gets in you can say least forget the dreadful policies whist fulfilling your sexual fantasies eh Duckie? Your party is a mess and with any luck will be destroyed in the next election.
  11. Gao said that this club is his child. You don’t sell your child. Don’t expect him to sell any time soon. Owning a Premiership club gives him kudos back home. He ain’t going anywhere unless something drastic happens.
  12. Despite the fact that he wrote an article at the time slagging off middle class drug takers? Only a few weeks ago Dianne Abbot was slagged off for drinking alcohol on the London Underground. Now we have a bunch of people fighting to become Prime Minister who can’t wait to use their previous drug taking exploits as a campaigning tool. Seriously, wtf has this country come to?
  13. That’s where our recruitment has gone wrong! We haven’t been targeting players on their level of attractiveness! Dear god, I knew what sort of comments to expect from that 70’s throwback Duckhunter, but can’t we do better than that guys? Women’s football is improving and there is clearly a growing market for it. As many girls play soccer as boys in the US. If more girls start getting into football as a result of the World Cup it can only be a good thing. Time to grow up guys.
  14. But they aren’t trying to play football. They are playing football. You don’t have to watch it, you can spend your time brushing up on your homophobic jokes.
  15. I am taking a punt here so bear with me. Back in the 60’s my dad worked and played cricket for The Times. Every year at Whitsun (late May bank holiday) they would do a small cricket tour taking in Tichborne CC and Follands CC. I think they used to stay at the Albany Hotel which may well have closed in the 80s? The Times had a lovely sports ground at Ravensbourne near Bromley in Kent and I think Tichborne may have played some return games there too. I have a vague recollection of Follands being the manufacturers of the Gnat jet? I think there was one at their sports ground? Just wondering if any one here knows anything about those old cricket matches? I still have a picture of my dad being applauded off the field after getting 98 not out. That would have been mid 60s.
  16. The match was so poor that even the streaker wore clothing.
  17. Good grace to accept defeat? So you don’t recall Farage saying that if the result had gone the other way he would have carried on fighting it? This is too important to drop, which is why those who believe we should stay in the EU are not backing down.
  18. Are you getting your Union Jack knickers in a twist because you realise that Remain could well win another public vote? If you Brexiters are so sure of your position you should have nothing to fear, surely? Shame about Tommy by the way.
  19. Not much of a front man for action then are you Benjii if you cant work out how to get a message through to a high profile character like this. How about trying to approach him through the club? You would think that they would have some way of getting in touch with him. As for the questions, sorry but they are a bit rubbish. If you think that something dodgy is going on this is hardly the way to go about exposing him is it? You seem to have an issue about lack of communication with the fans. We have already heard from Krueger that he is a private man and that the Board speak for him. Doesnt make him dodgy really does it? The fans on here wanted Black, Reed, Krueger and Hughes gone and they have all gone but you are still not happy. If he was dodgy wouldn't he not give a stuff about replacing under performing staff? Lander are supposed to be launching this summer. If they stump up the money does it really matter if they are not operating just yet? It seems like a good way to launch a new brand to me but if there is something rotten there hopefully you will find it. Think about your questions and get in touch with the club about how you can reach him. You might want to think about contacting an accountant too to get some idea about how you can ask things that might help to flush out his alleged dodgy dealings.Let me know how you get on and good luck with your quest.
  20. Ok fine. Have you actually asked Gao any questions though? If so, what are they?
  21. Any answers yet?
  22. Pied Piper of Maidstone? What does that mean? You are a bit of a drama queen aren’t you. Gao passed the FA test for someone who is a fit and proper person to own a Premiership football club. Unless I have missed something there is no financial crisis, nor would there be if we had been relegated. You sit behind your keyboard demanding answers but don’t seem to be remotely prepared to do anything yourself other than to whinge on a football forum. If you are that bothered about it, why not do something more? You could start by actually thinking of some of the questions that you are demanding answers to. Oh, and my brother has just bought a Cockerpoo puppy called Benji. He wets his bed too!
  23. For no reason? So the reason we were given in that we needed to sort out the financial mess that Cortese left us in was “no reason?”
  24. There is not person on this forum who knows whether Gao or the new sponsorship will be good for the club or not, but there is a massive assumption based on nothing that they are bad. Let’s hope you miserable sods are all proved right and then you can have a mass “I told you so” love in. Enjoy!
  25. I agree that delivering Brexit within this Parliament was always going to be a tough ask. But wouldn’t have made more sense to form a cross party committee together from the start to try and work out what would get through Parliament and then spend the next three years trying to get the EU to agreed something that would work for us. Instead May has spent (wasted) three years putting together a deal which her own Party won’t support and keeps putting in front of Parliament despite the fact that it keeps getting defeated. Her mantra that this is the only deal is nonsense. There is always another option. The EU are quite rightly frustrated because they are trying to negotiate with someone who doesn’t know what the people she needs to get on side actually want. May’s belligerence and single minded approach from the start has led us to where we are now, in a shambles. Cameron let Farage bully us into a decision to leave when we had no plan how to leave. May’s incompetence has led us to a position where we will probably end up leaving with no deal, with all of the economic uncertainties and issues that will bring with it.
