  1. So wearing a headscarf gives an indication as to her motivations? Elementary my dear hypo. Women wearing headscarf = Muslim. Muslim = terrorist. Once again you have given yourself away. Perhaps wait until something is confirmed before jumping to a stereotypical conclusion?
  2. 2 more killed in London last night. 52 killed so far this year in the capital alone. Cue another diversity jibe by hypo.
  3. Sorry Badger, hadn't read your post when I responded to MLT.
  4. He got a lot of stick for allegedly playing "sideways football." So much so he was nicknamed "The Crab." He was an early exponent of possession football which upset a lot of people at the time who wanted to see the ball launched into the box at every opportunity. I remember a lot of debates at the time about whether he should be in the England team at the time, so yes, he was underrated by some.
  5. Humans killing other humans. who'd of thought it. Still, nice of you to attempt to make a racist issue out of it. A teenage girl was shot dead in Tottenham on Monday night. In Walthamstow a teenage boy suffered gunshot wounds with another also taken to hospital with stab wounds. This isnt just happening in London, it happening all over the country and has been for ages. It would appear that Batman has only just realised, too busy looking out for crimes attributed to Muslims I guess. Still, it is heartening to see that even he is beginning to realise that you are more likely to be killed by one of your own (and by that I mean a British citizen) than an Islamic terrorist. Okay, the floor is yours now hypo, time to come back with a pathetic jibe about the death of an innocent immigrant.
  6. This. Football clubs are for life, not just for Christmas. If you cant handle the bad times, you dont deserve the good times.
  7. If you use that argument then surely you have to include Lawrie McMenemy? Not only did he continue on from where Ted left off and take us to another level, but he is also the only manager to win us some major silverware. On top of that he manager to sign the former European Footballer of the Year to an unfashionable club. So then - Paine, Bates, McMenemy and a bun fight over the fourth spot but I would give it to MLT, undoubtedly the most gifted player the club has had in my lifetime.
  8. Whoops. My bad. Well done for out pedanting me.
  9. I dont think that all Germans thought that National Socialism was a good thing vH. Clearly though there are those who are drawn to extremes in any walk of life. It seems to me that peaceful, law abiding Muslims do have a problem with extremists within their religion. But now we are getting back into stuff we talked about months ago and I don't wont to get back into the Katie Hopkins/hypo territory again.
  10. Awesome list Duckster. I would probably only disagree with two. Peter Osgood for John Terry and Jimmy Greaves for Hoddle. As good as Hoddle was, Greaves was a goal machine and possibly the best finisher I have seen play. I totally agree with you in that it is so difficult to chose between Channon and Le Tiss. As you say, Le Tiss had more of those wow moments but Channon was more consistent. We were lucky to have both.
  11. Although to be pedantic, many of these players never played in the EPL. They played in the old Division 1.
  12. I dont see any problems with the peaceful and law abiding followers of Islam. I am sure they would argue that those who practice anti-social activities and base their actions on the Koran are misinterpreting the teachings - much the same with other religions. These religions are not going to go away. We either learn to co-exist or this crap will go on forever.
  13. I know that you think all foreigners are the same Batman, but surely you know the difference between Russians and Japanese? As a serviceman you would also be expected to know that the Germans surrendered to the Allies (which included the Russians) in May 1945, well before America dropped the bombs on Japan.
  14. CB Fry, alpine_saint, Shurlock & hypochondriac. Legends one and all!
  15. Given that that some people wanted Pellegrino out after 8 games, isnt it a bit previous to say Hughes no matter what? I know that this is Saintsweb, but judging after one game???
  16. No, you are right. Everyone should be sacked unless they are an unqualified success after one game.
  17. That is not what I heard initially. When first reported they said at the time they believed it to be racially motivated. That may have changed since. So you dont think that there are any racists on this thread?
  18. There has been a backlash against Muslims and immigrants in general both on here and throughout the country vG. That is the issue. You say I dont see any issues at all. I dont see any issue with Islam and peaceful law abiding Muslims. Why should I? Why should anybody? I do have issues with anyone who kills, maims, rapes etc. whatever their religion, colour, creed. You talk about Islam gaining territory in Europe as if they are invading? When people of different races, religions etc feel under threat they tend to become even more insular and less tolerant. There are clearly issues between church and state but we need to work with all religions and factions and find a way that works for all. Seeing them as the enemy and something that needs being resisted is only going to perpetuate the problems. You highlight the areas where there are problems, perhaps we should also talk about the areas where there is integration and where people find a way to live together peacefully and hold those up as the models that we should be aspiring to. Simplistic? Yes. But surely better than division, suspicion and intolerance.
  19. I wonder how he would have done with the one on one that Gabbi missed or the penalty?
  20. I dont disagreed that there a big problems within the Muslim communities in a number of areas van H. They clearly need to be addressed. What hacks me off is the grief that the millions of peaceful and decent people get on the back of negative stuff which has nothing to do with them. I really dont know what went on with Rochdale etc regarding cover ups, but there have clearly also been major cover ups in both the C of E and the Catholic church regarding sexual abuse, so it isnt limited to one faction. Still it goes on. A young girl called Mariam Mustafa has died after what is deemed to be a racist attack in Nottingham. Not that it will be of interest to those on this thread who seem to sympathise with Britain First (although I am sure that hypochondriac will be along shortly to make a cheap shot out of her death, just as he did to Razvan Sirbu). The only way forward is more tolerance and understanding on both sides.
  21. I don't think that possession in itself is the problem. You see plenty of teams passing around the back four and midfield waiting for openings and all the while you have the ball they cant score. It is what you do when you attack that counts and our finishing has been rubbish for ages. We are something like 7th in the league for most shots on target and if a better % of those shots had ended up in the net we wouldnt be where we are now. Apparently it is the poor quality of chances that we make that mean that we dont score enough. If Hughes can sort that out we should be ok.
  22. I once warned Always that you were like internet herpes and that once you contracted hypochondriac you had it for life. Sadly that seems to have been proven 100% true. You sound like a small boy who never really left the playground. Do you ever read your posts back to yourself? Surely you must be able to see how pathetic you come across? There is a reason why you fall out with more people each day. You also seem to be losing the plot. You did post that you would be ok with us losing against Wigan if it meant Pellegrino was sacked. What kind of supporter would pass up on an FA Cup semi-final for any reason? You say that your father-in-law likes you but didnt mention about your other in-laws, who also probably think that you are an immature ****. If you work, is your boss aware that you spend most of your days trying to wind people up on an internet forum? As for the other poster who you seem to be linked with and also seems to be bored all day so gets his jollies by trolling, I haven't lived in Maidstone for several years. I do think that the club was right to sack Pellegrino and I do think that they should have sacked him earlier. Is that clear enough for you? For those who seem to feel the need to personalise everything and find it a heinous crime to lose football matches, most football managers fail and it is possible to be a decent human being and to manage a club in the relegation zone. Duckhunter was spot on. Pellegrino has shown more class than many supporters. Hughes is lucky. If he manages to keep us up he will be a hero, if he doesnt he can bail out in a few months time and avoid the grief. Mind you, that will probably be aimed at Reed anyway. Oh, and when are you coming back to Sotonians hypo? We miss you.
  23. Utterly mental, some people would like to see us get knocked out of an FA Cup quarter final. Says a lot about one particular so called fan.
  24. Batman - No. I would probably have sacked him in January. I dont think it is unreasonable to give a new manager up to the New Year to get to grips with a new job. CB Fry - Pot. Kettle. Black. I will do a deal with you. I will start getting over myself the day you do, ok? Alpine - What is tedious and pathetic is your never ending negativity and constant need to find sticks to beat the club with. Just because he didn't do well with us doesn't make him a bad human being. Character wise, Pellegrino is the polar opposite to Redknapp. He has always come across as decent and dignified man. This thread is called "Is There Anything Good We Can Say About Pellegrino?" There are plenty of other threads where you can vent your spleen about his poor record as a manager for us. Oh, and you are the one who brought up Lowe, not me.
