Average talent? One of the best defenders I have seen kick a football and a decent track record as a manager including getting us to finish 7th and 6th despite losing so many good players? I don't agree with the way he left but he did an excellent job for us and to say the bloke is average is nonsense.

Having just finished 6th that seems to say it all. Would we have finished so high if we had played many of the young players we have now? No. They clearly are not up to the standard of the likes of Shaw. You play them if they are good enough. You don't play them just because they are from the youth system.
