Sadly the irony is completely lost on Alps.

Perhaps if we were in a relegation dog fight you might have a point but we are not at this point in time. We are 7 points above third from bottom and 7 points from being 7th. With one or two exceptions we have not been terrible this season and with better finishing we wouldn't be having this conversation (well some of you would). Everton has been hld up us a team we should aspire to being like. Guess what, we are 3 points away from them! You also seem to forget the total meltdown on here before a ball was kicked last season. There are a bunch of you who seem doom round every corner and you climb out of the woodwork when things are not going so well only to disappear again when they do. If there is any sneering then it is because there are some who do not seem to enjoy finding things to ***** about. And when you say the rest of the fanbase is down I think you will find that it is only the bedwetters who are down. The rest of us realise that being midtable is nothing to slit your wrists about and are looking forward to better results rather than spending time predicting the worse.

We have spent when we haven't had any choice due to players leaving. We are not a club that spends a lot of money in mid season and we are not a club that spends to speculate.
-
Well, if it happens I guess it will make a few on here happy. Personally I hope it doesn't but nothing surprises me in football. Ron will have known before he joined that this club doesn't flash the cash so I am hoping it is b*ll*cks.
-
Yet this team wiped the floor with the likes of Arsenal! We need to play our strongest team and I am afraid that doesn't include Yoshi.
-
In retrospect it might not have been the best option, but at the time, if Middlesbro come and ask for him why was it stupid? I am sure we assumed that they wanted him because they wanted to play him.
-
I am sure it is just cover. But then if anything happens to Fonte or VvD then that is a worry!
-
You would like to think he put on Ramirez because he thought he would make more of a difference. What he was expected to do from the 87th minute though is anyones guess.
-
At some point he will have to win a major competition if he is to live up to his "potential."
-
Yes he could have dealt with both situations differently. It doesn't excuse the behaviour of the players.
-
The pundits seem to think we are a very well run club, but what do they know! Thank Christ we are 13th. I don't think I could bear it if we were 14th.

And that is what it is all about. How we fair over a whole season and not in a batch of games. If our loses had been spread across the season instead of the last few games (which included talking the mighty Arsenal apart) would the bed wetters be out in such force? You say the only reason that we are not in the relegation zone is because of the points picked up early on. Isnt that the same for all mid table clubs including Everton who have been held up as a model of how to do things properly?

No but I saw him against United and he looked pretty good.

Given that a small group of senior pros apparently met up for a pint after the Norwich match perhaps there is something in this? of course it could all be 2+2 = 5 but something is clearly not clicking at the moment. What would you do if you were Ron though? Both players would have been key to his plans at the start of the season and at their best are streets ahead of their team mates in their respective positions. We don't know what goes on behind the scenes. Ron did say that he picked up Mane about his lack of effort in training the other day. Perhaps he has had words with Wanyama too? Perhaps not. Koeman has dropped Mane before for ill discipline so I don't think he is a soft touch. You have to wonder too why Ralph was wheeled out for a motivational speech the other day. Was it because the run of poor recent results or was it part of a plan to rebuild team spirit? Now we also have Guan's post to mull over too. Never a dull moment being a Saints fan

Agree with what has been said. If he is no better than Caulker or Yoshida then we should sell him on. At this point he has to be a better option on the bench than those two.
-
You seem to be fixated with managers and what they can do. Koeman proved last year that he can manage in the Premiership. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see that it was going to be harder for us this season. We are not a terrible team and with a but more luck could have come away from the last 3 games with 9 points. We are certainly a lot better than Villa Newcastle and Sunderland. What would their fans give to be 13th at the moment? Is it Koeman's fault that Mane behaves like a ***t? Is it down to Koeman that Wanyama makes that stupid lunge? At some point you have to start pointing the finger at players rather than the manager who can only do so much. You say you would bring in Howe, if Bournemouth hadn't have had a decent run recently you realise that his name would be in the frame for the sack? Koeman is clearly a decent manager whether you like him or not. He needs to be supported not hounded out of his job. 13th in the Premiership is not the worse place to be but the way you go on you would think we were bottom. And what did Guan confirm? That he would be escorted out rather than quit? What does that tell us? That he has no plans to leave? That he is about to be sacked? Another of Guan's riddles.
-
Well if he does go and takes Pelle with him you will be a happy bunny. By the way, we are 13th in the Premiership currently and only a few points away from your favourites Everton. Should they be looking to get rid of their manager too?

How long before you/we start to get really worried

Personally I am not putting the rubber sheets on the bed until we are in a relegation fight, which we are not at the moment. Having said that things could change in the next couple of weeks if we don't start scoring regularly. -
There are ways of doing that other than booing players at matches.
-
I am with you. It does nothing for morale or the team. We should be getting behind the club right now and that includes all on the pitch. Having said that I wouldn't have a problem dropping both of them until they are prepared to give 100% for the club and get a couple of decent loans in to cover.
