Lighten up Alps. Just having a chuckle. But seriously, we can if only or what if all day long and it will not change a thing. The same happens every season. There are always points dropped that we didn't expect and points gained that we didn't expect. For example who thought that we would take Arsenal to the cleaners the way we were playing at the time? Not long after someone posted where were the next points coming from we got a shedload of points. Your assumption in the OP is that if Forster and Bertrand had been in the side from day 1 we would have got more points but we have lost games with both of them in the side so it is pure conjecture as to whether we would have picked up more points or not. As you know, the point of the squad is to provide adequate cover when other players are injured, suspended or out of form. There is absolutely no guarantee that we would have more points if those two had been available from the start of the season but the point I am making is that is doesn't matter one bit because the likelihood of going through a whole season with your first choice team available is virtually impossible nowadays. We have different ways of looking at things and I prefer to think that we did well to have Virgil fit all season and that Shane Long finally showed why we paid why we paid £12m for him. Every cloud and all that....

I expect you are right. I would love to see the army in exercises against "the French." -
When Ron goes hopefully it will be to a bigger club. I wouldn't say that Everton was much of a step up.

I think that the point is why use any stereotype, why not just carry out training without having people to pretend they are one thing or another? Can you imagine the confusion if they train all the time to deal with one type of terrorist and then get attacked by another? Oh, he isn't shouting God is Great, what do I do now? He hasn't blown himself up, what do we do next? -

Yeah, silly me. We all know that only Muslims produce terrorists. -
Not JWP then?

He deserves a lot better. I hope he gets a job at a club that will back and appreciate him. It was a great fit with us. He needs to find another Southampton.

Question is, who do we take from our feeder club, Celtic, this summer?

It could well be, given that she was brought up in a convent school and all. Unless they don't raise children to be Christians in convent schools of course. -

Just about to post this myself. I wonder if the police will be training with people using Irish accents next time, just to make it authentic, like. -
Yet according to David Sullivan last night there was no attack and if you check the coach there is no damage!!

Not a great deal of difference with some of the nonsense on here to be fair. -
If I were a Spuds fan I would be more worried if Poch was seen at lunch with Steven Gerrard.

Exactly and a completely pointless exercise.

I like this game. If only.... Long could finish like Messi. Yoshida didn't make schoolboy errors. Marcus had bought the club 10 years earlier. None of our players ever got injured. None of our players ever got suspended. Alpine had been born in Portsmouth. I hadn't met my first wife. Etc etc etc.

Here's a thought.... What if every other supporters list of What Ifs meant that we ended up being relegated?

Let me know when your what iffing gets us more points Alps. As for clap trap, you my friend have it nailed.

"Weird agenda?" Since when has supporting normal, peaceful Muslims been a "weird agenda?" Perhaps in your world mate where you seem to want to be seen as a moderate but spend an awful lot of energy attacking people who are moderates. Why do you assume I was seeking negative comments? For all you know I might have been seeking positive comments. Afterall, it is a big deal being the first Muslim Mayor of London is it not? And given that we have been talking about the integration of Muslims into British society, what better way to integrate than be in one of the biggest jobs in public service? I am sure you cracked open the champers too when you heard that Khan had won. -
Once again your hypocrisy is staggering. You accuse people of point scoring using mental health issues but are happy to pour scorn on someone yourself using, yes, mental health issues. You accuse people of making things up yet freely do so yourself. Found where I have said that the McCann's murdered their own daughter yet? No? Thought not. You are a busted flush mate. By the way, asking someone if they have certain mental health issues is not "point scoring" as you call it. Point scoring would be knowing you had mental health issues and using that against you. I simply asked a question of you. One which by the way, you didn't answer and in your book can be classed as "running away."

Not really. I was pleasantly surprised that the usual suspects didn't kick off. Well not yet anyway. As for the obvious racists, if you really don't believe they exist when the evidence is very clear then you are a very blinkered individual. -
Someone got out of bed the wrong side! You clearly do care about other teams given the amount of vitriol you throw at some of them. What if all you like, it wont change anything and it just means you wallow in your usual vat of negativity. Just for once how about trying to see the glass as half full and not bone dry and see how that feels. I am sure there are many Saints fans who are happy with the season and aren't wasting their time on what might have been. As has been said, the what ifs include plenty of scenarios where we could have lost points too. As for stating the bleedin' obvious, here is a couple of what ifs for you. What if we had won every game? What if we had lost every game? Neither going to happen eh? No, so we fall somewhere between the two (again) Who would have thought it? If only......
