It’s amazing isn’t it. The same people who got upset about BLM or players taking the knee are now calling out making light of not having the perfect use of a language as racism. I guess we have Donald Trump to thank for the fact that any form of attack is justifiable even if it makes you a steaming hypocrite in the process.
-
You had better avoid the manager’s thread Weston. There is an awful lot “gingerism” going on there. How exactly is it racist to make a point about poor use of English anyway? People make fun at other people’s attempt at foreign languages, or even there own, all the time. Sacha Baron Cohen has made a career out of it. Would you call him a racist? Face it. You were just desperate to have a dig. I think that most people with a few brain cells to rub together could see that I was poking fun at the poster (who claims to be smarter than the rest of us) and not his wife.
-
Every manager appointment comes with a risk (granted, some more than others!). Despite the dreadful season this is still a good job prospect for certain types of managers. Of course we are never going to attract those at the very top of the food chain.
-
And you never do? Didn’t you call me a racist earlier for asking the question of, supposedly, the smartest bloke on here who had just delivered a very badly written post whether his wife (if she actually exists), who very possibly doesn’t have English as her first language, had written it? If that is not playing the poster, what is? Anyway, you are getting likes from nic, which speaks volumes.

I don’t think you can call saying “alternatively” an agreement. My point was that we already had a perfectly good deal whilst members of the EU and now are trying to scrape together smaller, less positive deals. I don’t see anything in his post agreeing with mine.
-
Just heard a couple of fishermen moaning about the deal. No mention of the fact that it will make it easier to sell their catches to the EU countries. No mention either of the deal made in December to allow the UK to 300,000 tons of fish in the North Sea. Positive noises made from the fishing body in Scotland over the improved situation for the salmon industry.
-
We still haven’t made any deals that were anything close to what we lost when we left the EU. But, yay, we make make lesser deals with anyone we choose.
-
Only from the usual suspects, Little Englanders, right wing media consumers and tribalists. Which of these are you?
-
Bizarre that we are currently 4 places below Manchester United and 3 places below Tottenham yet are rock bottom with the second worst points total in the EPL.

Said what exactly? If I said it and you are so sure that I did, you will have absolutely no problem in proving it will you. Your problem is that, as a conspiracy theorist, you twist things in your mind to suit your own narrative and agenda. Be assured that if I had said that certain people need to be murdered, there are plenty of people here who would spend time finding these alleged posts. They don’t and you can’t because they simply do not exist. Trust me, if I thought that they should be murdered then I would have no problem in saying so. You don’t seem to grasp that there is a difference between wanting people in power out of power and having them murdered do you? Are you ever going to answer Badger’s question about Putin? Nic, this is clearly a wind up login. You seem to get your jollies from posting ridiculous guff on a football forum. Here’s a tip for you. Get a job, get a real wife, raise a family and get a normal life. You will find it so much more rewarding.

No surprise to see you go into bat for nutty nic. You want to turn a comment about someone who claims to be more intelligent than the rest of us into a comment about racism? Knock yourself out. How very “woke” of you. He was the one trying to make a virtue out of having an Asian wife. If you think that making a comment about someone struggling to use a different language makes them racist you would have a field day when we go abroad with friends and they take the piss out of my attempts to speak French/Dutch/Italian. I guess you used to turn off ‘Ello ‘Ello when it came on each week? Did you boycott the Pink Panther films? Did you write letters of complaint to Harry Enfield for making fun of Scoucers? I used to work with a guy from Manchester who was constantly making fun of my London accent. Does that make him, what, a Regionalist? There are constant references on this Board about Portsmouth supporters being “Skates” (based on them supposedly having sex with fish) and being inbred. I look forward to you calling the posters out in future. Are you the one behind east-stand-nic’s log in?

Good to see progress is being made on mitigating the damage done by the Brexit deal. The usual suspects will kick off again about “sovereignty” missing the point, yet again, that doing deals involves give and take. No change on the fishing agreement with the possibility of selling more of our fish to the EU is a good thing, surely? EU investing in our security industries must be a good thing. Freedom of movement for young people was a big loss (one of my daughters worked in Barcelona for several months a few years ago and benefited from it hugely) and it is hard to understand why anyone would have a problem with it. If they can do something that will make it easier to travel to the rest of Europe, that will be another step forward. The Little Englanders and right wing media will react in the same old way, telling us that we are giving in to Brussels. Perhaps it is time for these people to park their tribalism and think about what is best for the people of this country

“I have you many time wishing death om trump and many others.” Great use of English there by our resident holder of a giant intellect. I have already denied it, stupid boy. If you have so much evidence, show it. By the way, is your wife writing these posts for you?
-
Give it a rest Frank. We all know it’s you.

Let us be honest. No matter who the next manager is, if he doesn’t come flying out of the gates immediately he will be written off as rubbish and if he doesn’t get us promoted at the first attempt he will be a total disaster!
-
I would love a “failure” like that. Not sure how you can compare Pep with Martin. Whatever you think about Pep, he is one of the top managers ever. Martin has just one promotion from the Championship to his name.

Palace were my local team growing up and most of my classmates supported them. They were my Portsmouth as many of them gave me stick for supporting Southampton. Over the years I have willed them failure but was pleased for them yesterday and sent congrats texts to those I am still in contact with. As others have said, it is good to see a “smaller” club win the trophy, it’s what the FA Cup is all about. I started watching the match at the penalty miss and it had the air of an upset from that point on. Although Henderson should probably not been on the pitch at that point, his save and his, and their defensive performance from then on, was epic. It took me back to 1976 when the final whistle blew and you realise in that moment why you invest so much time and emotion in supporting your club, whoever they are. Before the game I was hoping Palace would lose for all those years of playground taunting. At the final whistle I finally let go of my antipathy. Good luck to Palace and their fans. They deserve their day in the spotlight.

You really are incredibly stupid. Where have I said that Musk Farage and Trump should be killed? Yes, I think that the world would be a better place without these people, but you will not find a post from me calling for them to be murdered. As ever, you are 100% wrong. Dummy.

One down… https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c780x08450lo.amp This is what you are likely to get when you vote Reform. Mind you, some might have voted for him because of his views.

To be fair, the studies have found that Reform voters in general do have a lower than average IQ.

Even James Cleverley called the “Rwanda Experiment” ‘batshit crazy’ when it was first mooted. Think about it. If people are not deterred by the prospect of drowning in the channel, why would they be deterred by the slim prospect of being sent to Rwanda? The numbers mentioned meant that you had a slim chance of going even if planes were getting off the ground. It was an expensive stunt. People have been coming here either is small boats or the back of Lorrie’s for years. It is technically impossible to stop them arriving. Yes, more needs to be done to stop them getting into the boats in the first place, but the major problem in recent times has been what to do with them when they get here. The Tories let the problem mount by not processing the claims quickly enough leaving the situation ripe for exploitation by the likes of Farage (and if you think that he could solve the problem overnight that is another notion that should be filed under ‘batshit crazy’. People are entitled to seek asylum here. We need to find of way of dealing with those applications without people having to put their lives at risk and we need to speed up the process so that people are not held in limbo at great expense for months. It also makes perfect sense for people to be able to work here whilst waiting for their claims to be processed. They could then contribute to the economy rather than be a drain on it.

Perhaps Donald has added the Vatican to his wish list along with Canada, Greenland and the Panama Canal?
-
I have been suffering with back problems for a while myself (not as bad as Weston’s though) so I have a lot of sympathy for him. (Back to normal tomorrow 😉)
-
They have just cut away from the news of the trade deal to go to the Vatican. Henry V111 will be spinning in his grave. He’s a bloody yank too (but not Pope Donald).

Couldn’t agree more. It would be great to tell Trump where to stick his tariffs, but now that we are out of the EU we need to deal with these people.
