I read an interesting article about this case this morning. Narcissists have a very large but fragile ego and use it as a support system. They need to feel special and superior and cannot handle rejection as it plays into their deep seated feelings of inadequacy. Brand is a self confessed narcissist. He says that all of his sexual contacts have been consensual. They cannot handle rejection which means that they might not be able to take “no” as an answer, or maybe the “no” just doesn’t compute. That is not to say that every narcissist is a rapist or that Brand is guilty but then neither does the fact that he lived up to a rock star image and,no doubt, had many women throwing themselves at him, mean that he still didn’t take “no” as an answer from some of them. Not seen anything of him for a while, but he seems to be playing the good God fearing Christian card according to the clips they played on the news last night. Strange bloke.

It doesn’t matter if you were or were not. The simple fact is that you have said very clearly on here that the tens of thousands of innocent people in Gaza deserved what they get because, in one way or another, they are associated with Hamas. You, and a few others, have not shown any kind of sympathy towards the Palestinian people, be it in Gaza or those being thrown out of their homes on the West Bank. If it was the other way round, you would be all over it like a rash. Why do you use the word “obsession”? Would you use that word in a pejorative sense to describe those who keep the memory of the Holocaust alive? What is happening right now is an obscenity. You think we should just turn a blind eye to what is happening (and I include 7th October in this and all of the events prior). People have the perfect right to live in peace without having their land stolen by the neighbours, whoever they are. Wouldn’t you agree? Both the Ukrainians and the Palestinians are currently having their human rights put under threat by more powerful neighbours. You ok with that?

I have been thoroughly enjoying the contributions on this thread from the forum’s self proclaimed greatest intellect. He does seem to be struggling with issues that are not necessarily mutually exclusive however. For example, it is entirely possible for Donald Trump and his actions to be motivated by the fact that he is both “thick” and “sinister”.

Pointing out the obvious fact that there are several people on here who clearly think it is ok for one lot of civilians to be killed and another lot not okay is hardly an obsession, it is trying to put things into context. It is also very weird that a grown man pretends to be something he isn’t to complete strangers. Not much of a role model to kids, not least his own. Apart from spending his days on here trolling away, he lies to complete strangers about his job. I wonder what his boss would make of it all?

You don’t see a difference between taking people hostage and killing tens of thousands of other people? Given a choice I’m thinking that being taken hostage is preferable to being blow apart or buried under a building. Personally I don’t think that the response is, in any universe, justifiable or proportionate. He also tried to conflate WW2 with what is happening in Gaza at the moment as if Hamas is in any way comparable to any of the main forces in that war. The combatants in WW2 fought with similar munitions and equipment. I am sure you can see the difference between what the IDF have at their disposal to wage war against Hamas (and the civilians in Gaza) and what they have in response. It is a turkey shoot is it not. Civilians could leave the areas being bombed during WW2. The people in Gaza are trapped. I don’t know how you can conflate WW2 with what is happening in Gaza unless you agree that there was genocide also in WW2. As for the hostages, how anyone can say that it is ok to kill 50,000 civilians in response to some hostages being taken is beyond belief. And you call me a vile person. If Hamas we’re displacing Israelis in the West Bank from their homes we wouldn’t hear the end of it from you. My point is that we are watching the deconstruction of democracy, piece by piece, in real time, in the USA. Of course not. You don’t find it odd that some people constantly feel the need to post laughing emojis on posts about dead women and children? Wouldn’t you imagine that whatever drives their behaviour, the novelty would have worn off by now? The Lounge was always a bit weird but it seems to be getting weirder by the week.

For those who haven’t seen it yet I can thoroughly recommend Adolescence. Each episode is filmed in one take which adds to the gritty realism of the drama. The young lad who plays Jamie is phenomenal but the rest of the cast are also superb. I’ll warn you now, Episode 3 is a gut wrencher and feels like you are eavesdropping on an actual session between real people. It takes me back to the gritty black and white dramas the BBC were famous for back in the 60’s.

I didn’t bump into it as you say. I deliberately avoided it for some time when I saw that it was you who started it. I have read articles about Tate and posted many on here.
