I don’t agree with turning the volume down. We are in danger of going down the same road as the US. For every extremist nutter you see there are dozens of people who quietly agree that people like Farage and Lowe “have a point” and swallow the nationalistic bullshit without bothering to look at what these people really stand for. Even if they don’t win the next election (🙏) they could win enough seats to cause bigger problems. They are already making huge waves with only a small handful of elected MPs. You only have to look at the number of MAGA idiots who still think that Trump is doing a great job to see what could happen here if we allow the lunatics to run the asylum.

The Israelis are claiming that the cease fire deal doesn’t include Lebanon as does the US. Iran claims that it does. More importantly the people who brokered the deal say that it does include Lebanon. Strange days when the Iranian regime are more believable than our supposed allies. We have also gone, within a few hours, from Trump threatening to wipe out Iran if they do not comply with his wishes which included free and safe passage through the straits of Hormuz to a situation where the US and Iran will share a toll for ships passing through the straits. WTF?

It’s incredible isn’t it? Biden had a few dodgy episodes and it was all over the news not just in the US but across the world. Trump displays weird behaviour on a daily basis and the major news outlets do not go there. I appreciate that he is very litigious and will throw around more threats of legal action, but if they just present what he does when he does it, he hasn’t got a leg to stand on as the proof is right there (although he would probably claim “fake news.”). I can understand why those close to him continue to tell him what he wants to hear and do what he asks without question, as long as they take the Trump dollar they are protected and have a job that, under any other circumstances, they would be nowhere near. That doesn’t cut it for major news outlets. Their job is to report this stuff as and when it happens (which is currently on a daily basis). There is a lot wrong with social media, but at least it isn’t holding back on spreading the craziness currently going on with the US administration. He has already taken out a huge lawsuit against the BBC. What have they got to lose in presenting something like this and asking questions of his fitness for the most powerful job on the planet?

The thing is a few people clearly wrote him off before he had kicked a ball for us which doesn’t say much about their judgement. Let the player at least show what he has to offer before deciding whether he is rubbish/good. What’s not to love about Leo? He is an exciting player to watch and seems like an all round good guy. His finishing on the other hand…I have seen plenty of criticism about his finishing and decision making when he has players free in the box but chooses to shoot. He is a permanent threat to the opposition though and keeps them on the back foot so gets cut some slack. Granted I don’t read every post, but on the whole from what I have read most people have been positive about him. If you want to comment on negativity towards certain players you need to look no further than Baz, Manning, Downs, Archer and Stephens.

We are finally seeing what we hoped to see at the start of the season. A strong squad who play with an attacking intent and can deal with periods of pressure with composure and the ability to counter attack at speed. I don’t think anyone will fancy playing us at the moment. Tonda and the coaching team have done a fantastic job.
