  1. It’s better than nothing and, worse case scenario, imagine if we go down due to those 4 points.
  2. This is the problem. If clubs have easy access (I don’t know what Oxford’s training ground is like but we know that Middlesbrough and Millwall’s training grounds are easily accessible) perhaps they don’t give a second thought to sending people along?
  3. I think they should have held fire on the verdict and let us slug it out with Hull. Then if we win we get kicked out and Hull take our place. If we then appeal there is no panic about us winning the appeal.
  4. I wonder what he wanted to say before but couldn’t? Maybe that everybody does it so no biggy?
  5. It’s a new panel apparently.
  6. Conspiracy theory alert - What if they said fess up to other spying crimes and we will go easier on you and then did the dirty on us? I know, clutching at straws.
  7. I expect they are like us, just sitting round saying, “WTF just happened?”
  8. Feel for Hull. They have been preparing for us. Tomorrow they start preparing for Shitgibbonbrough but may have to prepare for us again on Thursday. I doubt we will get the expulsion overturned but wonder if we will have any grounds to sue for loss of earnings? Three (accounted for) minor breaches of a rule and we get hit with this??? Games are played over 90 plus minutes. Despite the grief being aimed at Tonda I don’t believe for one minute that even if we did this to every team in the league, that it had a massive effect on the outcome of the games. As we have said constantly, we have videos of every single match played in our league.
  9. It’s even worse for THB. He is getting married soon and his father in law will be Roy Keane!
  10. Fair play to you, you got it right and I got it wrong. I’m not a betting man but would have splashed out a whole fiver on us not getting kicked out this late in proceedings. I guess the other breaches against Ipswich and Oxford didn’t help but given the little information we can get from watching a bit of training against the hours of video we can look at, why bother. If the other outings were as amateurish as the Middlesbrough outing we have lost a great deal for not much gain. The rule is dumb. Do it at 73 hours and it is fine. Do it an hour later or more and face one of the biggest hits in world football! Really? The rule is so dumb that not even the EPL, the home of serial cheaters, doesn’t bother with it. I’m not sure what is more sickening, the punishment or Gibbo getting another bite of the cheery after bottling it in the league and losing the semi over two legs. His heavy duty lobbying has paid off handsomely. I guess we might get the four points back in appeal but having gone nuclear I can’t see that being overturned. This will long be remembered as the most disproportionate fine ever. I’m not sure what the club can say to placate us, but if it is true that everybody does it and we have just been poor enough at it to get court, what can you say? Any way, again I am prepared to eat humble pie and apologise to everyone to whom I said was talking rubbish about expulsion. I still can’t actually believe it. WTF?
  11. Hands up. I really didn’t believe that the punishment would be this harsh, even when you throw in the other two we admitted to it is nothing like the breach of the rules by those taking the piss out of the financial rules. Our attempt to spy on Middlesbrough was amateurish and ridiculous. This punishment is even more ridiculous. It is in no way proportionate to a “crime” so unimportant that few if any other leagues in the world have it. Do what we did at 73 hours, no problem. An hour later and you get one of the biggest punishments in football history. Beyond ridiculous.
  12. Wow! Didn’t see that coming!!!
  13. We haven’t been charged with spying against any other teams as yet. If they have come forward they will need to provide evidence of spying with the 72 hour period.
  14. No cryptic pictures clues though! 😩
  15. Unless M’bro have some damming evidence that isn’t in the public domain yet, this case has all the legitimacy of a Prem prima donna getting a light touch in the box, going down like he has been poleaxed and not only screaming for a penalty, but for his team to be awarded the game as the foul constituted some very very serious cheating.
  16. There is more insight on this thread, but he gets paid for talking bollox.
  17. I did actually have a session of colonic irrigation some 20 years ago but can’t recall how much they charged. Did the trick though so well worth the money.
  18. Depends on Chambers (higher in London) and types of cases.
  19. Depending on a range of circumstances they can charge between £500 and £2500 per hour plus VAT.
  20. You don’t want to be shouting that on the beaches around East Kent!
  21. My thoughts exactly. When the news first broke and the picture was published it was just ridiculously absurd. They have blown it up from the world’s worst attempt at surveillance to the most heinous crime in football.
  22. And killing time until we hear from the panel/EFL and have something concrete to discuss.
  23. According the news on LBC, the panel are meeting “this lunchtime” and a decision will be made later about the fate of the final. Seems odd if they have recently released more tickets.
  24. No! My uncle was a compositor there though so his spelling skills DNA clearly didn’t pass over to me. Actually it was The Guardian who had a poor record for typos (hence being called The Gruaniad) and no, I wasn’t a proof reader there either!
  25. Fortunately not, although I did actually do a shift on the Evening Standard as a Reader’s Assistant. I had to read out the text while he read it and corrected any errors. They were wise enough not to let me on the reader’s chair.
