Not elected yet but already showing proper leadership in this matter. https://amp.theguardian.com/world/article/2024/jul/26/israeli-right-wing-hits-out-at-kamala-harris-as-netanyahu-visit-polarises-opinion
  5. Good man. Now if only he will also reduce his wage demands, that would be extra helpful.
  6. Not good. https://amp.theguardian.com/politics/article/2024/jul/25/rachel-reeves-expected-to-reveal-20bn-shortfall-in-public-finances
  7. I’m guessing that you are down at The Farage Arms and have had one pint of Bishop’s Scrotum too many?
  8. This guy is part of the problem. https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/amp/entry/lee-anderson-applauds-police-involved-in-manchester-incident_uk_66a2575ce4b0af62b424f43e/ Also normal, rational people do not go around stabbing people. Anybody who repeatedly stabs someone clearly has issues be they a sudden loss of control or deeper rooted, long term issues.
  9. Worrying. This games looks ripe for terrorist activity. Not a great start. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/07/26/eurostar-diverts-paris-olympic-trains-after-attacks/
  10. Mel Stride is the latest to stand. His majority was reduced to 61 at the last election. Hardly a ringing endorsement.
  11. James Cleverly is quoted as saying that Conservatives should stop behaving as a cult. I think that must be a typo.

  15. Let’s hope for Donald’s sake it was a bullet. “I took a piece of shrapnel for Democracy” doesn’t have the same ring to it. https://www.thedailybeast.com/fbi-is-not-fully-convinced-trump-was-struck-by-a-bullet
  16. This reminds me of the joke about the little boy made of balloons and a safety pin.
  17. When he was asked about his favourite part of the Bible after banging on about it his reply was “all of it.”
  18. Thank you for your input pingpong and my apologies for not replying sooner but I missed your post. As said earlier I didn’t appreciate that trans was inappropriate as a noun when I wrote my earlier post but am happy to stand corrected.
  19. James Heappy was sitting in for James O’Brien on LBC this morning a nailed the Tory dilemma. Some of the party would be more at home in the LibDems and some more at home in Reform. They need to regroup around the centre right but are there enough of that political persuasion to form a solid core?
  20. The only people who made “a cock out of themselves” were those who got upset about a bunch of footballers choosing a specific action to highlight their opposition towards racism.
  21. Fair comment, but this has been going on for many years and I only hardened my response in reaction to the same posters who have been having a pop at me for being liberal and attacking far right politics. Yes, I could duck back down behind the parapet, but why let the bullies win?
  22. Thank you. I have seen “trans” used many times as a non pejorative noun so didn’t see it as a problem. My understanding was that trans was ok whereas trann* was a pejorative abbreviation. Every day is a school day! I probably should have said trans person in my post and if I thought it was going to cause the pile on crowd to wake up I clearly would have done. My post was all about Suella Braverman so my focus was on what she was saying rather than worrying about being tripped up by my own prose. As I have said before, if anyone else had said it no one would have batted an eyelid.
  23. Perhaps if the rest of us stop responding and carry on with the subject of the thread they will eventually get bored and move on?
  24. John Crace wrote a good piece about her a few months ago. https://amp.theguardian.com/politics/2024/feb/19/it-must-be-exhausting-to-be-kemi-badenoch-anger-her-ever-faithful-companion
